“Great place to stay but mind the road.”
Reviewed 28 August 2014

We stayed at these apartments this summer and were overwhelmed by the size of our apartment and the lovely pool area. I agree with all of the positive reviews about these apartments however it is clear that returning customers did seem to have a little preferential treatment. Some felt that they owned the place.

I'd also like to point out the we found the road extremely dangerous. It is the main entrance road to the resort so it is busy. On our second day a coach nearly our baby son's pram. Also many british tourists rent quad bikes at this resort and seem to go a little bit too fast. I was actually surprised to see that the rental place seem to rent bikes to kids under the age of 16. They may deny this but we saw kids on quads racing up and down every day. I didn't see one person wearing a helmet either. One guy i passed in the street referred to it as 'very chavy' but that's just his opinion.

Agios Stefanos has a lovely beach and the restaurants generally serve great food. The Little Prince is very good but the dancing gets very annoying, the food there really speaks for itself, there's no need for the owners to do a provocative dance together whilst the tourists tuck in to their gorgeous Kleftiko. I would go back to Kapetanios again tomorrow as i cannot fault the accommodation. It is bar far the best we have had in Greece. It was perfect for my 18 month year old son too as we were given a ground floor apartment that was huge and had a bath. Spiros is a diamond and will help you with anything.

Regarding Agios Stefanos i'm going to be frank, if you don't like hills, Karaoke, Bingo and awful Lady Gaga impersonators and quads then avoid this resort. I Have travelled all over Greece and this place felt a bit too english for my liking. Go here for a good family holiday that has something for everybody but in my opinion it doesn't necessarily feel greek. Once again, be careful with the road.

Room Tip: Rooms 11, 12 and 13 are huge, quiet and have baths.

We stayed at the Kapetanios for 2 weeks, with my partner and 8yr old daughter at the start of the school holidays. What an amazing place....the studio we had was huge, with a full size bath and a really good shower. There was a basic kitchenette with a small oven, toaster and good sized fridge, enough to prepare breakfast or a light meal.....the studio was cleaned every day and the beds made, towels changed every other day.The pool was well maintained and safe for children with plenty of sun beds and shade. But what made the holiday were Spiros & Yiannis behind the bar, nothing was too much trouble for them...and the regulars ( you can see why people go back year after year ) who made us feel so welcome, the pool volleyball was a fun way to end the afternoon!! The view is amazing, but it is up quite a steep hill....not bad in the evening but in the heat of the day it can be a bit challenging! Top Tip...get a shop from ASPA supermarket and they will deliver your shopping ( and you!) to the apartments. Can't wait to go back

Stayed at the Kapetanios for two weeks with our two children and my parents. The staff were helpful and kind and couldn't do enough for you. Yannis makes amazing cocktails and milkshakes for the kids. The bbq night is a must. The pool area is immaculately kept and the rooms are basic but spotless. Everyone is really friendly. The hill is a challenge but like someone has already said, keeps you fit and is cheaper then gym membership. Little Prince restaurant and Zorbas are definitely worth a visit, as is Tasty corner if you don't fancy a full 3 courses. Waves on the beach has amazing sunsets as you eat your meal. Condor bar has a great party atmosphere and their acts are good entertainment. The only warning I would issue is don't book anything with Olga travel. We booked for a party of 11 to go to Aqualand with them and they only provided 10 seats on the coach. The answer we got from them was that we could put our two 9 year olds on one seat because they were having trouble with coaches. Unprofessional and unsafe. I'd never recommend a company that puts profit before safety.

Lastly Theos family boat trip is brilliant. The kids loved it and he was very entertaining. Aqualand also well worth a visit.

Lovely clean but basic rooms, spotless communal areas, lovely food reasonably priced. The staff Yannis and Spiro's can't do enough for you Yannis won my 8 year old granddaughters heart! A really friendly homely place,we adopted the neighbours dogs litea and naughty for a fortnight they were a joy.Agio steph is a friendly place all the shop keepers and restaurant staff speak to you and are genuinely nice our granddaughter asked us why everyone was so nice, says it all.The beach is beautiful and the sea shelves very gradually so fab for small people, visit juice bar Shane's frappé is glorious as are the fresh pressed juices,Princes bar is a must such lovely staff ,pottery painting shop is ace the people who own it are so nice.Wish I was there now!The only downside to the apartments was the steep hill which made you think twice about making more than a couple of trips down to the beach or village per day but if your fit I don't think it would bother you and you don't have to cart shopping up there as the supermarkets deliver it free of charge! Like I said wonderful people wonderful apartments, wonderful place

Having stayed in san stef for several years now but never stayed here before we were a bit aprehensive we have walked past it on a number of occasions but never even been in for a drink
we got a decent price on the kapetanios through thomas cook 2 adults and a very excited 6 year old daughter for a cheap week at the end of may, arrived after the usual long journey form the airport and a stupidly long wait for everyone to get on the bus i think thomas cook have slashed prices by trying to arrange transfers cheaper here.
we were greeted by spiros who was very effecient and very very welcoming considering it was our first time here he helped me with th cases as it can be a struggle on your own with wife and childrens luggage.
He showed us to our 2 bed apt which was adequate for what we needed there seems to be 2 types of 2 bed apts here at the kappa not sure if thomas cook give an option for a more expensive room or not !! we were in the older block room 26 gnd floor and the other ones in the newer block were much nicer more modern and nicer views, but we were only here for a week so we were fine with the room yes it is dated and the bathroom tiling and showertray etc is a bit ludicrous as usual for greece, and the noise from the water meters were a bit of a annoyance in this room as they are located on your terrace and are very noisy as the rest of the block use the water.

spiros and yiannis are the stars of the kappa ,really welcoming everyone, excellent with all guests and the children which is very important as familys will know happy children equals happy parents.
They always had time for a little chat about anything you want really, this can make a big difference to your holiday package, definatley a personal touch from these guys and without them it would havent been so relaxing and enjoyable, the usual san stef repeat visitors frequent here but not clicky at all,
we eaten at lunch and dinner here several times and it was very good, the bbq night was good as well ,even though some guests complained about the food being cold ours was fine .
The pool area is lovely and relaxed, very well maintained as well, drinks and snacks on tap and not to busy just right for a morning frappe , it was a bind to leave in the day and go into the village as it really has everything you needed from morning to evening ,i must say the Mojito and other cocktails we tried were spot on and very well made well done spiros , the location is spot on not to far away from the village but far enough to be really peacefull with some lovely views in and around the grounds which were all very well kept and dont worry about the hill it isnt a problem.
The bar area inside could do with freshing up a bit,and a face lift if i was the owners this would be a priority as this would make a massive difference especially in the evenings and would generate a larger evening trade and income, as most people spend most of there money in the village at night on drinks and food,
This is a shame really as they do have the right offerings of good food served brilliantly by yiannis ,maybe a happy hour in the bar? would do well to persuade the guests to spend a few euros in the bar early on before they decide to venture down the hill for the evening.
so would we stay here again well yes !!! most definatlly i am misssing my mojitos and frappes already ,but would probbally try and get a room away from the water meters in the newer blocks with nicer views ,but if not would still go anyway

efrichristo spiros and yiannis

Folks,

I've stayed with my girlfriend in other apartments nearby, but we came few times for a drink or two;) to Kapetanios because of Yanni. Excellent and friendly bartender and a great place to chill out after a long day of travelling :)
