“Lovely Stay, Outstanding Staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2014 via mobile

My partner and I stayed at the Hotel Petros as we enjoy self catering Greek holidays. The hotel is lovely, the rooms are very basic with a fridge and air conditioning costing around €70 per week as "extras", but the pool and bar area are nice and so is the reception/breakfast area. The hotel is on a road which is fairly busy so there is traffic noise but not too bad. Breakfast was good with plenty of options and something for everyone. The best thing about the hotel is its' staff. They are amazing, friendly, warm people who will do anything they can to help. We had an issue with a trip we booked via our Thomas Cook rep and the receptionist was straight on the phone sorting it out for us. They were truly fantastic! Overall a nice basic hotel in a good location with good facilities and "okay" rooms.

Staff were lovely and very pleasant, the Hotel itself is in a perfect location for Shops, Restaurants and beach.
Unfortunately the hotel is located on the main road and is also situated opposite an area inhabited by a cockerel & his farmyard friends so both can get noisy at all hours {Ear plugs a must}.
Our room 304 was overlooking the pool - the rooms only faults being the shower it's curtain fell short and outside of the shower tray resulting in the bathroom flooding! and the usual hard bed syndrome which we have come to expect for Greece & Spain.

Must say we never had any problem getting a sunbed at any hour!

Our main delight was the Pool Bar area run by Julie 'what a little gem' who provided our onsite refreshment needs, she puts together some great meals and makes a mean cuppa.

Met some lovely people... many thanks Tracy for the sun oil hope the job move works out for you.

If we were to visit the area again may adopt to stay elsewhere, but the Hotel does allow non- residents to enter so it is certainly worth popping in for a meal/drink and a dip in the pool.

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Petros. It is a very nice family run hotel. All the staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you. The rooms are spacious and clean as is the rest of the hotel. If you miss breakfast for €4 you can get a full English at the pool snack bar. Pool snacks good value. Only a short walk to a host of restaurants. We will definitely go back again.

Room Tip: Free wifi in reception and pool bar areas.

The hotel is typical of the standard in Greece. Basic.

Me and my girlfriend had a room right next to the road. This might not seem like a big problem but, the road out the front of the hotel is very loud. It sits opposite a hill, full of sheep, dogs, roosters etc and all decide to fight with each other. Sometimes at 4am, sometimes 6pm it didnt really matter to them. Aside from this, constant cars, LOUD motorbikes and horses go past at all times. So if noise is a problem for you, request a room at the back of the hotel or nearer the reception.

There was also a constant banging, very subtle but constant and we had no idea where this was coming from.

The showers in the rooms are really poor. Our first 3 days we had no hot water, and reception will fob you off with some excuse. After the first 3 days without hot water, we started to get some, particularly as the sun came out. The show is one that you will need to hold rather than stand under. Regardless of what you do, the water will go absolutely everywhere so prepare for this. There is no way around it, as its just typical Greek design.

The tv in the room might not seem important when you're on holiday but it is missed when you are getting ready at night etc and with the TV in our room, it was black and white, not one channel was tuned in fully and they were all in Greek. About 3 channels is all you get also.

Another let down with this hotel is the fact they have all the facilities in the room like fridge, aircon, safe but you cannot use any of them unless you pay a fee for each one per day/week however long you want. And it isnt cheap!
This should be standard in a hotel that wants to look after its guests.

The pool bar is nice, although rather expensive for soft drinks. Large beer is about €2.50, and a Coke or similar tends to be more than alcohol (a running theme in Zante). I think we bought a bottle of Lucozade (which said 79p on the label) and a can of Fanta, at the pool bar this came to €5 which is an insanely high price. One day I also almost got food poisioning from the pool bar when I ordered some chicken which came pink. I informed the lovely pool bar waitress and she did feel really bad, refund me and cook something else, but if I wasnt as careful, it couldve been my holiday over, all for some chicken.

About 10 minute walk from centre of Tsilivi although it is about a further 10 minutes to the beach (20 minutes total)

Overall, the hotel is ok for the money, not great!

just got back from Petros, when i arrived i receiveda very warm welcomeand was escorted to my roomwas impressed with a cleanliness which was second to noneas the was cleaned everyday and clean linenwas also provided every day, I found the staff very friendly just had a couple of issues with no shower head and air conditioning not working but all sorted out within a hour.I will admitt I did enjoy the breakfast don't know why any one would give it a bad review. Pool bar very clean and tidy food reasonable price and all cooked fresh. Although the drink are a little on the expensive side. Overall had a perfect holiday, will I go back allready booked for twice next year.PS thanks for the Greek lesssons Alexandra.

Room Tip: Room 308 is quiet as it is well away from reception.

We'll what can it was amazing. As soon as we turned up we got on sooo well with Sandra and Angela they gave us a lovely room looking over the pool and Down to the sea. People moaned about the breakfast, which was more the enough and didn't go away hunger. The even packed us with one when we were going on a trip, they saved my friends burnt legs with yogurt. Thank you so much. Just to say thanks again for all your work and me and Elaine miss you lovely faces. Hope to come back soon. Take care xx
