Stayed at the Planet for two weeks between 9 August and 23 August. Sharon and Katrina and everybody in the background did a great job, the cleaners worked hard and kept areas clean. Beware if you are staying in the studios as there is sand in the hot water so use tap water when making a brew and rinse twice after a shower. We also found out this was a problem last season and nothing had been done about it. I was told this was due to cost. Also for 3 days out of the 14 we had no hot water and had to shower in cold water. On one of these days they ran out of fuel for the heating and the replacement turned up about 6.00 p.m.. It was a shame we did not receive an apology from management. who really do focus on the bar and bar area..
I agree with other comments about the bar and feeling under pressure to get another drink. I felt when your glass had a small amount in it staff were right over asking you if you needed another drink so it felt a bit pushy. The bar did shut quite late but yes when the shutters are closed it shuts out some of the noise from the DJ and people who were drunk and noisy.
whilst we were at the Planet two rooms were broken into on the same night and a case was even taken and there was no sign of a break-in. Access to room keys was so easy as they are kept in an open area near the bar and internet access and anybody could take these keys as you would not be noticed so security is very lapse. When one of the victims reported his theft the response he received was you are insured aren't you..
Overall the Planet is okay if you just want to get drunk all night which is a shame as it has so much more to offer but I will not be returning.
