We returned on 23rd October from this brilliant hotel. The weather was very good, only our first day saw a little rain and after that it was sun all the way. The hotel is right on the beach and the grassed area gives the best of both worlds, near the sea, the pool and of course the bar!

As it was so late in the season the hotel was probably only half full which suited us - easy to get sunbeds, sit where you like, no queues for anything! We found the food good, it is a small hotel and even when full couldn't be expected to offer the range of choice that a few people felt they should have, maybe those people should just stick to the very large hotels? We enjoyed everything on offer!!!

Our room had a fabulous sea view and was large, clean and comfortable. Towels were changed everyday. All the staff were lovely, friendly and efficient, this is a well run hotel. It is only a short walk into the main part of Tsilivi which would be quite lively during the season, things were quiet in October but enough for us.

As we celebrated a special birthday while we were there, we went to the Shipwreck and Blue Caves with Lefis Travel. Jackie, the owner, was with the group all day and is very knowledgable about Zante and it's history, all in all an excellent trip.

We were lucky enough to meet some really good company and so enjoyed our days and evenings greatly. What a lovely holiday we've had... we will go back soon!

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor with sea view.

Just returned from Zante Maris, spent 12 days all inclusive from mid Oct there. Rooms - quite large & cleaned daily(clean sheets, towels, tea, coffee, milk & 2 bottles of water) but shower over the bath flooded the floor so had to use towels to mop it up. We paid extra for pool view but not really worth it. It was end of season so pool area mostly deserted - people went to sunbeds on grassy area by beach to prevent paying 6euros for sunbeds on the beach. Pool bar was shut down half way through our stay - even more reason to go to beach area. The food was, in our opinion, pretty poor overall. Yes, there was always something that you could choose to your liking but frequently it was obvious the food was using up "leftovers" from the previous meal. Deserts particularly were very boring. Again, end of season and making use of what was left.
Entertainment was Ok most of the time but you had to wait until 10pm for it to start, when you had probably finished your meal by 8.30pm. With so few guests in the hotel why not start it earlier? - or was it so you would pay for your drinks after 11pm? Disappointing that with 3 days of rain and thunderstorms no entertainment staff to help fill the day time, except one trip to bowling alley that only a few people knew about.
The trips can be bought through Thomson rep at the hotel, but there are plenty of other companies around to choose from. As it was end of season, many trips weren't available and although you could do one to see the turtles, in fact they've gone this late in the year! Some trip organisers were honest and told you - but others didn't. We did trip around island with "special offers.com" at the top of the road - enjoyable and informative day. Local shops and restaurants closing every day and the bus service became non-existent so had to use taxis to get to other towns like Zante - about 10 euros each way.
Greek people are lovely- the staff everyone mentions Georgia, Bella, Kristos etc etc- so cheerful and as helpful as they can be.
In comparison with other 4* hotels in Greece, we don't think this one deserves more than 3stars as they have no actual entertainment staff and rely heavily on good weather.

Room Tip: Most entertainment is outside the restaurant so rooms near there are noisy until it has finished.

Spent 11 relaxing days here with friends. The hotel couldn't have been better situated; on the sandy beach and steps away from the lovely clear sea.
Our room was large and clean, overlooking the side street, with partial sea view. I think the pool view rooms could have been noisy in the season. We could have had our pick of sun loungers but, of course, we visited towards the end of the season.
One of the best cooked breakfasts I have ever eaten abroad; literally English bacon, sausages and baked beans. Lunch and dinner were fine too; always found something to our liking. The only criticism, was that the soup was never really hot (don't think other countries like it as hot as in UK) . May be a good idea to have a microwave on hand.
All of the staff were very friendly and efficient. Georgia greeted us with her smiling face in the restaurant & was always on hand for our lunchtime drink, plus Bella with her drinks trolley in the evening. Pool bar excellent for drinks & snacks ...... never been to a hotel where snack food is cooked fresh to order; yummy omelettes!
Would definitely visit again but would probably go a few weeks earlier as the weather was a little bit changeable on the last few days and hotels, shops and bars were closing by the day.
The only black spot on the hotel was that they wanted 30 euros per room to keep the room on for a few extra hours on our last day, even though no one was going into our rooms! We expected to pay something but thought they could have compromised; surely something is better than nothing.

We have just returned from 10 days all inclusive to the Zante Maris and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Location - fantastic. Right on the beach with plenty of sun loungers (6 euro if you want a sunbed on the beach). The water is so clear and so shallow. You can walk along the beach in both directions. The town in a 5 minute walk away too, perfect!

Rooms - bog standard hotel rooms but just what you need when on holiday as you are too busy to spend time in your room! Cleaned to a good standard every day. Bathroom was totally fine although shower is quite low. Fridge in room and 2 new water bottles each day. AC is extra after September but we found we didnt need it in October.

Food - good, always something that we could eat. Food rotated on a 2 week cycle and was always hot and plentiful. In the evenings there was Bella with her "drinking wagon" who came round and topped you up. Other times it was self service. Local wine and beer was very good. Measure of spirits were good too.

Pool - refreshingly cold but very clean! Good length and separate small pool for children. We had a massage one of the days it was raining and I wouly highly recommend this. The woman is fab and it is great value for money (25 euros) as she uses hot stones too which I wasnt expecting. Beware she massages nearly everywhere!!!!

Entertainment - just your typical pub type singers, bingo, quiz etc but we often went out in the evenings and made our own entertainment. Paradise bar (Elvis) is good fun as is Molly Malones Irish pub - there are two of them and we often went to the one further up the hill as they had entertainment on there most nights.
Calypso restaurant is fab and Popeyes is great for a good value meal. The Balcony restaurant at the top of the hill is worth a trip to see the sun setting.

Trips - the weather wasnt great when we were there and we had a few thunderstorms. I fancied going on the shipwreck tour but to be honest wasnt keen going out on the sea in the weather. Nefis travel were very obliging (just up the road from the hotel) but Spiros at the harbour is meant to be fab.
We did go on a day trip to mainland Greece and went to Olympia - the site of the Ancient Olympic Games. Would highy recommend. we went with the organised hotel tour (which we do not normally do) but it was good. Hour on the ferry then hour on the air conditioned bus, English speaking guide. 59 euro plus extra 9 to get intot the actual Park. Worth the money - quite a sight.

Overall I would highly recommend this hotel. The hotel staff work very very hard and are very helpful. We had a problem with crickets getting into our room (we had a light above our room which attracted them) and when we complained, they moved us without any hassle at all.

It is very good value for money and you cannot beat the location.
We shall certainly be back to Tsivili but maybe when it is a little bit busier.

Room Tip: We had a pool view (room 317( but next time we are going to ask for a sea view.

Having just returned from a week in this hotel - the first in four years !! - I was hoping for a treat and was not disappointed. The beach view was well worth spending that extra for and the staff could not do enough, so hard working, helpful and pleasant. Bella and Georgia were lovely along with many other staff who helped make this a holiday to remember. I could not fault the food either and to my amazement, despite having double helpings have not put on weight !!! If I was to mention a possible improvement I would say the bathrooms could do with sprucing up but they were clean. Despite that I would definately book this hotel again and have found on my return that I am missing the lovely guests and staff I met there.

Room Tip: Definately well worth booking a room overlooking the beach

Got back on 5 October from a week at the Zante Maris. Had a really good time, very relaxing week and I would recommend it if you are after a week of just chilling and not much else which was just what we needed. All good quality food - a little repetative but still very nice and cooked well. All inclusive does stop at 11pm which can cause a bit of a queue at the bar from 10pm onwards but that is the only thing that we had to queue for, no queuing for food at all. I would suggest a limited sea view room as all of the others overlook the bar and pool which if you want an early night away from the entertainment, you wouldn't get much sleep if you overlooked the bar so we really would recommend a limited sea view room.
Really good holiday and we definately would return.

Room Tip: Limited sea view room definately.
