the place is beautiful from the moment you drive through the gates down to interior of the rooms. the hosts make it feel like home away from home. they go above and beyond to ensure you have a great stay with them, as well as during your time in kenya.

We stayed at the Spice of the coast this past weekend for two nights.
I can not think of anything but the most wonderful things to say about this place. It was like being home away from home with really really really cool parents. The owners Thomas and Wanjiru were every bit welcoming and their Nephew Phillip, we all fell in love with from the very first moment.
The rooms are incredible with everything you need! Our bed was the biggest and most comfortable I have ever seen not to mention the stone shower heads in the bathrooms (beautiful)
The gardens are very beautiful and everyone at the premise was incredible and the ever smiling Waweru at the gate was quite the best welcome every drive in and out.

In Philips's words and I concur, Tom is the best cook in the entire world! The one dinner we had at the premise was incredible and Moshin, Gayanthi, Arnold and I will keep the memories forever!
Keep it up and continue being so amazing!
I recommend this place to anyone that desires something exquisite, romantic and quiet in Diani.

Had an amazing weekend here recently. The cottages were beautifully decorated and well serviced. Tom and Wanjiru, who own the place, were very warm and welcoming and made our stay a perfect getaway. Would highly recommend this hideaway and we will definitely go back.

We stayed at Spice of the Coast for 10 days and all I can say is, that it really made our vacation in Kenya.
First we weren't sure because the cottages where not directly located at the beach front but soon after we arrived, we where convinced that we made the right choice.

Each single cottage is beautifully decorated and thoughtfully set up - you can see how every single detail has been taken care of. Tom and Wanjiru - a lovely and warmhearted Dutch-Kenyan family are the owners of this place and take care of their guest just as they are old friends visiting from abroad.

The food (breakfast is served all day) is delicious - no wonder since Tom has been a former Chef in the Netherlands. Also, if you are lucky and get to eat their dinners, it's the most delicious food (high quality, fresh and clean) in Diani. We where lucky since there was a french group who caught fresh fish and had the opportunity to enjoy in-house dinner for a couple of evenings - which really saved us from the hassle of looking for a place to eat out in the evenings.

Going to the beach has never been a problem. Tom would quickly drive us there or calling a cab for a quick ride (3-5 EUR per ride) was always easy.

Whatever we wanted to do - diving, safari, kitesurfing or just nice dinner out - Tom always offered us good advice and perfectly took care of it.

If you are looking for a lovely, local place to stay away from big beach-front hotel complexes, Spice of the Coast is the perfect place to be (it is remote without being remote).

We had a great Kenya experience and our stay at Spice of the Coast contributed a major part to it.

If your looking for a quiet secluded B & B in the Diani Beach area, away from all the typical style beach hotels, this is a hidden treasure!. We booked 3 nights and ended up staying for a week.
You have your own private exquisively decorated cottage. Every detail has been thought of and supplied for your comfort. We had the largest bed we ever slept in. Each cottage is privately hidden among the beautiful natural surroundings. The owners Tom & Wanjiru are there with your goumet breakfast any time your ready. After having bad luck sampling some of the local restaraunts for dinner our hosts were so gracious to cook for us everyday. Found out they were both gourmet chefs. Your just minutes from the beach and other activities if your interested. We loved the private pool and seclusion. This is the place to stay if you want to be on the South Coast. We have travelled all over Africa, stayed in caves, huts and every 5* out there. We have decided to move to Diani and will stay there during our house renovations.

Room Tip: Go for the Cinnamon cottage, but each one has its own uniqeness
