“Lovely hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2011

Had a great time here! Staff will do anything to help! Food got a bit boring after 3/4 days or so.. I wish there had of been free wifi (its €2 for half hr!). Rooms lovely and clean! Shower not great but did the job! Just on the beach- lovely pool area! Great place! Would recommened Nifis travel for a tour to caves. Also bus into Zakynthos to the town and harbour- nice restuarants! lovely place I will return!

Just got back from a week stay. Overall it was a lovely hotel, not far from the airport at all! Most companys lie when they say the resort is a 15 minute drive from the airport, but this really is a 15 minute drive! Our room was spotless, the maid comes every day, although i'm unsure whether the towels are fresh or just re folded! The air con is amazing, but its only free between july and august, any other months and ou have to pay 5 euro a day.

The staff are friendly, the food was ok although it got very boring after a day, best meal was breakfast. I am very dissapointed with the drink situations, all inclusive drinks you have to help yourself and all the local brand alcohol and fizz is kept on the side in the warmth, so i dont know about anyone else but a warm vodka and coke wasn't very appealing. The night time bar does a good selection of drinks although it stops serving all inclusive drinks at 11pm, meaning you have to pay for any drinks after that. Which is fine, but if i then pay for a glass of baileys and JD and coke, i don't expect it to be watered down! Entertainment was ok, it sure got every one involved during the evenings. BUT i wished they done more day time activitys, the only thing I saw was water polo, but that wasn't everyday.

There are so many trips to do, and you dont have to book through reps there are plenty of other companies dotted around the streets. There are a million shops and bars, and resturants about a 5 minute walk, and even golf and bowling. If you walk through the resort towards the beach, some people on there do some really cool water activitys.

We came home today from a week long stay in Zante Maris. Our only regret was that we were not staying 2 weeks ! We were on a half board basis and found the food plentiful and varied for both breakfast and dinner. The staff are attentive ,friendly and so helpful
The weather was great. Sunny every day with temps of around 30 degs. The nights were cool and we didnt need to use the air conditioning at all.
The entertainment at night is low key but ,again , its varied and takes in as many types as is feasible....i.e. music nights, quiz's, bingo etc .We found it a great way to get to know some other guests which was nice.
The rooms were spotlessly clean and spacious. They were cleaned every day and clean towels supplied daily too. Tea, coffee and milk is also supplied to use with the kettle and cups in each room.
The location of the hotel is ideal. It is on the beach and what a beach it is ! The soft sand and chrystal clear ,warm waters are wonderful. We went snorkelling at the far end of the beach , up near a few rocks, and found lots of different types of fish.A local man advised us to take a slice of bread with us and feed it to the fish to encourage them to come nearer. It worked ! I fed them soggy, mushed up bread bit by bit and had about 50 fish swimming around me !
The staff in the hotel deserve a special mention. They are superb. They are so helpful and only want to please. A particular mention for Bella in the dining room and in the bar at night...she is so nice. The reception staff are excellent. They are totally professional but pleasant and good humoured with it. They are so efficient and handle busy situations in the quickest and most capable way possible.
The swimming pool area is great. There are ample sunbeds and parasols and the pool is a good size and depth. The pool is spotless and the tiled area around it is kept clean and well maintained.
The only small criticism I could find would be that the volume of music in the dining room for dinner was sometimes too loud. The same C.D.'s were being used and some of them were skipping and sticking repeatedly.....a few new replacements would be
good.
It is probable that this hotel is going to be 100% ' all-inclusive' next year. I think that will be a pity. It will contribute to the removal of customers from the localitys bars and restaurants and so take from the areas atmosphere. It is not a good thing. I hope their decision will be reversed. We would never choose to go ' all-inclusive' , we would find it too restrictive. They should keep things as they are...B&B,Half-Board,Full-Board or All-inclusive.
All in all we had a wonderful holiday . Happy Holiday !

We have recently returned from our 4th year on the trot at the Zante Maris, and it was probably the best yet.
We went half board as our beloved B/B option has been removed by First Choice. We had a few misgivings about the standard of the food on half board ,but our worries soon evaporated.
The breakfasts have gone from strength to strength, with more choice than ever, from a healthy cheese, cold meat & salad option to the fullest Full English you will ever have. There is also a range of cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurts crepes ,donuts, fruit juices, tea & coffee (for a perfect coffee press the crema button followed by the espresso button)=heaven.
The evening meal was absolutely superb ,with a choice and standard which would put many top class restaurants to shame.
The staff are ALL wonderful and most of them have been there since Zante Maris opened. Special mention to Dritan,Georgia and the night receptionist Yiannis.
If the Zante Maris cleaning staff worked for the NHS there would be no such thing as MRSA. in our hospitals.
Now for the down side,Oh! there isnt one, apart from people who do not observe the evening dining room dress code.
after 20 odd years visiting Tsilivi we have found our spiritual home, and will be returning to Zante Maris on 16th september.
If there is anything you neeed on your holiday, just ask reception and they will fix you up.

My wife and I (61 and 58 yrs old) stayed at the Zante Maris from 24/6 to 4/7/2011. Overall it was a nice hotel with friendly staff, reasonable food and an amazing location right on the beach. We were on an all inclusive deal for 10 days for which we paid roughly £1400, although we're pleased we didn't pay more, as some packages suggest you can, Our room was on the ground floor but not having good views, It was described as partial sea view, which in fairness it was if you craned your neck to the left. The room was comfortable, air conditioned and very clean with room service every day including clean towels. The food was 3* I should say, not the 4* it is rated at. It was however quite nice with plenty of variation, although it does get a little samey. Three times a week they have themed nights in the beach side restaurant/beach shack, right on the waters edge. We went to the BBQ night. We saw the food being BBQ'd at 17:00 for a 20:00 kick off, (odd). They then keep it warm until the start, it didn't feel like a BBQ. Folk just queued round the long table picking off this pre cooked meat. Then there are Mexican and Sunday carvery evenings. After our experience with the BBQ we opted out. These nights are at no extra cost to half/full/all inclusive guests. This hotel has only been operating all inclusive this season and although we gave it 7/10, for us it could be better. Apart from draft lager, the soft and local spirit drinks were self service during the day. Mixers for the drinks from large 2ltr bottles were left on the bar for all to help themselves. They were not refridgerated and were often unappealingly tepid in the afternoon heat. Similarly in the evenings warm bottles, now dispensed by staff, were never cool, even after adding ice. We finished up buying branded mixers from 'their cold fridge' and costing 2 euros. If you're a lager drinker, you shouldn't have any complaints, any others expect them to be tepid., unless you pay for their branded cold mixers and soft drinks. We sort of made a suggestion how soft drinks are dispensed at home in bars from the little hand held device. Their reaction was just a shrug of the shoulders. There is some entertainment every night, Greek dancers, a waiter (Theo) who doubles up as a DJ for a disco night and then a couple of singers, And, oh yes, 3 nights of cash bingo/quiz after. Would we go again? We enjoyed it - but they must get this drinks thing sorted. Have a nice holiday.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view, then you get a sea view

yself and husband just returned from our stay at Zante Maris and cannot fault a thing about the hotel. We stayed on a halfboard basis and the food was superb! Plenty of choice from Greek to British. You can even eat as much as you like. Also, if you planned to eat out for an evening meal, the hotel will give you a voucher to go in at lunchtime instead. We couldnt believe the choice was just as good as the eveing. All the time we were there for 2 weeks, the food was varied everytime.
The room we stayed in 380 had a lovely view of the pool and the beach. It was on the 3rd floor but there was a lift as well as stairs. We had room service everyday and the room was great. They provide a kettle etc and a fridge.
The resort is very pretty and quite quiet. All the locals were very freindly and dont hassle you.
Will definitely return next year for another 2 weeks of complete relaxation at a fantastic hotel and location.
