Mavrias Village Apartments

Thanks again to all the locals and their hospitality we had another fantastic holiday in Tsilivi.
Thomas cook FAIL to inform you that the facilities all belong to the Princess hotel and if busy they can not be used by those in Mavrias. Luckily the wonderful owners allowed us access for the two weeks we were there and all were more than welcoming and always had a chat with us.
Mavrias was spotlessly clean (cleaners all lovely and friendly) They had everything you need for basic self catering.
Please if you stay here pop over to childrens play area near the katerina studios (complex 1 I think) theres a gorgeous super friendly springer used for game hunting in a caged area (good size and he does come out) who loves nothing more than a good cuddle or pat :) .

Arrival and Apartment: On arrival we were greeted by the owner of Mavrias complex 1 and he made us feel very welcome. After approx. 15 mins we were shown to the apartment which was comfortably furnished and cleaned to a high standard. It was pretty basic but to be honest I eat out most nights so it suited me.

Princess Hotel: Thomas Cook failed to inform us that The princess Hotel is not part of the complex, however the lovely hotel owner allows us to use the facilities. The staff were polite, fun and accommodating. The pool area was kept spotlessly clean, the pool well maintained and security was always present. The food was good value and the drink reasonably priced. Next time i go i will stay in the hotel itself, however the apartments are good.

We had a very nice 2 week stay in the older complex, very basic but clean. Had full use of Princess Hotel bar and pool. Thomas Cook doesn't actually tell people booking the Mavrias apartments that the use of the pool and bar is down to the generosity of the owner of the Princess Hotel, which causes some friction. Would go back again. All staff are friendly and the bar snacks and drinks are reasonably priced.

Have just returned from a two week stay at the Mavrias. This was our second year here and what a fantastic time we had. This time we booked a studio for 3 and could not fault it.The apartments are in a great location with resturants and bars on the doorstep but not to noisy.Try Paradise bar accros the road for a fantastic Greek night on a monday with smashing plates and greek dancing.Yani,Christos and Tarzan make you feel so welcome. As for the food it was fantastic in all the resturants especially the majestic. Many thanks to Kyriakos the owner of our apts such a lovely man couldent do enough for you also thanks to Babis the owner of the princess hotel (which is also lovely)and Manos and Yani the barman who all helped to make our holiday so great.Look forward to seeing you all next year.

The Mavrias apartments share the facilities of the Princess Hotel which is within the same complex. The pool is a good size but not too many sun beds so get there early! The poolside bar is good, with a large comfortable seating area outside in the shade. The food menu is good value and has a great choice on offer. There were two negative points to the Mavrias during our stay. There is no main Reception. On arrival, you have to report to the coffee shop located at the main entrance to the complex. For some reason our Thomas Cook rep didn't travel on the transfer coach, so we were simply "dropped off" and the driver pointed in the direction of the hotel. It was early morning and no one around to welcome us and no idea where we should check in. The reception clerk at the Princess couldn't help. It was only later when we learned the coffee shop was the reception point. Which happened to be closed when we arrived so we had to hang around for a while. After 40 minutes we were greeted by a young lady. We were then told our room wasn't ready. She gave us a temporary room while ours was cleaned. After two hours we were able to move to our allocated room.
Also, to our surprise the bed sheets and towels were only changed after four days. If you wanted them changed sooner you have to pay six Euros. But on a positive note the room was clean and spacious but basic. Overall it was good value and we had a good relaxing week. But it was mainly down to the facilities of the Princess Hotel which made it enjoyable.

Room Tip: For a quiet room, we recommend the Mavrias 3 complex, as 1 and 2 are close to the main pool and bar...

We have been going since 2006/7 to these apartments, and we have always had a brilliant holiday, the staff are great and will do all they can to help you in any way they can, we always stay in complex 3 basic but always clean set in lovely gardens just at the rear, there is a reception area in the Princess Hotel which is part of the complex and a flight times board under the archway next to the entrance to the Princess Hotel you only need to ask at reception they will tell you anything that you want know about the Tsilivi area.

Room Tip: we find complex 3 the best place to stay as its at the rear set in lovely gardens and its very quite...
