“Very nice and quiet. Staff more than friendly!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 June 2014

I stayed there together with my 3 year old son for one week. We had the two room privat apartement. It was a huge apartement with a bedroom, kitchen, living room (with 2 another beds in it), a small bathroom and a huge balcony. Everywhere it's very clean and, except of my son, very quiet too. It is perfect to relax!
The staff is really more than friendly at any time! The food was awesome! We really had a great time at Zante Star! We definitely come back there!

Just returned from our 2nd visit to this lovely hotel. Staff and customers so friendly , staff very professional and helpful , the whole place is spotless . The pool is superb as is the bar and food . I am looking forward to a 3rd visit. Congratulations to all the staff for making not only our holiday so memorable but for all the returning guests too . The only downside is that a week isnt long enough although i doubt 2 , 3 or even longer wouldnt be .

Just returned from a week's hols and would support all the other positive reviews of this truly lovely hotel.

Some key points
> It is owned and run by two sisters (Helen and Irene) and their mum. Their family have owned and run hotel for 30 years.
> It is situated a 10 min walk (on the flat) from beach and town centre but in a semi rural setting which is lovely - views over olive groves and small holdings. Distant sea view.
> Helen and Irene are on site 24 hours a day and incredibly helpful. Simple example, wanted directions to my car hire company in town and Irene rang them and got them to deliver and collect car to hotel which was not included in the original deal. They also responded to my pre arrival emails promptly and helpfully. (Contact details on Zante Star website).
> Apart from one large apartment (which is booked direct with hotel and booked until 2016!), all the apartments are exclusive to Olympic Holidays so you need to book via Olympic. We did this via the Olympic internet site which was OK if a bit clunky. Flights included and available from multiple UK regional airports.
> There are lots of stairs and no lifts so bear this in mind and see note re room location.
> They have a small car pack (beneath olive trees!) so somewhere for your hire car if applicable.
> All areas are spotlessly clean and extremely well maintained.
> Drinks prices are exceptionally reasonable - e.g large beer 2.5 euros. Food prices also very good - c. 25% cheaper than in town and good quality food. e.g. superb greek salad for 4.5 Euros.
> Apartments are a reasonable size - main bedroom double/twin beds and two smaller pull out beds in kitchen area. I think this would be fine for family with two younger children but as our children are older (20 and 18) we were so glad we booked two apartments.
> Nicely equipped kitchen in apartment allowed us to prepare breakfast and snacks very easily - although we ate out each day. No microwave but good quality toaster and kettle. They included dishcloth, washing up liquid and tea towel.
> We travelled in mid June and therefore we managed (just!) without the optional aircon which is available at a additional cost of 50 Euros per week. This would be essential mid summer I think.
> Each apartment has mossie coil - just need to buy tabs from reception. Apartment has insect screen to balcony but coil needs to be used.
> Excellent bathroom and shower. Note that water is heated in the morning and evening. So is cold outside those times. This wasn't an issue for us but bear in mind.
> Lovely pool - no separate children's pool but shallow end 0.7m deep. Very small children would need buoyancy aids and close supervision.
> Loads of free loungers, no need to reserve also shaded seating around small tables by bar - again loads of space. Note although hotel was full, because we travelled out of school hols, most apartments just had two adult occupiers. Would be much busier in school hols I guess.
> They have a selection of inflatable beds, and other pool toys available to use.
> There is free wifi in reception and poolside restaurant - not the fastest but was fine for our use.
> They have a couple of pool tables (small charge) and a table tennis table (free), the pool would be the main attraction if you have small children.

All in all one of the very nicest, small hotels we have stayed in and would love to come back. Many of the guests had been there time and time again - which is always a great sign.

Room Tip: The apartments are over three floors and higher levels via quite steep steps (no lifts). > We a...

What can I say about this hotel that has not been said already. If anyone can stay in these apartments and find fault then they would have to be really really picky!! This is a family run business and everything about it is first class. It is spotlessly clean, the beds are made everyday, rooms are cleaned everyday. All the staff are brilliant, especially the two sisters, Helen and Irene for whom nothing is too much trouble. And Mum is pretty cool as well. My partner and I spent two lovely weeks here, and hope to go again. As others have mentioned, the showers are brilliant!! The food they provide is also really nice. I could go on, but you really need to go there yourselves and experience it first hand. Thank you Zante Star!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We stayed at the Zante Star from 5th to 13th June 2014. Our holiday was amazing from start to finish despite a little accident! The room was spacious, clean, modern and as people have mentioned in previous reviews the shower is great! The staff are extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble.......to prove....... I had an accident on the Greek night falling over on my ankle whilst dancing(no vodka north involved at all!). I was assisted to bed by Helen an Irene who got me a cold ice compress. The next morning a pair of crutches arrived and Toula drove me to the hospital where I got checked out. We were due to check out on Thurs at 12pm not flying until 5am Fri morning but Helen found us a room to use until we left and made phone calls to the holiday company to make sure I could fly home with my injury. Now if that is not service above and beyond then I don't know what is. On top of that, Irene who runs the bar in the evenings is very friendly, remembers what you drink every night and is great to talk to. The food at the hotel is fantastic as well. The staff are a complete credit to the hotel and should be proud of the service the deliver. Tsvilli is a lovely resort and very friendly. There are plenty of good places to eat and drink. The beach is lovely, sandy and never overcrowded. The downside.....we were only there for a week and not 2!!!!!!! We will definitely be back, hopefully again his year if not next. Yamas Zante Star!

We've just returned from a week at the Zante Star and had a lovely time.

On arrival we were greeted by the owners and our cases carried up to the room for us.

The room was lovely, spacious and modern and plenty big enough for a couple. Modern shower room, with well equipped kitchen/living room with a separate bedroom with double doors and a balcony overlooking the Olive groves. It really is in a lovely setting with fantastic views of the trees and the town. It's also only 15 minutes from the airport.

I was impressed by the attention to detail. There was washing up liquid and a sponge ready and salt and pepper, which was a nice touch as you don't want to be buying these but they're very useful.

The room was immaculately clean, the bed was made everyday and the towels changed every other day. In fact the whole hotel was spotlessly clean and very well presented.

The best part of the room was the shower. It was worth coming on holiday just for this!

We decided to eat at the hotel on the first night. There was plenty of food to choose from and it was all delicious. All the food and drink was very reasonably priced. You could have eaten there every day if you didn't want to go out.

I talked to other guests at the bar. Most of them had been at least once before or had return stays booked for later in the year.

The pool was lovely, private as no other properties overlooked it. There were plenty of sun beds.

The hotel is quite rural down a country lane so it's very quiet. The only noise that you hear are the cockerels and the dogs barking at night time, and the occasional Greek night/karaoke from other hotels which always stopped by midnight.

There is a small supermarket nearby, a five minute walk and the beach is a little further about 10 minutes walk. The town centre is about 15 minutes walk and there is a good selection of bars, cafés, restaurants, supermarkets and shops. Athena was the best restaurant we ate at with about 200 main courses.

I would recommend the Zante Star to anyone as everyone who works there clearly take great pride in it and what they do. Everyone was uber friendly and very helpful, even taking my postcards to the postoffice in Zante town so they would get to England quicker. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and that made for a racing holiday knowing that you're going to get good service and be well looked after.

The only thing I would say to anyone going here is there are lots of steps and no lifts or slopes so if you have mobility issues it's not for you. Otherwise go and have a fabulous holiday. It's much better than the three stars it has and much nicer than any five star hotel I've stayed in abroad. I would definitely go back and take all the family next time.

Thank you Zante Star for helping us have a fantastic holiday.
