I stayed in the hotel second half of September with my boyfriend.
When we arrived there was no reservaion for us in a hotel, so not very nice start. I totally blame holidays provider for messing this up. Because Filoxenia was totally full, the could not acommodate us, so they had to find us an alternative hotel. We were well annoyed about the situation but not much we could do. They transferred us to Lagans, Majestic Hotel on their cost
At leats we could compare 2 hotels and trust me, Filoxenia WINS!
In the end we stayed in this hotel for only 4 days - that was a shame as hotel was brilliant!!!!
The staff extremly nice, chatty and entertaining.
Out of season and the hotel was still full!!!! We were looking for quiet hotel and even if was full it was nice and relaxing.
It's quite far from the beach and town centre - it did not bother us, as the beach wasn't grea anyway so we preferred to stay by the lovely and clean pool.
Rooms we fantastic!!!! Very nicely done!!! And clean.

If it comes to food, I'm not a big fan of greek food, but it was good, big choice. And very lovely chef cooking something next to you every day.

For the first time I met a choice of small and large glasses for a beer!!!! That was great as you didn't have to go to a bar avary 15 mins!

I woould definately go back and fully recommend to people.

I would recommend hiring a car or quad to drive a beautiful island around as you will not see much inside the island and may have a feeling that it's ugly. It's beautoful, but you have to see it.

Another good thing: every day entertainment, you could play but didn't have to. I found it great.

Free activities like a tennin table and football table that we used a lot...

We had very good time in there.

Hello Ola1981!

First of all, thank you so much for spending some of your valuable time to add your review on Filoxenia hotel and our beautiful island. I would like to express my frustration for the fact you did not have the chance to stay at Filoxenia for the whole duration of your holidays. I hope this did not spoil the overall experience of your vacation. In case you wish to visit us in the future you are very welcome to contact us directly to ensure your accommodation. I totally agree with your tip on hiring a vehicle to have a look around the island. It is so beautiful and there are so many hidden gems around that you can spot with a boat or a car. I hope we will have the chance to have you again here in the future and get to know you better :-) Until next time, we all wish you to have a great and safe winter back home ;-) With Love, the staff and family xxx

Just returned from a fantastic week .We had an excellent time and will happily recommend the Filoxenia to anyone .The accomodation was first class and the food was great, however, even these things were outshone by the amazing ,friendly staff. They could not have done more to make our stay such a success (a little extra word for Sarah, what a doll). No doubt everyone that was their at the same time will remember the three scottish guys who sat quietly in the corner all week.It will not be a difficult decision to come back and see you all again next year. To all our new friends from the gorgeous girls from the valleys to the characters from Bristol up to Dundee ,it was a pleasure to meet you all.

I had a fabulous week at this hotel- the staff were excellent and extremely helpful and friendly! It is the first time I have been to an all inclusive hotel and I was pleasantly surprised- there was a different theme for the food each day so it was varied and the drink selection was very good. The rooms were fabulous and very bright and clean. I was surprised the air con was extra but I have since been told this is quite common and deniably worth the money. The daytime and evening entertainment was also very good (cheesy of course but entertaining). The pools were lovely and not too cold and there was a nice variety of holidaymakers staying at the hotel ( a good mixture of young couples, older couples, families and groups of friends). I would recommend this hotel without any hesitation as it is excellent value for money

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. Although out of season, the hotel was busy, the staff were friendly and the entertainment was good. It's about a 20 min walk to the beach which is a pleasant walk. The restaurant at the hotel was good. If you didn't want to eat the buffet, the chef was always available to do something different for you.
Overall, I'd definitely go back and stay.

Just returned from my holiday having stayed at this hotel for a week.
Wonderful, relaxing and somewhat of a surprise find!
The staff deserve the first mention as they were all great!
Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were always very friendly and attentive. I have been to other places where towards the end of the season some staff did not care too much as they only had a few weeks to go, not so here.
The rooms were nicely presented with a theme to each of them be it roses, sunflowers or a beach landscape.
This was the first season the hotel had moved from self-catering to all inclusive so there is evidence of this in the rooms as you have a hot plate and cupboards with utensils in them.
The fridges are still in place which will be fantastic during the peak of the hot season.
The food served up in the restaurant is very good when you consider what most places have to use to feed their guests. I am not naive and neither should anyone else going abroad to believe that hotels will serve up the most expensive cuts of meat or finest vegetables to their guests. If they can do it cheaper and easier, they will.
The chef is doing an amazing job of providing guests with a variety of very tasty meals throughout their stay. He is very friendly and takes great pride in his work, a joy to witness.
Some comments have been posted complaining about the quality of the alcohol available.
The brochure advises that local brands are used for spirits and beers, so no-one should be taken aback when they are not given jack daniels with their coke!
U.K. hotels do the same thing! Next time you are in a hotel bar check the gantry.
Labels like high commisioner and island haven will be present for spirits like whiskey and rum.
Having said that, the quality of the local hotel spirits are inferior but having said that everyone managed to get themselves drunk quite happily.
The hotel is a 15 minute walk from town centre and about 20 minutes from the beach, though the hotel does provide a mini-bus service to the beach for you which is good.
You can get charged for air-conditioning (35 euros) and for a safe ( 20 euros).
This is not unusual and not the hotels fault! These are standard charges, you don't have to pay or use them if you don't want them,it's up to you. The holiday companies leave these details out on purpose because they can then provide a cheaper priced holiday!. Some complaints were made to reception but as I say the holiday company is aware of these facts they just don't include it in the price of your holiday as the company next to them are quite happy to let you find out about the 'extra' charges when you get there after providing you with their 'cheaper priced' holiday package.
It was our first time to this island and this hotel and we both agreed before we left that we would be returning next year as we had such a great time!

Just back from Filoxenia Hotel and have to say that the staff were fantastic. On arrival at the hotel we were taken to our rooms by the receptionist. The food was really nice and Andreas the chef always willing to cook whatever you want. There could have been more variety of puddings but what we had was very good. The rooms that we had were large, comfortable and spotlessly clean, the cleaning staff coming in every day. The pools and surrounding areas were also spotless. A huge thank you to the bar staff, especially the lovely Luca who kept us entertained the whole time we were there, we'll miss you Luca! The entertainment could have been better though Sarah did try to keep us occuppied when the storms came. The location of the hotel is a bit far from Tsilivi if you like the nightlife but its within walking distance (about 10 minute walk). Its perfect for a quiet, relaxing holiday. We would definately recommend this hotel and look forward to going back soon.

I have just come back from a fantastic week away at Hotel Filoxenia. The staff were friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The bar staff were brilliant, service with a smile. Luca we miss you! The food was just unbelievable, everything tasted so good it was difficult to know what to have, so we generally had a bit of everything. Andreas, you are a brilliant chef, shame you are so far away! Enjoyed watching the show cooking, I followed Andreas Moussaka recipe when i got home, the family really enjoyed it. Please send me your Chocolate cake recipe!!! The rooms were a good size, all different themes. Bathrooms were clean but could do with updating. Entertainment was okay, difficult when trying to accomodate different age groups but i enjoyed it. Greek night was brilliant. Only downside was its a 25 minute walk to the beach and any other shops, but the Hotel do run a minibus service. Would definitely go again.

Room Tip: either 1st or 2nd floor. We had room 330 which had nice views over the pool
