This is our second trip to the Ariadne - we were there at the same time in August 2012. We have had a brilliant fortnight! Our 8 year old son didn't want to leave all the friends he'd made behind. The hotel and pool remain spotless, with a Bulgarian couple working hard to maintain the rooms and communal areas clean. The bins are emptied daily, and the sheets and towels changed often. Our hosts were fab - nothing was too much trouble. Thanks again to Pam, Yianni, Helen and Costas. And not forgetting Elena! We went back to some old favourites including Freddy's Beach Bar. And were pleased to discover a new gem : the Ellinon Pelagos behind the Caravel Hotel. Previously the Vineyard. Stunning views and food. Captain Spiro's boat trips remain a must. We rarely go back to the same place twice, but are planning our third trip to the Ariadne!

Felt the need to write and let you know what a fantastic place this is. The family who run it are great and really look after you. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean with the roims being cleaned every day and the pool area really looked after. We were lucky enough to have the top floor and the views were stunning.
Air con is a must in August
The hill is really not as bad as people make out - to be honest after lounging by the pool all day it was our only form of exercise....
Definitely recommend this place to anyone and would love to come back again one day.
Big hugs to all especially Elena x
Love Tracey and Andy - room 403 xx

We first stayed at the Ariadne when my 9 year old was 9 months old - and we very rarely stay in the same place twice - but we made an exception for the Ariadne, and went back in May 2013. Not much has changed - same friendly atmosphere, fabulous views, good food and drink, clean accommodation and no fighting for sunbeds. The hill was so much easier without a buggy to push up it, and the owner Helena remembered us from so many years ago (as did one of the bar owners!), and the addition of a fun rock night once a week was a big bonus - the kids loved handing out the silly wigs and glasses to the audience. Tsilivi has expanded quite a lot, and we're not ones for Brit abroad stuff, and tend to stick to the very good traditional Greek restaurants such as Drosia (at the bottom of the hill) and Dionysos and Stamnes (massive portions and a Greek night). My youngest adopted the resident cat "Ariadne" and her kittens and fed them every day - she cried when we left. Thanks to Helena and all the staff for a wonderful holiday again.

This is the 2nd time we have been to Tsilivi. The first time we have actually stayed at the Ariadne. We got married in 2011 in Zante and all are family stayed in this beautiful hotel. We spent most of the time here hence why we chose to stay there this time. The hotel is located in a beautiful location with amazing views of mainland Greece,Kefalonia and Tsilivi. We stayed in the one bedroom apartment which is a really good size for a family of 4. The family that run the hotel are the friendliest most amazing hosts you could ever want Pamela, Yanni, Helen and Costas not forgetting Pamela and Yanni's daughter Elena who is so entertaining and puts a smile on everyone's face. To sum it all up you would be a fool not to stay here and have an am amazing holiday experience. We have already started looking at going back next year and can see ourselves going back for years to come. Much love to Pamela, Yanni, Helen, Costas and Elena see you in June next year x

Great hotel, friendly staff, fantastic bar meals, clean pool, lift, always sunbeds free, spacious rooms (plus toaster, kettle, 2 ring hob, microwave, fridge and freezer, safe, air conditioning, hair dryer) great views, free wifi, greek night on Wednesdays, rock night on Fridays. The Greek night and rock night are a great way of meeting fellow guests and generally having a great laugh.
Ate out every night at the restaurants in Tsilivi during our 2 week stay and never had a bad meal. Levente speedboat trip is a must.
Thank you once again Pamela and family !!

Some preaching from the converted. We have stayed at the Ariadne five times, three with our growing sons, and twice as a couple. So we like it. A lot. We love the Greek islands, we’ve spent many happy holidays on different ones. But the Ariadne, and Tsilivi, keep drawing us back.
All the positives you’ll read from other guests here are correct. The apartments are airy, clean and well maintained. The pool area and snack bar are great for relaxation, and the hotel’s position means the loudest thing you’ll hear are the cicadas in the adjoining olive grove. Pamela and family pay constant attention to your needs. Kostas is fanatical about maintaining the pool and garden, there’s a well stocked library to replenish your reading, a good range of snacks (best tuna salad in Greece), and you get some of the loveliest views in Tsilivi thrown in.
Yes, there’s an uphill walk to the hotel from the main street– that’s why it’s got such great views . It takes about 4 minutes, and unless you already have trouble walking, it’s no bother. The reward, from the balcony apartments, is a stunning panorama taking in Kefalonia, the deep blue sea, and mainland Greece.
There’s plenty to do in and around Tsilivi, lovely beaches, good food and lots of excursions. Do not miss out on a trip aboard the Levante Speedboat. You might lose your sun hat, but it’s an experience you’ll remember.
Or you can just chill at the Ariadne. There’s a BBQ night, and a live music night. More members of the family turn up and muck in, and they enjoy themselves just as much as the guests do.
It’s a special place. It must be, because so many people keep returning.
