Very nice hotel run by WANDERFULL family.
Moreover, they supported me when I did need help.

I do miss great dinners, the pool area and bar, not to mention the owners :-)
I hope I will come back next year...

THANK YOU

Agnieszka from Poland
( the woman with too many bags :-)

Room Tip: I recommend room nr 14 :-)

we have very mixed feelings about this hotel. First the owners and staff could not be more helpfull they are lovely people who made us feel at home and very welcome. and helped in every way they could. There is a nice restraunt area, bar and swimming pool. We enjoyed being in this area.We resided on a B&B basis breakfast is limited and the same every day. Thin slices of poor quality chopped ham, pretty tastless cheese, cold boiled eggs, chopped tomatoes, Yoghurt in a big bowl, poor quality cornflake type cereal and cardboard tasting choclate cereal. tea and coffee was served from a pump flask, not fresh. some white bread for toast, poor tasting jam. all in all not good,
restraunt meals were as good as any in arrillas, enjoyed every one, the Garlic mushrooms are to die for. the Room was small and basic, lacked storage space for a two week stay for 2. bathroom very small and dated. having said that it seems normal for the area. a small room with the toilet cistern protruding into the shower cutain, a very small shower area with curtain that sticks to you. the shower heads not attached to the wall so you have to hold them(did not please my Wife). The room was serviced daily and beds made etc. little to do for children except a table tennis table and the pool, so good for adults. The realy bad bit is the proximity of the two noisest bars in arrillas. someone should close these places down thay are out of character with this lovely Village. thay bang out music to ungodly hours in the morning disturbing sleep for many in the local hotels etc. Arrillas get your act together and stop this blight on your lovely village. I recorded 65 decibels in our room upto to 2 am in the morning . on one occasion it went on untill 3.30 am and there may be only 8-10 people sitting in the bar. apparently there has being ongoing legal battles for over 12 years to reolve this problem. one of the bar staff at one of these bars assulted one of the owners of our hotel when he went to ask for the music to be turned down for his guest's. as i say not a nice bar. speaking to some residents of the hotel they did not mind the music as they stayed up till late and went out drinking etc. so if you dont mind
loud disc music this is the place for you

Room Tip: if you don,t like loud music ask for a quit room there aren,t many

My wife and I stayed at the Akti in mid July,

Overall the hotel is great and I cannot emphasis the family feel about the hotel. Stamatis, Kostas and especially Spiro make you fell like an extended part of family.

The pool is area is fantastic - great sunbeds with cushions, no loud music, chilled sounds that help you relax, and perfectly clean and tidy - a great place to capture the sun which shines on the sun terrace all day. The pool is very refreshing and ideal to cool off.

The room we were in was quite basic but did have everything we needed - comfortable beds - great pillows - good storage and a shower and loo. Cleaned daily and very regular changes of sheets and towels. We were told that this part of the hotel is to be upgraded next year but would have no real issues going back as it is.

The breakfast is quite basic but.... with cereal, toast, boiled eggs, meat, cheese, jams, yoghurt and honey and biscuits means you can have something different every day plus of course tea, coffee, and juice.

We had lunch at the hotel most days as is very reasonably priced. In fact we often didn't pay for our drinks and lunch until late in the evening and the odd occasion the next day - it was not a problem!!

We also had dinner a few times this was fine although we ate in around 6/7 restaurants and all were great - didn't have a bad meal anywhere and surprisingly cheaper than I thought at anything from 25 - 40 euros for a 3 course meal for 2 with a drink or two.

The bar area is a great place to have an early evening drink on the sun terrace or a night cap or two - Spiro will always look after you and he does mix great cocktails.

Most reviews about the Akti mention the bars opposite. The Coconut bar is not an issue in fact its a good bar and has some good live entertainment a few nights a week but the noise is controlled and done and dusted by 12.30 or 1.00 at the latest. The issue is the Mailbu bar which caters for children early on but does not turn the music down later on although it certainly was not the 3 or 4 o'clock as other have mentioned . However, for various reasons we had a couple of early nights and with some white noise - TV and Air con - it didn't really affect us.

So our advice is don't be too put off by this unless you want to go to bed on your holiday at 11.00 every night !!!
As a guide we intend going back and taking our 3 year old granddaughter so that might help put this in perspective - great hotel great service.

Room Tip: Although there is a fridge in the room if you want a cuppa you'll need to take a kettle

There is 2 levels of room at the Akti, newer much better above the bar and restaurant and those that are directly opposite the 2 music bars. Even if you are a previous holiday maker you can not be guaranteed the better rooms even if you ask 12mths in advance. Therefore if you are allocated a room with the music bars take ear plugs as you will be kept awake until 2AM even if you are told the music stops at 23:30.

As to the cleaning of the rooms, ours was not really taken care of the time we were there , towels changed twice and sheets once.

The hotel is situated right in the middle so everywhere is a short walk along flat roads, plenty of restaurants to chose from.

If it wasn't for the noise I would return every year

I have never stayed in hotel so this is about what I use. Spiro knocks himself out looking after his visitors and bar customers. The food is great. The bar is a little oasis from some of the more, shall we say, lively! bars. Lovely ambiance with a beautiful outdoor pool. Meet a variety of nationalities and ages as you chat around the bar or sit in the comfortable chairs. Of course what Spiro is famous for are his fantastic cocktails, coffees and hot chocolate.

Room Tip: sorry I am only able to rate the bar and restaurant as I don't stay at the hotel
