Just returned from a fantastic holiday at the Zante Maris. Cannot fault anything. We had the most relaxing holiday ever. The rooms are spotless, cleaned everyday with clean towels and bedding. Bottled water every day. The staff are fantastic, you're treated like they've known you all your life. The chef, we'll what can I say, he sure knows how to cook, the food was excellent! If you plan on going on a boat trip to turtle island or to see the shipwreck look out for the guy who comes round the pool from Levante boat trips, he's called Ian, what a lovely genuine guy he is and Captain Spiros ensures you have a fantastic day on his speed boat. Again thank you Zante Maris we will definitely be coming back next year.

Room Tip: We upgraded to a superior room with full sea view, pool view rooms are also a good choice

One week was simply not long enough at this wonderful hotel! We stayed at the Zante Maris from 20th June - 27th June in room 322, which is on the top floor with a partial sea view. The room was fabulous - spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed and plenty of storage. The room was cleaned every day and we loved all the little "extras" such as daily bottle of water in the room, robes, slippers etc. We travelled with first choice and stayed all inclusive which I would highly recommend. We never had to think about money and the food and drinks flowed all week! The staff at the Zante Maris are incredible - so hardworking and always aiming to please. Special mention for Aida in the restaurant who, despite being so busy, was always ready with a smile and time to teach us our daily word of Greek! The location of the hotel was perfect - a short transfer from the airport, and the hotel is located right on the beautiful beach but with the benefit of some shops and bars very close by. Its a great mix of being not too quiet and not too busy. We enjoyed a trip to Shipwreck Island and blue caves, booked through Nefis Travel. It was a great day out and very reasonable, but the rest of the week we were happy to relax and enjoy the hotel, the sea, pool and soak up the Greek atmosphere. Thank you Zante Maris for a wonderful holiday! Keep up the good work!

Room Tip: Our ideal room would be a full sea view on the top floor, but our room - 322 with a partial sea view...

We just got back from a two week stay at the Zante Maris Hotel and I can honestly say that both the hotel and the resort were perfect. It's right on the beach, spotlessly clean, the foods good and its location couldn't be better in terms of nearby tavernas and shops. The staff simply want to please you, therefore nothing is too much trouble. We spoke to so many other guests that had returned from previous years, time after time, and the staff remembered their names from the year before. I hope they remember our names when we go back because we are certainly going back next year. The resort is also lovely as, even though there are lots of tavernas, shops and bars it has retained its Greek culture and its perfect for couples and families. It is definitely not for the 18-30 crowd but you can still have lively nights if you want them. We didn't go on any of the trips as I was ill on the 2nd week and had to go to hospital. Special thanks for their kindness go to the lovely Vassa and Zoe on reception and to Hattie, the very helpful First Choice rep. George the chef and Georgina the restaurant manager.

Zante Maris staff worked so hard to make our holiday special. Nothing was too much trouble. The "fussy" ones in our party were well catered for with spotless rooms and a good selection of tasty food. There are numerous little touches that help to make a holiday: tea and coffee in the room; lots of coathangers; bottled water daily; a good fridge; fresh bed linen every second day etc.
The staff were very courteous, helpful and most spoke excellent English. They ordered taxis for us and suggested some outstanding local places of interest.
The evening entertainment was a little hit and miss! We enjoyed watching the sun set with a glass or two at the near deserted beach bar.
I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Level one is the floor with the reception and restaurant.

Stayed for 2 weeks (13-27 June 2014) We arrived late due to a slight delay departing, however the hotel staff were aware of this, and cold plates had already been put back for us. despite the late hour, Helen was still waiting tables, and made sure we had enough to eat and drink. Thank You.
All staff from the top down are friendly and welcoming, and special mention should go to Hattie the First choice rep. On site 6 days a week and available when needed. The arrivals presentation was kept to a minimum, and no hard sell on trips etc, just the info you REALLY need.
Hotel used to be a B&B, but has developed into the AI it is now over the years. Rooms all spotless and were cleaned daily, indeed the whole complex was kept extremely tidy. There are plenty of sunbeds around the pool, and also a grassy area between the hotel and beach. By the time we left, the hotel was at 100% occupancy (a good sign) which meant your first choice sunbed may not have been available by 9am. However, further beds were available on the beach for rental. Price only €6 for 2 beds and sunshade. very reasonable.

Food: the usual AI fayre, served buffet style, with a range of hot and cold meals at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Snacky type meals (burger, toastie etc) also available from the pool and beach bars when the main restaurant was closed. Main restaurant nicely laid out, and not the "cafeteria" type feel that some hotels have. The range is good, rotating on a weekly basis and we could always find something different to try.
A recommendation would be to take up the frequent offers of specialty nights (Barbecue, Mexican, Italian etc) as this is served at the Beach Bar. You can then sit outside overlooking the sea.

Drinks: as you would expect, Beer, local alcoholics, Coffee Fizzy. All on a help yourself basis at the food bars throughout the day (please don't abuse as this is a great idea) Evening drinks served at the entertainment until 11pm, thereafter you pay half price (Real Bacardi and Coke €2/2.50 Bargain!)

Evening Entertainment: usual stuff, quiz/bingo, Greek dancing, singers, karaoke. Bit cheesy some of it, but that's not why I holiday abroad anyway, so I don't care :)

Beach: Perfect. Sandy, and shallow shelving means you honestly can walk/paddle out 60/70 metres and still not be out of your depth! Good for kids/non swimmers, and also not overcrowded.

Overall summary: An excellent hotel that more than met our expectations, and for the first time ever, when at the end of the holiday we said "Goodbye Thank You, and "SEE YOU NEXT YEAR" we really meant it.

Other notes: Please get out and try the local restaurants, good cuisine reasonably priced (€30/40 for 2 course meal for 2 with wine) we visited Koukos twice and Trenta Nova. Consider getting out and exploring the Island (we used Nefis travel for island and Turtle spotting tours, and Thomson First choice for visit to Olympia on the mainland)

Room Tip: Higher floors better (only 3 storeys anyway) we had room 304. Rooms 300 to 328 (evens) face away fro...

Having read the reviews I was expecting an excellent hotel and it did not disappoint. Location excellent. Right on the beach. Food excellent. George the chef was very proud of his food and so he should be. . I especially loved the BBQ evening..Salads were superb. I cannot praise the staff highly enough. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much bother for them. It was good to have a hotel with so many sitting out areas. The only negative was that there was no cava available at the bar. The first hotel I have been at where this is the case. I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Floor 2 gives good views
