“Fantastic holiday, first holiday abroad in 22 years. Son's first ever.”
Reviewed 27 October 2010

We had a week from 17th-24th Oct 2010 i read the reveiws and really worried myself silly .As we had not been abroad for 22 years and our 13 yr old son had never been i wanted it to be perfect. We flew Monarch no complaints at all. Arrived at the hotel a little later than expected due to a thunder storm. Staff very efficient checked us all in quickly. On the way to our room 103 i could feel myself getting a bit anxious wondering how bad the room would be, when we walked in i was thinking "well whats wrong with this?"
After the lady left we all looked around ,balcony great over looked the pool and bar. Beds were 2 singles and another single with a pull out underneath. The sheets were all very clean and crisp probably starched, and pillows .Believe me i am fussy about where and what i sleep on-and i had no problems sleeping on the bed.The bins were emptied every day towels changed the 3rd day along with the sheets ,floors swept & mopped every other with bleach -you could smell it.As for Tsvilli we loved it gr8 places to eat & drink. We ate at Nemisis -little bit more money not excessive tho and well worth it, also Dionisis just around the corner from the hotel value for money, lovely house wine. The jolly roger gr8 entertainment and breakfast. Molly Malones crazy golf is a must.Only let down was the beach. As for the flys well you get them anywhere! On leaving the hotel the owner gave my son a t-shirt as a souvenier. We came back totally relaxed and happy!! Would we go again definatley!

We booked this only 2 weeks before we went. I did check out the reviews on here beforehand. The rooms are fine, yes basic but very clean and that was what we were looking for. The crockery were all oddments, which could easily be recified. The shower room is small but then how much time do you spend in there. We had a lovely balcony on the side of the hotel that was very quiet and my favourite part of the hotel.
The pool was very very clean and the area around very pleasnt too. I found the staff to be very friendly and only too keen to cater for any requests we had.
It is in an excellent location being very close to thebeach and some great bars and places to eat. We were surprised how little we had to spend on a meal and wine, usually only about 20 euros for the two of us including wine!
We would definitely go back there.

Found this late booking for mid Sept. an excellent value package. Did not expect too much for the price, but was pleasantly surprised. Rooms are very basic and shower very small, but they are kept clean and are quite comfortable. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Enjoyed the Greek night with dancing around the pool. English breakfast VERY good value. No trouble getting sunbeds and pool water fresh and clean. Great location near beach, and many tavernas nearby, was spoilt for choice but would recommend Romio's .
Would be happy to visit again.Great budget holiday.

We wanted a last minute deal for a week in the sun and managed to find one for £500 for two us, through Olympic staying at the Alamis.

I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for, so I was not expecting a luxury hotel and when we arrived I was fairly happy with the standard of our room, 39b. The room was equipped with a small double bed, and a single, a wardrobe, one bedside table, a small tv (no signal) and a dressing table with a chair and hairdryer. The kitchen area was very small, with an old looking 2 ring hob, a kettle, toaster and the usual kitchen bits - we intended to eat out every night anyway but you would no way have been able to cook decent meals in here for a week!

The sheets were clean, blankets were a bit musty and the towels were a bit past their best! However, a cleaner came in every day and mopped the floor, cleaned bathroom emptied bins and our towels and sheets were changed twice during the week.

The bathroom was my real gripe because the drainage point in the middle of the floor did smell quite badly, and the hand held shower was annoying! The shower was fully tiled so for the sake of putting up an attachment on the wall for the shower it would make a big difference!

The air con was very, very expensive at £50 for a week, and the safe was soooooo small for £20. I will agree with people in previous reviews who said the family are quite sour faced too, the lady in particular was quite rude! Bar staff were lovely though.

The pool was fine, freezing cold when you first get in but quite nice in the 30 degree heat! Sun lounger availability was never a problem, although very tightly packed together.

My last moan as such is more to do with Olympic - we arrived on an early morning flight on Monday, arriving at the hotel at 8am. We were able to check straight into our room but later told that this early check counted as our first night, meaning that we would have to check out on Sunday at 12 noon, despite the fact we weren't being collected for our return flight until 3am on Monday morning. We therefore had to pay another £30 to change to another room for this 15 hour period. For the record we changed to room 40 and it was very grotty! So watch out for your flight times.

On a slightly more positive note, the hotel's location is faultless. You are minutes away from the main strip and the beach (Sea was beautiful but not really a sandy beach). There are loads of restaurants to choose from and the best for us were Nemesis, Zeus and Romios - fab meals in all of these, about 30 Euros for two course meal and a carafe of local wine. Georgio's was also nice but a bit more expensive. We ate at The Olde Vineyard which was recommended on here but we were quite disappointed, food was average. We also ate at Asian Palace which wasn't very good.

Bars we enjoyed were Molly Malone's, always a great atmosphere, Utopia and the Ark Bar which does lovely cocktails. We had brekkie and lunch in the Sunset Bar just up from the hotel a couple of times, brilliant prices.

Played mini golf which was a good laugh!

We had a lovely holiday and would really recommend the resort, the array of restaurants and bars make for a great night out and the weather was perfect. I would recommend the Alamis to an extent as the room was ok for the amount of time we spent in it, as was the pool. But our cheap last minute deal became quite alot more expensive when the air con, safety deposit box and additional night was added on! A few minor changes and Alamis could really be a gem - a new order of towels, addressing the drainage smell, fixing the showers to the wall and lowering the air con charge and I would go back!!!

Just got back from the alamis apts stayed for one week room 201.The apartments are very basic but clean & towels changed every other day(.You can ask for extra sheets pillows or towels if you need them.) We had a small balcony upper floor with pool view & sea view a added bonus.Yes there is probs with drainage & damp smells but this is greece & not spain!!!.The owners were always helpful & worked very hard in the hot weather 40ds.I felt that the air com was expensive at £50 a week & £30 for the very small safe that just fitted a mobile phone & passports in it!!! air com a must as weather was very hot..We met such wonderful people in the apts all british as apt are exclusive to olympic only.Right the important bits Tsilivi is lovely & plenty going on in the evening bars shops restaurants tavernas, karaoke etc .I traveled with my 21yr old daughter & thought I was in for a peaceful holiday, not so but that was my choice to go in the lively 2 brothers bar & molly malones.(a must) The two brothers bar is brill with live entertainment & they are all raving mad!!!!.The nicest restaurant we ate at was Nemisis & Romeo's never had a bad meal in the entire week. The beach is pebbly but lovely we stayed at freddies beach 2 sunbeds & parasol only 6 euros.all day good value. The best cocktail bar we found was breezes bar & the two brothers bar.Now for the BAD bits,DO NOT book a glass bottom vip boat trip with NEFI TOURS excursions its a big rip off. The boat trip smugglers cove along with the sand spa never took place due to weather conditions we went out to sea in a thunder storm sea very choppy & dangerous should never have sailed out!!!!We never got to stay to do the full excursion as it was to dangerous so why oh why put 50 peoples lives at risk money yes thats all money!!!!!We complained later that eve & they diddnt care less no appologies or any concerns with no refund so PLEASE beware of this company I would NOT RECCOMMEND.Book with your rep. They were extremely VERY RUDE nice on the day of booking & thats all. This was the down side of our holiday but all the rest of it very enjoyable.
