Returned yesterday from 2 weeks at Zante Star. Booked late with Teletext operator and didnt expect too much at the price paid. Read the reviews just before setting off and were surprised at the positive comments. With only 35 studios personal service is the key. Tula and her two daughters run the property and nothing repeat nothing is too much trouble. After mentioning to Irene (one of the daughters ) my bed was uncomfortable after the first night , within 2 hours they changed the mattress and all was well. The studios are small especially with two twin boys of 7, with 2 occupants they would be fine. The couch which splits into 2 beds is a quality piece of furniture not the normal travelodge cheapy type, but this means you cannot easily revert during daytime to packing the unit back into one couch and seriously reduces the overall floor space available in the living area. Self catering is typical Greek style with just 2 electric hotplates and no Microwave so cooking a meal is very restrictive, we eat out every night and spent a lot of money compared with say Spain or Portugal in similar properties. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from the beach and 12/14 minutes walk from the main shops which are very expensive in Tsilivi, not excessive of course but factor in temperatures exceeding 30c until 8.00 pm typically and at 67 I found it tough going some days and welcomed the rented car in our 2nd week. These are the negatives if you call them negatives, however the upside is a quite superbly run boutique property, owners onsite all day every day, staff who only want to please and help you get the very best from your trip from the housekeeping team who clean everyday and provide any amount of fresh towels/linen daily. The whole complex is spotless, the pool superb, food available all day at sensible prices, its quite lovely. Would return again in a heartbeat , the only problem being this property attracts a return clientele approaching 65% plus and getting the weeks you want requires very early booking.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool have the sun until late in the evening so are quite hot unless you add AC whic...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 weeks arriving 14th July 2014. We selected this hotel based on the trip advisor reviews and they were spot on! The hotel was spotless and our room was great. We contacted the hotel to request a room with a pool view before we arrived and whilst they could not guarantee this we were surprised when we arrived as our request had been granted. The staff at this hotel were very friendly and couldn't be more helpful.
We used the snack bar most days and found the food to be of good quality and the price of both food and drinks was very reasonable.
We found the location of this hotel to be great, it was a short walk to both the beach and the village and there was plenty of pool bars in the village if you fancied a change.
Overall, we would definitely stay at the Zante Star again.

My husband and I have just returned from two weeks at the Zante Star and I have to say how impressed we were. We had read reviews before booking but, despite them all being fantastic, we were still a little apprehensive. There was no need to be. The hotel is run very efficiently and all the staff are extremely welcoming and friendly - it's a very comfortable/easy going environment to spend time in. The apartments are well equipped and, in addition to the usual kitchen equipment, they also provide salt, pepper, washing up liquid & a sponge which a lot of other self catering apartments that we have been to do not provide. We stayed in apartment 127 which was at the side of the hotel overlooking the olive trees. It was lovely & quite. Plenty sun loungers were available poolside, even when the hotel was fully occupied, and a snack menu is available until 5pm and again in the evening. The food was good and reasonably priced, as were the beer & cocktails! The pool area is spotless and plenty lilos and beach balls are available too. There are also a lot of books available in reception as well as a few games. Tsilivi is approx 10 mins walk away and is quite a lively resort with a mix of traditional Greek tavernas and modern restaurants - there's a nice mix without it being over the top. We also found the locals to be very warm and friendly. Again the restaurants we visited we're very reasonably priced. We didn't have a bad meal during our holiday but we do feel our personal favourite was Demaras which is 5 mins away from the Zante Star. We would highly recommend the Zante Star and would love to return in the future.

We just returned from our 7th visit to this amazing place (so that just sums this place up) and would find it hard to go anywhere else, the Star is about 10 mins from the centre of the town and 8 mins from the beach, all rooms and public areas are so so clean, and the girls are amazing , Eirini, Helen, Toula, Irinia ,you are the stars of this hotel and make everyone so welcome and cannot do enough for the guest, they even arrange Greek night with a delicious BBQ and entertainments for just 12 euros.

The rooms at the Star are very very clean and spacious, towels are provided, tea towels, hair dryer, they have even upgraded the bathrooms this year and replaced shower curtains with lovely glass showers doors and new bathroom mirrors and new big shower heads.

We have visited many restaurants in Tsilivi , and are all very good, but 2 that are definitely worth a visit are Avgustos (beautiful restaurant right on the seafront ) food was so good we went twice, also King Prawn (just by the Bowling Alley) run by Anna had the most amazing queen prawns here and will definitely return.

I could go on and on about this hotel but you need to visit for yourself and I am sure you will be draw back to this place, we have made so many friends here and we so miss the Zante Girls (who make this place so special) roll on 2015 - Yamas

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet weather you overlooking the Olive Groves or the pool, the rooms overlooking the...

Just back from a week at the Zante Star Hotel (apartments). Firstly, the hotel itself is a standard Greek hotel /apartment complex, rooms are lovely and clean and the maids attend daily to empty bins etc.The external areas are also kept really clean , round the pool and the hotel lobby/lounge . I did find the birds a little annoying with many birds nests spotted around the complex.
What we found absolutely amazing though were the staff , always happy to help - one member of staff even escorting us to the local hospital at 1 am when our daughter was unwell. Nothing was too much for any of the staff and this in itself made the Zante Star a great hotel.
Close enough to the beach and local amenities - supermarket at the end of the road- a fair walk (in the heat!) to Zakinthos Town should you want to go to the Islands capital.
Local tavernas are good value for money too.
All in all a good relaxing holiday all round.

Room Tip: If possible try and get a room overlooking the pool in the second block .
