Wonderful hotel smaller than expected but still o k.Thomas cook rooms are not very good.We had a balcony looking into a little passage where the toilets were, that was our only view,if we went back it would be with thompson as they have the best rooms and all the upper floor rooms.Best thing is right on the beach but also close to bars and restaurants down side not enough sun beds at pool had to get up really early to get on and sunbeds on the grass had to be paid for and also on the beach

Room Tip: book with thompson, better rooms.

Took a week at the end of September with a girlfriend for a relaxing break in the late summer sunshine.
Booked the hotel as wanted to be in a beach front location, and this hotel certainly ticked that box.
The hotel only has about 40 rooms and is directly on a narrow strip of sand, but a few yards to the right or left of the hotel and the beach opens out and there is plenty of room to sunbathe on the sunbeds, which cost approx 6 Euros for 2.
The hotel was clean and our room was perfectly ok for our weeks stay. Nothing luxurious, but this was to be expected of a 3* smaller Greek hotel.
The staff were most helpful (the night porter not the most cheerful chap on the block), but at least someone was on duty through the night should it be required.
Rooms were cleaned every day, and we were lucky to have a room on the first floor with a sidewards view towards the sea. Chap next door complained that our air conditioning unit was noisy when we had it on, but on walking around the town it seemed no noisier than any of the others I heard.
We were on a bed and breakfast basis, and the breakfast was a continental affair and enjoyable.
The hotel has a lovely beach bar overlooking the sea and we enjoyed lunch there a few times, although ate at night in the main town, which has a good selection of bars and restaurants.
The hotel bar does tend to show only sport, and a few times when there were Premiership matches on it became a little noisy, but not rowdy
The pool area is kept very clean, but as with all pool sunbeds, they were taken up each day by early morning with people putting out their towels long before they actually came to sit around the pool. I think this should be stopped as there are not very many sunbeds actually around the pool, and reserving them is unfair.
The actual town of Tsivili is typical of a Greek tourist town, with a mix of bars, restaurants, shops and the rest. Do eat at the local places and try the local dishes. The town is suffering because of the influx of the All Inclusive hotels, which never offer the same quality of food, but churn out bland buffets....and these bigger all inclusive hotels tend to be owned by larger companies, so the profits are going away from the local community....As an example: if you stay at a Thomson or First Choice all inclusive hotel, most of the profit goes back to the German economy, who actually own both Thomson and First Choice (so many people believe that these are UK companies, but they were sold out several years ago)
Took a day trip to see the shipwreck...went on an early morning sailing so the actual beach where the wreck is was very quiet. the only downside to this is that the beach was in the shade as the sun doesn't come over it till afternoon...but the actual day trip was very good, and i opted to book the trip with a local company, Nefis Travel who offered a very good price and were extremely well organised. Again the monies went back to the local economy which I feel is important.
I feel that the Phoenix Beach offered good value for money and would return again.

Room Tip: Request a room with a sea view....I had room 201, close to reception and at end of row , sideways fa...

The staff at this hotel are amazing. very polite and helpful. Always greeting you with a smile and there for any of your needs.

The hotel itself is gorgeous and a few steps away from the small beach. the pool is a decent size for a hotel which only has 40 odd rooms. Never had a complaint about the sun loungers always managed to get ourselves one.

The food was brilliant, large portions at cheap prices.

The rooms are average but always cleaned and decent size. Bathroom decent size bathroom too!.
We was based on the bottom floor next to the bathrooms. I have read alot of complains about that floor but once your in the room its not a problem. Yes I would have prefered a different room but i am not complaining.

The resort is ideal for any sort of holiday, there is alot of bars, resturants and shops at reasonable prices. extersions are cheap. I would advise booking these once you arrive instead of through thomas cook, and always bargain! We got to see the shipwreck tour and the turtles for just over €30 and there were nearly a full days tour. Definitly worth it!

Overall have no complaints about this hotel or the resort and I am already planning my trip next year to this hotel.

First impressions of the hotel was great right on the beach. Hotel room was very roomy we had room 306 sea view room air con, safe and fridge was 120 euros for two weeks, like its says in the brochure no tea , coffee facilities in the room a lot of people were moaning about this as did not realize this?. and paying for a fridge the fridge yes I can understand why people moan its already turned on in the room you just cant use it as its locked until you pay for it, most people brought travel kettles with them as we did so not a problem. Breakfast was ok cereals, tomatoes, beans, little hot dog sausages, fried eggs, mushrooms scrambled eggs boiled eggs, toast cold meats and rolls not too bad take sauce if you like it with your breakfast also child size cutlery which was an on going joke with us.
lots of sunbeds not a problem getting one around the pool only went on the sunbeds on the beach once 6 euros
Bar staff very friendly Rena and Myriam and the boys ,had a Greek night that was great fun and good value.
the resort was great plenty of restaurants our favourites were sweet revenge and wine and roses.
We did the ship wreck with Captain Spiros which was great fun it is a bit more 40 euros each but in my view was well worth it have done a lot of day excursions and this was one of best got everyone involved .Also took out a buggy for the day first time ever was nervous but after a little while wondered what I was so nervous about will be doing again in a car next time
we have already booked for next year not at the phoenix as could not get the dates but we will be paying them a visit.

This offers what it says on the tin. Good hotel with good facilities. All staff are pleasant and very helpful.

Rooms:
Basic yet clean and light, (307) fridge is cold and air con does the job. Maid service daily and bed changed weekly.

Food:
Breakfast, yes it is the same everyday however how many of you have the same breakfast every morning in the UK?!
Well cooked and tasty, continental with rolls, meats and cheeses, also a good selection of cereals and toast with preserves.
Bar Food: Good sized meals and not too pricey (5-8 Euro) Waiter service to the beds too if you want.

Bar:
Excellent, good stock, 2.50 for a 500ml bottle of Mythos, which is standard for the resort. Bar staff are very good and will make you drinks "off" menu.
Cocktail list is extensive, Happy hour 6-8, 3.50 euro a drink.

Reception:
Clean and light, good seating area and sky news on the TV.
Staff very helpful and will go beyond to help you out.

Pool Area:
Loads of beds, towels on by about 9am and you should be OK, (the ones closest to the bar get the sun all day!)
Drink service offered to the beds.

Overall excellent holiday, was a group of about 20 of us for a wedding, all Staff are amazing, Maria on Reception, Antony on the Bar and Kes running round doing all sorts.

If you like a good honest place and can take Greece for what it is then you won’t be disappointed.

Room Tip: Try and get 307, 308, 309, 310, they have aside sea view and get the sun all afternoon.

Visited for two weeks in July/August, with family. First impressions are great, the property is set right on the beach front and has a nice, if small pool, and a very good pool bar/restaurant with a variety of meals and drinks at prices comparable to the resort centre, with much better views. Reception is perfectly adequate but on checking in it's 35 euro for a fridge for two weeks, that has seen distinctly better days. My son's fridge had to be replaced after two days, after we told reception the condenser wasn't working. The rooms themselves are distinctly old-fashioned, down to drab décor, poor, dated TV's with limited reception and the 1970's headboards with radio built in (it didn't work). There are also no tea or coffee making facilities, presumably to persuade you to buy tea/coffee at 2.50 - 3.50 euro from the bar. On the other hand, the cleaning staff are excellent, friendly and thorough.and breakfast, although basic and with no bacon, is perfectly adequate.Non guests can also purchase a sun bed for 6 euro (we saw whole families buy one!), on the grass and have access to all the facilities that you have paid for, when there aren't enough beds for the guests.
It's such a shame as with some small tweaking, which would probably raise the bottom line price, this could be an excellent hotel.

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking the pool, as you have a great view of the Ionian sea, the mainland and Kefalo...

Fabulous hotel, loved staying here, staff very friendly. Rooms cleaned every day, fresh towels. Only let down is not enough sun beds round the pool area for amount of guests in the hotel, so feel that sunbeds on grassed area should be free to hotel residents .
