We stayed at Casa de Blue for a week during our trip to the greek islands. We absolutely loved Kefalonia and the location of Casa de Blue was perfect - a 20 minute drive from the ferry port, close to Lourdas and Trapezaki beaches. A car was however essential in order to get anywhere, which was also true for everywhere on the island. The room we had was very basic but clean and spacious. The best part of it was the balcony with a beautiful sea view. (Most appartments at Casa de Blue have the sea view.) The swimming pool was also great and well-maintained with free sunbeds and umbrellas and we ate three times in the restaurant attached to the appartments.

The owner Marinos was very friendly and helpful at all times. This also goes for his daughters who helped out in the restaurant. In general this accommodation had a nice family feel to it and we felt very comfortable. The only downside was that Marinos holds greek dancing nights twice a week and plays the same CD (with 5 songs on it) the whole evening...Also the matresses weren't great. But apart from that we had a great time and would consider staying at Case de Blue again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with sea view. They are all pretty much the same.

If you are looking for a complete getaway look no further than these lovely studios
stunning views, simple typically Greek accommodation and very roomy a truley lovely owner Marinos where nothing is too much trouble the food is also superb with the resturant being attached to the studios, we loved it so much that we ate in the resturant everynight .
Lourdas is lovely very laid back with a scattering of resturants, and a couple of bars which were yet to be opened at the end of May, the beaches are beautiful but get your hiking shoes on the main beach has a killer of a hill to climb back up but well worth it I believe the little bus runs from June I reccommend you hop on it ,Kefalonia is beautiful but more so give Casa de Blue a try you wont be disappointed.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor the views are stunning.

What can one say of the beautiful Island of Kefalonia and wonderful hospitality of Marinos and his wife? Here goes...

My girlfriend and I stayed at Casa de Blue recently for 10 days. Our room was spacious with a balcony, fridge/freezer, two hobs, a sink and many cupboards. We overlooked the sea which was a tremendous bonus. The owner, Marinos, was very hospitable and spoke English well. The food at his restaurant was excellent - ranging from breakfasts through to snacks and evening meals. He and his wife own a restaurant which she runs 100 yards away from the studios called "Zorbas". Naturally, everything cooked here is of a high standard also.

The Island is wonderful and needs to be explored - and with no fewer than 5 car and scooter rental shops within 500m of the Studios there is no excuse! Note that Lourdata is the least 'touristy' area of the island with steep slopes to the visually stunning and unmolested beaches. The windy roads are great to drive around, the views whilst driving are fantastic - just be sure not to drive too closely to the edge of the road whilst taking in this scenery - a vertical drop may ensue! The beaches are incredible, boasting inky-blue water and light sand and pebbles. Mirtos beach on the west side of the island is not to be missed! If you like a beautiful beach overrun with English plebs then look no further than Skala. For a stunning beach, however, head for Lassi. Tremendous. Other notable attractions are the underground caves and Melissani lake (an underground lake).

If you love to explore whilst on Holiday, go to Kefalonia and stay at Casa de Blue. If you love to sit by a pool and drink English beer whilst listening to English music, I suggest you go elsewhere. A truely beautiful island brimming with personality, wildlife and sheer natural beauty.

Efharisto pouli Marinos! Tha se thoume pali mia emera!

We visited Lourdas in Kefalonia for the first time in September and we were fortunate enough to discover Casa De Blue Restaurant early on in our holiday. After our first meal there we did not eat anywhhere else. Marinos, the owner, was very friendly and generous and the meals we had were all excellent, especially the mousaka. We would also recommend the house white wine which was also very good value. We did not stay in the studios there as we were already booked in somewhere else, but Marinos was kind enough to let us use the pool and one of his studios on the last day because we had had to vacate our own. We would not hesitate to stay at one of these studios on any future visit to the area. Thank you Marinos for your generosity, especially the free deserts presented at the end of each meal. We look forward to returning soon.

just back to wet and windy Manchester from Lourdas. Ate often at Casa de Blue . Great authentic Greek food, friendly welcome from Marinos and his lovely family, wife Mary, son Denis and beautiful daughters Efes Ether and Georgia. We really enjoyed ourselves there.
