“Amazingly rude attitude”
Reviewed 10 August 2013

Do yourself a favour and avoid this hotel at all cost.
Owner and receptionist impolite are completely NOT customer-centric!
Insufficient parking, area full of mosquitos, half of room lights not working as we'll as room phone.
Extremely noisy during Greek night.
I have really never had a worst hotel experience.

Friendly family hotel, excellent home cooking
Thank you Nikos and his family for a wonderful holiday on the beautiful island...

PS Try Gyroland in town - traditional food Pita Gyros or ice cream Greek yogurt.

We booked this hotel on recommendation by family as I was travelling alone with my two children and they assured me it was small, safe and friendly.......needless to say I was not dissapointed. This hotel is advertised in some places as a two or three star hotel so there are few facilities here but what this hotel does offer is 5 star service, cleanliness, food and the best pool! It had been arranged that we would be collected at the aiport by the hotel and the owner Nikos collected us and on arrival checked into the hotel and shown two rooms by Nikos son George, one on the first floor and one on the second floor and we could pick which ever one would be more suitable for me and my two children which was very good. We arrived close to dinner time and we went down to the bar/outside dining area where the bar maid introduced herself too as Despoira (or as by little girl called her Zebra!). We were shown the menu, offered drinks and also told where to find the specials board which were changed daily. We had booked half board so maybe just expected a main meal and a pudding or something similar but instead we were sat down with so much food such as traditional Greek Meze to start (baked feta, pastrys, fresh bread, soups, brushettas, greek salad etc), followed by anything we had chosen but on specials bored often some very good greek dishes such as Kleftiko, Stifado, Freshly caught fish etc. Always fresh local olives on the go as well! Needless to say came away from the holiday much heavier than when we arrived!
Nikos, Soteria, George & Despoira always had time to talk to us and loved the children and so patient! Nothing was too much trouble! They arranged some horse riding for us and arranged the transfer to the stables also which was brilliant trekking into the Tsilivi hills, wonderful views!
Our room was basic but that was expected as this isnt a 5 star resort but it was spotlessly clean and the cleaner went in every day to make up room and replace towels etc. As it was May when we went we didn't need air conditioning but it is available in the rooms (i'm not too sure how much - if anything it is) There was a small hairdryer in the room, a TV but only has Greek channels, our balcony looked out onto the pool and bar area. It noisy in the evenings (except Sat nights when there is a Greek BBQ night with Ouzo and dancing! - my son developed a temp that night so we missed out but it sounded fun!). I think someone previously has complained on here about air traffic noise.....Zante is a small island and I think in most locations you would see or hear aeroplanes, but it certainly didn't require you to cover your ears or feel like they were landing on top of you! You do see some air traffic but it doesn't disrupt your holiday! We are certainly going to return here, I think George told me that 37% of their business is repeat bookings and I feel that is a true testament to what a fantastic little hotel this is.

WOW! what can I say about Sunrise Hotel!?!? Exceeding expectations does not even begin to cover it. We were looking forward to a great september Holiday and the perfect base goes a long way to making this a reality. The location for all the main bars and Restaurants that Tsilivi has to offer is 'Spot On' combined with the privacy and luxury of this Hotel. The property is maintained to almost 5* standards, with everything you would need and more for a long or short break. You could easily holiday for 2 weeks or 2 months here. The quiet area feels safe for families with a great restaurant and customer service team on your doorstep. A GREECE lovers paradise! (if this is your bag?) and the pool/outside terrace area is just what you need after a long hot day in the sun! I would recommend this to anyone I came into contact with looking to holiday in Zante. Well done to all involved in maintaining and making this property available for the discerning tourist. THANK YOU - WE WILL BE BACK! Special shout-out to the main man GEORGE. He is the perfect gentleman (yet looks like he would give you a beating if you crossed him! but thats the charm of the guy) and he will do anything for you. Helpful, Informative and represents what Greek hospitality should be like. Hope you remember us george as we will remember you! (sorry this review has taken so long)

- A very dirty hotel! Unbelievably dirty... We had to ask the management to clean the room again immediately upon our arrival and still we did some cleaning ourselves!

- Extra charge for the use of air condition!! This is a rip off!! Nobody in Greece charges extra for air condition usage as it is really essential during summer in Greece with temperatures almost always above 30 degrees Celsius. Even the smallest hotel or B&B will have A/C included in the price and there is no way that this will be mentioned way ahead of the arrival...

- Breakfast: WHAT A JOKE! This was unbelievable! The guests in the room, waiting to take breakfast were about 20 people at any time and we all had to wait for a long time before anything was served! Service was extremely slow and it was obvious that there is no organized kitchen capable of cooking anything or even bring out the most basic food for breakfast (such as ... milk, bread). Don't expect anything even remotely close to omelet or anything coming out of a frying pan...

Tsilivi is a great place, well worth visiting and staying, I wish I could say the same for the hotel.

We were not staying at the Sunrise hotel but had access to it from a nearby apartment. The pool was the best pool we found, the service by the staff could not have been better and we were made to feel very welcome. I spent the day of my wedding with a group of friends relaxing by the pool and the day couldn't have been more relaxed, would definitely recommend and now i would even stay there!
