Stayed 9 nights as First Choice messed up our booking and we had to stay 5 night in a different hotel.

Found Zante Star to be extremely clean. Reception staff always greeted you and were friendly. Pool crystal clear and always plenty of sunbeds.

On the downside (and I'm sure I will be pounced on by the regulars). Room a little small for 4 with no table except on the balcony (& only 3 chairs). Our room was noisy as the hotel comes to life once everyone returns from dinner. It is nice though as everyone gathers in the reception/lounge. However our room was 2nd from the reception and opposite the stairs to upper floor and lower toilet so all we could hear were flip flops, heels going up & down, the hand dryer and voices. This usually stopped around 2am and wasn't unbearable but could be difficult if you have small children and I'm sure the rooms overlooking the pool would be quieter. There was no sound at all until around 9am so you could sleep in!!

Air con is very costly, 9Eu day, 50 a wk or 90 for 2wks.We managed without, proping open front door while eating and leaving patio door open. Patio doors stayed open all night too, these were never locked and had absolutely no trouble.

Beds very comfy, good size fridge, small (but adequate) kettle and toaster.

Beach a bit of a trek (a good 10mins) but well worth it, the sea is lovely.

Dinner again a bit of a walk but if you embrace it, you do get used to it. A gentle stroll around 20mins. Popeyes is the best, Sweet Revenge also good. Ate at Stamnes and Zeus at the other end of town which were both good but wouldn't really bother walking that far for it. Meals very reasonably priced at hotel, Pizza lovely but avoid the Carbonara unless you don't know how it should be cooked!

Wouldn't worry about Turtle trip, we saw 1 turtle and cost us 67Eu for the priviledge!!
Did small waterpark, walkable, was free from our 1st hotel. Trip round island to see Ship wreck (beautiful).

We don't return to any hotel as we want to try new adventures but I can see why people do. For a Greek hotel it really is outstanding. Nicely furnished, comfy and above all very clean. If you were to know everyone there it has the feeling of being a big family get together as it is so relaxed.

We stayed at this hotel with our entire family for a wedding, there were more than 50 of us and the staff at the hotel could not have been better. The 3 sisters could not do enough for you and made our stay very special.
This has to be the cleanest apartments I have ever stayed at.
The pool is great and there are plenty of sunbeds so you dont need to reserve!
The food was always hot, as ordered and of very good quality.

We would definately return here.

Just come back from 2 weeks at The Zante Star, everything it was said to be.Where to start is the problem, location fantastic, staff amazing, very friendly and accomodating, food fantastic and reasonable, everything kept very clean.Rooms were basic but they do have kettle and toaster in kitchen which I have'nt had in Greece before.
Air conditioning was about 100 Euros for 2 weeks but we hired a fan for 25 and found it enough as there were only the 2 of us.Safety deposit box key was 22 Euros for 2 weeks.
Olympic rep was very nice, but a little vague.
Nearest supermarket was 5 minutes away, well stocked for the essentials.Beach as about 10 minutes walk, while there We stayed at The Barracuda Beach Bar,Staff were very attentive, plenty of Sunbeds(6 euros for 2 and a table),food was very good and reasonably priced.
Tsilivi centre was about 15 to 20 minutes walk, depending on how hot it was at the time.
Some very good places to eat, including,Sweet Revenge(food and staff wonderful),Popeyes,Athena's,The Majestic,The Olive Tree(very nice). If you wanted some traditional English food, try Grace's Pub Grub.
Another very nice place to eat was The Balcony, turn right from the supermarket and its a 10 minute walk up a slight hill, but very well worth it.It's about 200 feet above sea level,so imagine the views. We arrived just as the sun was setting,an amazing sight. This was our most expensive meal, roughly 60 euros for a 3 course meal.coffee,2 beers and 2 glasses of wine,we thought it was good value for everything.
We went to Zante town,10 euros in a taxi, although there is a bus that goes there from Tsilivi Town. Went on a trip to see The Turtles, went with Olympic(18 euros each),that was well worth it,for us ,anyway.
All in all we would rate this holiday as one of the best we have ever had, everything taken into account.

When we arrived at Zante Star it was everything the reviews said it would be. Fantastic place to stay, lovely and clean .The food was amazing and very reasonably priced, you must try the zante star special pizza! big thumbs up to the cook. The staff are so warm friendly and would go out of their way to help you if needed. Then theres the resident dog Mickey a sweet little thing but could be a bit short tempered now and again but wouldnt you with nearly everyone trying to stroke you! i had two young children so dont be put off with him. The pool was a fantastic size and plenty of sunbeds available. Its not that far to beach or main town of tsilivi its a fairly quiet road and well lit at night. We tried a few resteraunts our favourites being the King Prawn its a seafood resteraunt but does sell greek cuisine aswell. The Balcony resteraunt is good and has garlic mushrooms to die for!.You must go to the greek night at the Zante Star the food was delicious even better than some of the resteraunts in town ! the dancers were great if your shy hide away when they come to get you up ! If we could take the Zante Star to every greek island we visit we would its such a great place. Oh and if your going on any boat trip we recommend the Levante boat trip with Captain Spirros! what an experience its a small boat holds 36 people, under 11's sit up top with the captain they all wear life jackets and get to drive the boat mine loved it, even adults got to drive it.I had read reviews that he was a madman what a load of rubbish, you wont get better.

We have just got back from 2 weeks at the Zante Star ... lovely friendly staff who always had time for you no matter what the time of day, very well kept reception and pool areas. Clean and bright and vey welcoming, room was excellent and overlooked the pool with lovely views. The greek night was great fantastic dancers and good food, great atmosphere.
Tsilivi town was only a short walk with plenty of restaurants and shops, we loved Family restaurant, sardines were to die for ! Lovely people. Also try The Balcony which is about 15 min walk from the Zante Star instead of turning left to go into the town turn right up the hill on the coast road to Zante town past the large hotel on your right, this place is amazing wonderful sunset views, mouthwatering food, try the banana juice, a lovely chilled place to relax.
We hired a scooter from Theos for 9 days, nice english lady very helpful. Saw most of this wonderful island and saw 5 turtles, 2 of them when we took a pedalo out from Kalamaki ! Loved the little island at Laganas ( Agios Sostis ) 4 euro entrance but you do get a free drink. All in all a fantastic island !

Me and my girlfriend went to Zante Star for two weeks in June and it was one of the best holidays I have ever been on.

All the hotel staff are so so friendly all of the time. They all work so hard to keep everyone happy, always thinking about others before themselves and making sure everyone is having a great time. They always have a massive smile on their faces and they are great to talk to, it's like a second family, they make you feel really welcome.

Everywhere is so clean all the time and I can't stress enough how hard they all work and pull together, I think it's really important that people realise it because I couldn't have been more thankfull. As I said everywhere is so clean all the time, the bar/reception area is very modern and nice and open. Irina behind the bar is really friendly and always has a smile on her face. The room we had was very nice, clean, modern and had lots of room. The resort itself is great it has a little bit if everything, lively, chilled, and very beautiful views.

The food is amazing! Almost everywhere is good to eat otherwise the restaurants wouldn't be open. We found that 'zorbas', 'olive tree' (not olive garden), and 'demaras' were gorgeous. 'Demaras' is family owned and has a real original Greek feel to it, massive portions and they grow everything fresh on their land behind the restaurant.

If you want to go to the blue caves/ ship wreck on a boat tour do not book with a big tour operator like Olympic or any others you see in the tsilivi town centre as they go when everyone else does and it's literally like cattle all being crammed into one space, thousands of people flock onto the shipwreck beach and I can imagine it's not fun at all.

Instead, do what me and my girlfriend did. We read on here about a man called 'Levante' and he's being going to the blue caves/ship wreck for over 20 years. He uses a much smaller boat that seats about 20-30 people and his trips are simply amazing! You get to go early in the morning to the shipwreck when no ones there and you go inside the blue caves which the bigger boats cannot do. His name if I remember it correctly is Spiros, he's a great guy! Really friendly and makes sure you have a great time, which you definitely will. His wife and crew are also great company and lovely people to be around.

Tsilivi town centre is only a 10-15 min walk away and has everything to offer. Zante town is about 5 mins away in a taxi and doesn't cost a lot at all. I would advise visiting Zante town as the harbour is amazing and again lots to see and do there.

It took me a while to leave this review but I'm glad I did because people need to know how great this hotel/resort is. The hotel should be a five star purely because the staff make it what it is, they all work so hard, a big thank you to the cleaners too that help out with Greek night too. The staff really do pull together when times can be hard on them and you really do see this when you go, everyone looks after one another, it's like one big family and they welcome you with open arms.

This hotel is full of love, laughter and life, and you won't want to leave. There's so much to say I can't remember it all, oh have a chocolate creppe from 'sweet revenge' with cream, they're amazing! The beach is again only a 10 min walk and the hotel food is actually really nice as well.

Irene, Irina, Zoe, Hellana (sorry if I spelt your names wrong) thank you all so much for making our holiday what it was, we came to tsilivi for a two week holiday but it was so much more than that, we made some great friends including yourselves. You're all really lovely people and pull together when it matters most. Thank you all for a fantastic holiday!

Lots of love James and Lauren (Athinula) x
