Stayed at Kenyaways following a week long safari and were absolutely thrilled with our experience there. The location was magnificent, people were so friendly and welcoming it was really like staying with friends. So much more personal then staying at a big resort.
Food was wonderful and room was lovely.
Have already recommended it to friends as a great way to take in the beautiful Diani coast.

Kenyaways is located on a relatively unspoilt part of Galu Beach & the bonus is that it's perhaps 10-15 minutes ride by vehicle from shops, restaurants & ATMs, etc. It's a popular & busy B&B, but one may interact with other guests, who are largely from overseas. It attracts kiteboarders & some locals congregate at Kenyaways to participate in the sport when suitable winds arise. The staff in the B&B appear to be a happy crew & the staff involved in the kiteboarding operation are every helpful. There are two budget back rooms, which share a bathroom. There are 2 drawbacks: 1) ithe bathroom can be busy, if the bunkroom is well occupied; &2) During the dry season with the NE Trade Winds, the back rooms can get uncomfortably hot, even with a fan switched on. The premises does not have a noise issue, as guests often go out an evening for local entertainment. But, one can get locked out of the main house at night after the bar closes, if one forgets a key. Be warned that a booking done in the office does not necessarily mean the dates have been logged. I suggest it's best to follow up & receive an email with date confirmation to avoid disappointment.

Room Tip: upstairs front sea view rooms are best

A genuine, welcoming, friendly place that I shall not hesitate to return to. Chosen as it was on a quieter part of the beach and was NOT an all-inclusive and family-oriented hotel, I was delighted by my choice. The staff were extremely helpful and served excellent food. My fellow guests were friendly and interesting. It really felt like I was on holiday with friends in their beach house.

Ask Ali or Linzi for advice on choice of room. All are different; all are good; some are exceptional.

We recently stayed at Kennaways Kite Village in Diani, Mombasa. We were made so welcome it was fantastic, from arrival at the airport in our Air Conditioned Minibus to arrival at the Hotel !!
All the pre-planning was spot on, we were mad so welcome on arrival, the accommodation was fantastic, food excellent, rooms and cleanliness was second to none!!!
The Views are amazing see (www.thekenyaway.com)
There were four of us in our party, and honestly evertime we kleft to go on trips we coulfn't wait to get back! The atmosphere was great!.I had friends staying up the beach at avery posh resort and truly I wanted to get back to our place as soon as we could, there was just no atmosphere!!
We had two young lads with in there early twenties they had never been to Africa before and were included in the night-life all the activities which there are lots of besides the Kite Surfing which they specialise in there is Goggling, diving, para sailing you name it and the Beaches are superb, miles and miles of white sandy beaches!!! Linzi the Manager, her sister Olivia, who runs a great shop at the resort, and Ali who looks after the food etc, and bar etc!! All the staff are so smiley and welcomes you all the time they are always smiling!! Nothing is too much trouble for any one, all the staff everyone!!i
Sheets are cleaned daily and all the laundry is done if you want it to be!
Breakfast is great fun you meet everyone and exchange stories from the day before!!, Before you knw it you are all one big happy family, I starteted to miss people as they left...truly!!!

A very relaxing hotel, with excellent staff! Located right on the beach it is a bit of a walk t other restaurants but it has its own menu to offer which was quite good. Very good if you want to stay for watersports (kite surfing) and would recommend it for young adults.

Stayed only a few days & traveled alone, but within minuets felt at home & very relaxed. All the staff go out of the way to make you feel welcome, but not intrusive, the place is small so you get to know everyone very quickly. Rooms are comfortable & cleaned everyday. Food was excellent with a very good choice & price. Perfect place for the energetic or if you just want to relax - Only a few beach boys , who are friendly & not pushy & only want to chat, in fact at times I was the only one on the beach . What more can I say other than perfect & will certainly return again.

Have just got back from spending a fantastic week Kitesurfing at Kenyaways Beach Hotel.
We rented the two bedroom apartment which covers the whole of the second floor of the main building which was amazing! great views, lovely rooms, fabulous seating areas and it came with a chef who cooked whatever we fancied!
Linzi and the rest of the staff were very helpfull and attentive, and the inhouse restaraunt served very nice food. The hotel has a little bar downstairs and is a great place for socialising at the end of a day spent on the water with the other hotel guests.
The Kitesurfing was about as good as it gets, completeley uncrowded beaches, launch/land service, warm seas, flat water when the tides out with a bit more chop when the tides in, waves on the reef out back. The only downside is that the launch/land area is reduced to a bare minimum when the tide is at its highest but this was at most 1 1/2 hours. The wind starts at 11am like clockwork and builds throughout the day continuing well into the evening. Most people used 12m kites, sometimes switching to 9m in the afternoons. It has a very good kiteschool attached to the hotel with excellent instructors, i travelled with a non kitesurfer who was up and riding in no time. I would not hesitate to recomend this hotel and am looking forward to my return visit in the near future.
