This is the best hotel I have stayed in. Staff so friendly and helpful. Will be coming back again. Lots to see and do. Beware some of the hills are quite steep if you like walking so take plenty of water. Beware of the mossies. Even though i was covered in spray they still got me! The supermarket up the road has lots of stuff and is cheaper than the UK. All in all the best holiday i have had

After a lovely cruise, we were looking forward to a relaxed week at this hotel. The hotel is clean and tidy, food is very good. However, we were not told by Thomsons that we would have to pay 5 euros per day for the air conditioning( which you need in the heat), pay for tea or coffee, and be told by an english member of staff that the coffee is DIY do it your self ! After a very polite staff on the ship and paying a lot of money for the holiday, it was a bit of a come down to be talked to like this ! The breakfast is very basic unless you pay more money for an upgrade!
The hotel is nice but please be warned that there are extra charges that you don't know about when you book your week after the cruise

Room Tip: Be warned the bathroom has no shower tray as a result the water from the shower covers the bathroom...

This hotel has the most wonderful staff, they cant do enough for you especially the waiting staff, Nikos, Christoph, Ryan and co. They are all so helpful and chatty and wonderful people. We stayed as part of our honeymoon and the hotel is value for money. It is basic accommodation but is clean and the pool is nice, the breakfast and dinner inclusive is lovely and tasty and changes each day. the hotel entertainment is very fun and the local area is quiet but has lots of wonderful bars and restaurants, plus the hotel is a 5 min walk from the beech. our only gripe was the charging points in our room were a bit temperamental and the shower curtain wasn't long enough so the water tented to go onto the bathroom floor a bit. Other than that fab holiday and great, value for money hotel with lovely staff!!

Room Tip: not above the bar as noisy until about 1am

First the good points....spacious grounds, great pool with walk in steps, ample sunbeds and picnic tables, very good greek food with exception, air conditioning with remote but at 5 euros/day,friendly staff and good location.
The bad points....very poorly fitted carpet on stairwell,(my wife tripped on it twice,I tripped once),no lifts, double bed had 4, maybe 5 wooden supporting members missing, poor entertainment,(mainly karoake, bingo and quizes),drinks were not generously poured for spirits, english breakfast was poor,2 fried eggs,2 bacon, beans and 1 banger at an additional cost of 2.5 euros. An order for scramble egg came to me as a poor messed up omellette. My favourite greek main course is Stamna and it was poor, tinned or packet veg was used and the cheese was poor and other things were missing.Safe was in front of Reception, much prefer in room.

Room Tip: Room 317 is spacious with balcony if you can put up with the defective double bed. This was our room.

Just returned from a week at this hotel, and have to say, on first view, the hotel frontage is very elegant, and welcoming. Unfortunately, the rooms don't live up to the same standard. They are very basic, and yes, the shower is ridiculous. Don't bother with the bath mat!!! The room had a lovely balcony, with a lovely view,(we had to pay extra for the room upgrade, by the way) but the piece of string, for your towels had to be taken down, so that we could enjoy it!! Also, was a bit cheesed off having to pay for air-con, considering the price of the holiday.
The food was sometimes lovely, but the use of tinned veg was unnecessary!! We went down for dinner one evening at 8.30, (dinner was served until 10pm), to be told that there was no chicken curry left!!! A good job, really ,as we didn't want any, but didn't realise that you had to get in early in order to get the full choice options!! And yes, the same deserts, every night was a bit of a let-down.
And as for breakfast.........don't order cornflakes, as you get them brought to you, already with milk on, milk that I might add, has never been in the fridge.and the portion size was not enough for my husband. The rest of the breakfast- a roll and a slice of toast-was also inadequate, and by no means "continental".
The public toilet area is also very grubby, and poorly maintained, often with no toilet roll, or paper towels, nothing like the public areas that everyone uses, which are lovely.
The staff are lovely, yes, but will chat more to people that are spending money, if you want to just sit, they will bypass you, after a while.
We must go to bed really early, as the noise continues well past midnight, and beyond, making any hope of sleeping impossible. Karaoke, bands etc, all still going strong till the small hours, all going on right under the rooms....

Just returned from a 2 week stay at this hotel (booked it based on 2012 reviews). On arrival and shown to our room (236) at the side of the hotel we found the bathroom very small and then onto the balcony which was fine size wise, but I still can't get over the "bit of string" tied round the posts which was obviously for hanging the towels etc!!! I have been to Corfu three times, and on each occasion there was always a free standing drier on the balcony. It was very unsightly when all the towels, beach wear etc. was hanging out. The breakfast was very basic, and this needs to be addressed. Continental is fine, but a choice of cereals, juice etc. would be appreciated. Evening meals we had no problems with, as previous reviews have stated, there is a fairly good choice, but if you would prefer something from their Lunch Menu, this will be provided no problem at all. The water service was a nice change and the staff were excellent, both in terms of service and humour! Just felt the hotel in general was in a bit of a time warp. The bathroom does get very wet, (which usually is the case in Greece) - the only way we got round it was to use the shower "hand held" - not ideal, but it saved the place getting too wet. Enclosed shower doors would certainly help. The rooms, although basic, are very clean was all other public areas. What could also be improved on are the toilets downstairs (if you're sitting in the lounge). More in the way of maintenance, i.e. missing toilet seats etc as opposed to cleanliness issues. All in all we enjoyed ourselves - a holiday is what you make it. The hotel / rooms were certainly clean enough, and we certainly didn't starve. Would I return? Probably not unless they made some changes. Would certainly return to San Stefanos, but would go self catering.

Currently staying in this beautiful resort and can say will never visiting this hotel again!

The rooms are tiny and very dated, the noise is unbearable any time of night or day.

The hotel caters for an elderly clientele but overlooks other guests, seeming to prefer the regulars.

From the general public area the hotel looks well kept and modern, however the rooms are tiny, very old fashioned and barely habitable. The bath room is smaller still and our shower was broken and the wet room affect really was not good.

Having stayed in this resort for the last ten years I appreciate that some Greek accommodation can be basic however, this was definitely below par.

We are out for all our meals as the menu catered for the older guests.

The only thing going for this hotel is the central location.
