It is the largest (longest) beach in Kenya with good tourism infrastructure and eazily accessible from Nairobi via Ukunda airstrip.
With more than two dosens of hotels of various categories it can accomadate travellers with different preferences and wallet sizes. If you prefer swimming or snorkelling in the ocean instead of drinking beer at the pool, you should be aware that especially during full or new moon low tides at some streches of the beach make the sea hardly accessible because of the sharp corals and seaurchins. High tides, on the contrary make some parts of the beach completely dissapear under water
