We really enjoyed our recent stay at the Lesante Hotel. The staff are exceptional, really friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The restaurant has an elegant quality feel to it and the food is quite delicious. Buffet style for breakfast and dinner.. we loved it.
Our view from our room could have been better, just a green net fence and I could have strangled the cockerel which crowed numerous times throughout the day. It has to be said, we considered the wines in the restaurant to be expensive.
The hotel is situated just down the road from Tsilivi beach which really gets very busy especially at weekends. This is not one of the best beaches on the island, but at one end of the beach you'll find the Paradiso taverna, it's well worth a visit for both the food, drink and atmosphere.

Staff here are all very professional and friendly. They go out of your way to make your holiday relaxing and special.

I imagine in the height of the season sun beds will become scarce after 9am but there's no reservations of them and I've just watched the pool bar staff remove towels from some beds someone had tried to reserve!

The rooms are kept very clean but do bring your own shower gel as the complimentaries are tiny. (I didn't realise people weren't bringing their own until I had a conversation with another guest who was relying on the hotel's!)

Breakfasts are ok, plenty of choice. The crepes with either chocolate or lemon are gorgeous. Cooked fresh while you wait, omelettes too if you want.

We didn't dine here as like to get out and about but we do wish when we arrived we had been told they do cocktails by the pool at night. Only discovered this 10 days into our holiday, it's a pleasant way to end an evening.

It's not really a childrens hotel, unless they like sitting on a sunbed reading. There are no pool games and as not many children seem to stay here no one for them to make friends with. Bring your kids and you'll spend your holiday finding things for them to do.

TV channels very poor. To say a good 30-50% of guests are British, there are only two channels to view in English. We are told they can't get a reception for them....very puzzling! The only way of keeping up with Uk news is to buy a paper.

You are asked not to load your fridge with drinks, but while we've not gone overboard we have used the fridge for milk and a couple of cans without problem.

We've seen two weddings while here and the spa staff got the brides ready. Both looked stunning. The spa staff are friendly and the treatments are priced comparable to a spa day in England.

There are some oddities which made us chuckle. The bathroom window and the constant watering of an already very wet grass, but these are tiny little quirks that make you smile.

We've had a really lovely time. We've met some really lovely people. I doubt we'll cone back as we don't tend to revisit the same places over and over, but we would definitely recommend this hotel.

Regards the comments re 5star. For goodness sake of course it's not like a 5star in a big city....but hey nor does it charge the nightly rates of a 5star in a big city. Compared to other Greek Island hotels it's worthy of its 5star status.

The hotel has a lovely stylish atmosphere. When you first walk in the lobby is modern, clean and welcoming. The rooms don't disappoint either. The food is fresh and tasty and a good selection for all tastes. Restaurant staff were excellent. Was taken ill during my stay and the staff could not do enough for us. It was very adult friendly but not so sure it is designed for families. The pool is cold and the drinks expensive but over all I would definitely return for another couples or a girlie holiday!

We stayed at the Lesante Hotel at the beginning of June and had a great stay.

The rooms, pools and public areas of the hotel were of five star standard and the service almost without exception was brilliant.

The cleaners and bar staff deserve particular mention. We're not particularly early risers and our room was cleaned to an excellent standard regardless of how lazy we were feeling.

Drinks were expensive, typically spirits and cocktails were between 7 - 8 euro but the spirit measures were very generous which is just as well as you could spend a fortune getting merry on those prices. Poor bar service in the evening was really good and the barman and waitress stood out.

The room was ok in size, the bed really comfortable and the bathroom was decorated with all mod cons including mood lighting, his and hers basins and a very weird electrically operated blind for the large glass panel which if left open you had the pleasure of seeing your partner take a shower (or worse). Not sure what the purpose for this was really but each to their own!

There was the usual towels on the sunbed at dawn malarkey but we didn't have a problem getting a sunbed other than on one day where there was a big wedding party. This caused some problems with bar service in the evening too - if I'm being picky the hotel could have been better prepared to deal with such a large party as well as regular guests (we were waiting a long time for drinks that evening).

We really enjoyed the food, we were on half board and ate in the hotel in the evening three times the week that we stayed and all were really tasty with a good selection. Breakfast was ok but a bit samey.

All in all a great stay and finished off nicely with a complimentary half bottle of wine, mugs and some sweets to take home with us - a really nice touch.

We don't often return to the same place as we like to try new things but we'd definitely consider returning. The hotel was great, staff were excellent and we really liked Tsilivi.

Dear Guest
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a trip advisor review.
We are extremely pleased to hear that you enjoyed a lovely relaxing stay with us and that you were satisfied with so many aspects of your holiday.
Thank you for mentioning departments of the hotel that you were particularly pleased with.
It is hotel policy that reservation of sun beds is not permitted and we appreciate our guests’s co operation in this regard to ensure a relaxed experience.
We also encourage all guests to inform us of what they may wish to enhance their dining experience with us during their stay in the event that there may be something specific that may not be included in the wide variety on offer. In terms of the pricing of beverages, all beverages include 23% VAT which is approximately s , our prices are based on serving only brand name alcohol and beverages to ensure the highest quality at all times as well as the venue we provide to enjoy these beverages with very high service levels of course, relatively speaking this would be well within range of market related revenue based on the nature of our business and the location. We do apologize for a possible delay in bar service on some days where events were being held in the hotel and we appreciate your understanding.
It would be our pleasure to welcome you back for another great stay with us.
Kind regards,

Stayed in a premium double between the 30th of May & 10th of June bed & breakfast option. First impressions were good as our luggage were taken from us to be sent up to our room & we were given Champagne which I normally wouldn't drink but this was tasty, we were also escorted to our room. Room was lovely & spotlessly clean the maids do a fantastic job, I also liked the slippers & robes. The only few complaints I had was that the shower in our room wasn't the greatest it didn't seem to have any power behind it but we did have a big whirlpool bath & also I would of liked to of been able to store some of my own things in the fridge.
Staff very friendly & helpful especially at breakfast. Thought breakfast was good although food was just warm unless you had the omlette which was cooked to your taste while you waited. Pool areas were fantastic & so were the staff at the pool bar. We had lunch a few times at the Neptune but found this a hit & miss & on the last occasion my pork gyro had what looked like the end cuts of an over cooked bit of pork in it & was so chewy I couldn't eat it so we then decided to eat out for lunch. We did spend quite a bit of time in the spa but a couple of days before the end of our holiday a member of the spa team came in & told us to be quiet which I found rude & upsetting as we were having a conversation about the hotel with another couple in there & were not being overly loud but it obviously does echo in there & makes it sound louder & so I didn't go back in there again. The Lasante hotel is in my opinion the best hotel on the island, is it 5*? probably not compared to the one I stayed in Egypt but probably is compared to the rest of the hotels on the island & we are therefore waiting for the rooms to come out in October as we plan on booking again for June as i loved the town, people & restaurants especially the restaurant Yum Yum & had 8 nights of our holiday eating here.

My girlfriend and I booked the hotel based on the ratings and comments we saw on tripadvisor. I will try to give an objective review of what we experienced.

First off, we were very disappointed on the location of the hotel. Even though it is close to the beach, there is nothing else around the hotel except from some corn fields and a road.
The hotel itself looks very good (at a first glance), the staff at the reception is very helpful. We checked in late in the evening (9.30-10PM) so we couldn’t eat at the hotel restaurant as it closes at 10PM. We were recommended a restaurant outside of the hotel – 5 minutes walk (on an unlit road). There were several issues with the room that I found unpleasant and surprising for a 5star hotel – the couch and the curtains weren’t very clean as they had some stains on them, the pillows smelled of mold (which we immediately reported to the reception and got changed), the vent grill above the toilet was looking as it was about to fall on your head (I reported that also and it was fixed).

The breakfast options are quite many but there is no change in the menu – you get the same variety of options every day (same cheeses, same fresh vegetables, same jams etc). There are 2 other locations where you can eat during the day (withing the hotel premises) – the nectar pool bar, which serves drinks and snacks but also some food such as club sandwiches and gyros, and there is another mini restaurant (I forgot its name), where you can eat lunch by the pool – the only downside is, both the restaurant and the nectar bar have the same menu – so you could actually eat on your sunbed if you wanted to. We had a bad experience with the food at lunch – my girlfriend ordered some prawns and they were bitter and very dry. We spoke to the restaurant manager about this and he apologized (and did not charge the prawns) but the experience was enough to make us go outside of the hotel for lunch, or dinner for that matter.

Moving on from the food experience to the pool area, there are enough sunbeds around the pool and the 2 pools are enough to satisfy one’s need for swimming. We did find the water kind of cold (and we weren’t the only ones). One more thing about the pool area – if you want a drink, you need to go to the Nectar bar yourself and order, nobody is going to ask you if you would like to order something otherwise.

Leaving the hotel aside – we felt that Zante is not the best Greek island out there. Tsilivi, the closest village (as I cannot call it a town) to the hotel, is only 7 minutes away (walking distance) but it’s made out of 1 street that is full of bars and restaurants. The good think about these restaurants is that most of them have very good food and the staff speak English, the bad thing – the food and drinks are a bit pricey.

The closest beach to the hotel was very poor, dirty and the water was not at all clean or clear (although it was very blue). There are a lot of old buildings that are left to degrade and a lot of bushy plots of land in the hotel’s area. Also, beware of the stray dogs that roam around Tsilivi – we didn't have any problems with them but late an night, when you come back to the hotel (if you come by foot) you need to be careful.

As an ending to my review, we weren't at all delighted with our choice on the hotel or Zante for that matter. I would not rate this hotel to be a 5 star hotel – I would rate it as a 4 star hotel at best. Try to do some research before booking it, especially on the location and things to do around the hotel.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your time in providing us with feedback following your stay at our lovely hotel.
The centre of Tsilivi resort which is a lively resort that has much to offer the visitor , is a close walk along the beach from the hotel or a few minutes walk along the road, generally with our hotel being an island resort , there are mostly olive groves and fields in areas where there is no property development which offers a natural unspoilt beauty.
The standard of housekeeping within the hotel is extremely high and constantly checked , with the hotel being in high occupancy since the 01 May thus the room that you were staying in having accommodated many guests prior to your arrival , such an incident was never reported by previous guests , we were happy that we could rectify the matter and provide new pillows for your comfort. In order to maintain the level of service for our guests during their stay with us Neptune offers guests the luxury of being able to order from the A la Carte menu and not have to move away from their sun loungers in order to enjoy a lunch, this affords the choice to the guests to choose from the restaurant setting or to remain by the pools. We apologize for the inconvenience caused with one of your meals not being to standard and of course we removed this charge , we do hope that an entire menu and culinary variety will not be judged based on one unfortunate incident, we have taken note that you were not satisfied with the service ,and we are looking into the matter and this will of course be rectified immediately, The resort of Tsilivi is not just one street it spans a substantial area and offers shops, bars restaurants , a water park and playgrounds for children. Our hotel has a Concierge who is always on hand and will always make the time to sit with the guests and he could have designed the perfect experience for you of this beautiful island with suggestions to suit your taste. Zakynthos Island offers some of the Officially best voted beaches in Europe, Tsilivi Beach is a Blue Flag awarded beach and we are sorry that it was not suitable for you. With regards to the mention of stray dogs, there has never been a problem reported regarding this and if one had arisen we would have reported it to the relevant authorities in order for this to be dealt with in the appropriate manner. Most of the island resorts in Greece have natural surroundings which of course city hotels do not have. We believe that you may have had a totally different experience with us if you had informed us during your stay that you were not satisfied with the island and other aspects , we would have made all efforts to ensure that you did not leave this beautiful island disappointed.

We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back to our hotel for a much better experience of Zakynthos.
Kind regards,
Lesante Luxury Hotel & Spa

We stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks from the 29th May with my parents. We had booked a premium deluxe room with Thomas Cook, on arrival we were shown to our rooms and as I had stayed there before I knew we had only been allocated a standard room. I advised the gentleman who had showed us to our room of this and provided him with the paperwork. As the hotel was fully booked they were unable to move us until the next day and blamed Thomas Cook for not notifying them of the types of rooms booked on the spreadsheet they provided to the hotel, watch out for this. They did provided a bottle of sparkling wine and a plate of fruit in each of our rooms by way of apology.

The hotel itself is lovely and by Greek standards it's the best I have ever stayed in. We only ever ate in the hotel at breakfast which was nice enough but a bit repetitive.

Even though there is a sign at the pool bar about not reserving sunbeds this isn't enforced and if you went down to the pool later then 9am you would sometimes struggle to get a spot even though there weren't many people about. Due to this we preferred to go down to the beach which is only a couple of minutes walk. The Barracuda Bar has sunbeds on the beach at a cost of €6 a day for 2, they also have a waitress service and the facilities are ok. It did get very busy at the weekend with young Greek people but they weren't really any bother.

The hotel is about a 10/15 minute walk to the resort centre. The only annoying thing about this is when returning at night they would lock the gate at about 11:30pm so you would need to walk around to the main entrance along a road with very poor lighting and people driving like maniacs along it.

As mentioned in other posts if there is a wedding party at the hotel they do tend to take over, this is understandable due to the number of people in a wedding party but they need to consider that there are other people trying to enjoy their holiday too. On one of the days we decided to spend our day at the pool a group from the party were quite loud and carrying on a bit too much, after all this is a supposedly 5* hotel not a Club 18-30.

We would stay at this hotel again in the future as to pros definitely outweigh the cons.
