Returned in 2009 from Baobab/kole kole hotel. Excellent holiday, would recommend it to everyone. One of the hightlights of the holiday was a 3 day safari with Julius of J.T Safaris. We booked Julius after reading other trip advisor recommendations and initially as anyone would had reservations about booking outside excusion packages. However, we need not have worried, Julius and his team were excellent from start to finish, they picked us up from our hotel and discussed every option of the trip. They tailored the trip to our exact requirements, and as one would hope it was a once in a life time adventure which met all of our expectations. I would encourage anyone who is considering taking a safari or any other trip in Kenya to contact Julius before booking with anyone else. His e-mail address is [--] As i already mentioned the holiday was fantastic, one in a life time experience. The hotel excellent, the amimation team superb, and all staff couldnt do enough for you. The only down side are the sellers on the beach and no matter how often you indicate you are not interested, they refuse to take any notice and at the time becomes extremely tiresome to the extent that you tend not to venture down to the sea. Also not to forget the Crab Dive Centre who were outstanding .Stayed on the Kole Kole side of the hotel and had a superior deluxe room, was really lovely, even had visits from monkeys and baboons on our balcony .

Only stayed a week - an extra week would have been lovely. Can't say anything bad, we stayed in the kole kole wing, which we thought was superb. The rooms were huge and the infinity pool was gorgeous. The food was wonderful as were the staff. Not a single bad thing to say and if you are thinking of staying here we would definatley recommend it. Even our 2 teenagers have been telling everybody how great it was.
Thought the baboons were hilarious and we only ventured onto the beach once so not too bad with the sellers. Went on a 2 day safari which was fantastic - we used JT safaris and booked before we left UK.
Honestly a wonderful time had by all of us

Apart from the flight being a nightmare due to cancellation our arrival was very welcoming-standard rooms very small and smelt musty-upgrade was required this was easy and staff so obliging. Food excellent and the service was great. The Maridadi wing was superior we felt and the pool excellent very relaxing but Easter weekend brought alot of Indian familes for a long weekend and they were noisy and took over every where the children just ran amok and no one bothered to check them. We have been told that they come there Easter and Christmas -you have been warned! Apart from that we went on Safari and it was a great experience. The staff all deserve acolades as they were so cheerful and helpful in every way. We certainly will go back but not at Easter or Christmas.

The Kole Kole end of this hotel is, as trip advisors suggest , the best, rooms that beat every expectation, food freshly cooked in front of you at every meal, with lots of choice.
Infinity pool is lovely, heated, not to deep.
Staff are brilliant, always cheerful and welcoming.
We spent 3 days and 2 nights on safari with First African Dream Tours and safaris.
WWW.fadsafaris.com. "Absolutely stunning". Very proffesional and half the price of the big operators and the money stays within the local economy. Thanks Mike.
The beach boys can be a nuisance, but only if you let them.
The hotel is set within very lush grounds with monkeys and babboons everywhere, it was for us a totally different expeirence and well worth it.
And last but not least the sun shines, lots.

Beach boys,

We just stayed at this hotel for the second time, it was as brilliant as ever. Hotel rooms are good, shower rooms could do with a little up-dating, but ok.
Staff are all really friendly, and canno't do enough for you.
Location is perfect, and you can now use the facilities of the two hotels on either side.
The place is really rustic, and a real joy to stay at.
However, if you are looking for good night entertainment, do NOT look here, it is really dire, the entertainment staff putting on shows nightly, they do there very best, but leaves a lot be desired, the one exception is the acrobat show, brilliant, it is just a shame that a hotel of this standing , does'nt book some decent entertainments a least a couple of times a week, even the Masai shows now only come in once a month. They have a superb new Amptheatre, which is great, but just not the entertainment to go with it,
But all said and done, we go for the sun, relaxation and safari, and the evenings we were quite happy to sit and mull over a vodka or to at the pool bar !!!
Excellant hotel, and oneday we hope to return.

Jambo .Wonderful beach, lovely friendly people, fantastic choice of food, lots to do if you want to,everywhere is spotless loved the monkey man the monkeys didnt!.There are beach boys but you just tell them no and keep walking. They are after all just trying to make a shilling or two for their famiies. We had a trip out to the sand reef snorkelling and the guys in the glass bottomed boat were brilliant they even brought a star fish out to show us.Elephant reserve was short on elephants the water holes are drying up so they are going further up the hills but our guide would not give in and found us some that had just been in the river. We were very close to them they were magnificent with their huge tusks and still mudded from the river. We are now planning next year a safari thing and back to Baobab to learn more of the culture and language .Hakuna matata as they say.Every thing is wonderful.Jan.Thirsk
