“Ideal for families with young children and those on a package”
Reviewed 7 January 2010

Good value for package tourrists and ideally suited to families with young children - two swimming pools and a wide sandy beech with life guards on duty and a safe swimming area. There is a kids club with daily kids activities. Over Christmas and New Year expect themed evenings and piped music throughout the hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are very nice and most overlook lagoons. Golf buggies can be called if you don't want to walk from your room to the restaurants/beach. Bikes are for hire [but you need long legs!] The grounds are lovely with a 9 hole golf course and the beach is great. The staff are very helpful and attentive; the food is good, especially at “Jamavar”. Spa treatments are good but the Spa is small so book early. The Leela is about an hour by taxi from the capital Panjim - most roads are windy and narrow so take tablets if you are susceptable to travel sickness.

This was our 3rd visit to Leela Goa, it just gets better and better with each stay. The hotel beach has an endless expanse of white sand, rolling surf and swaying palms, it’s incredibly beautiful which matches the hotel. The service is amazing with the staff going out of their way to accommodate your every need. We stayed in a conservatory room which looked out on to the lagoon which is very tranquil. The hotel is very well maintained with a good choice of restaurants. Once you arrive I don’t think you will question the expense for a second as it’s worth every penny. Savings can be made by eating at the Fishermans Wharf and Mikes on the beach, however, don’t expect the same luxury as you get at the Leela.

We got picked up from the airport and drove to the hotel. The transfer was about an hour. The hotel grounds are nice and well taken care off. Also the room was very big and stylish. The reception is an openspace and we liked it. The pool is very nice, but I think,... but when the hotel is fully booked with Europeans the could be too little space for all guests to lay in the sun. When we where there the hotel was booked with Indians and they do not really like to lay in the sun that much. The food was OK, but does not offer a lot of western food. The beach is nice and the staff was very friendly. The grounds are not that ideal with a baby strawler as we found out.

We stayed in lake side rooms of Leela. The rooms, cleaning and hotel staff were awesome. It also has a private beach, and provides every facility inside the campus. Although the food may be a concern for some. Like any other five star, the food is non-spicy, brunt, continental flavourish and is eatable for all (including foreign tourists). For taxi etc. they charge a hefty amount, it is better to take from outside. But the main problem is outside, you will not find anything like taxi/bus/grocessary store nearby if you need.

We stayed at The Leela for two days.It was part of a stopover during our drive around West India & Goa.We were just astounded by the sheer size & the landscape of the place. We booked ourselves into the Conservatory Premiere at what we believed was a steal, thanx to it being the monsoons.Contrary to general perceptions,we love Goa during the monsoons and we have been going there without fail for the past 5 years. The check in was personalised & no waiting at the counter. We were comfortably seated in the lounge and while we sipped away on the refreshing & sweet coconut water, all the formalities were taken care of.After that the battery cart drive to the room was a pleasant one.We were anxious to see what we had in terms of the room as we had had several past experiences where the portal pictures and the actual scene differ vastly. For once we were pleasantly surrprised to find that reality was far better than the pictures(the pictures itself were more than tempting). The conservatory premiere is one level above the standard rooms and is extremely speacious with the rooms overlooking the lagoon that runs all through the property. The Leela theme composition is something that is to be heard to be believed. The music plays on their website and it plays throughout on their interactive tv channel as well-soothing & pleasant.

Large & comfortable beds, not too "springy or bouncy",pillows were something to die for and unlike some other places, there were plenty of them without us having to ask for extra ones. The light switches were a bit confusing to start off with, but an hour into the stay and everything was sorted out.The CP room has an extension which can be closed away from the room with a very comfortable couch and a couch/bed table and a second LCD plasma.Luxury to the hilt.

The shower & bath areas all have Kohler fittings, pleasing to see that every minute detail has been looked into. Two wash basins and the wet areas & dry areas very well separated. No dearth of toiletries,in plenty. Some of the smaller things that add to the beauty and comfort of the stay.We have noticed during some other stays that every 2 or 3 hours,we need to keep calling housekeeping for some thing or the other. And pleasantly, care was taken to ensure that a double occupancy room had double of everything-tooth brushes, bath robes etc.something that isnt seen in some other places.

Staff-extremely polite and willing to go the extra mile to make the stay comfortable. We couldnt walk around the whole property as it really is vast. The private beach is manned by a security guard at all times, adequate showers & taps near the beach to wash away the sand.An exclusive childrens' area to keep them occupied.

The buffet breakfast was nothing out of the ordinary, the usual 5 star trappings(cant really complain there is only so much one can do).

Check out was a breeze. All in all an excellent & indulgent stay.Cant wait to go back there next monsoons.Eating options outside the hotel are very limited almost non-existent.There is a shopping complex and some chinese places which open during the season time.these would be at a distance of around 2kms and a walk of a good 15mins.Would more than reccommend anyone to stay @ The Leela atleast once during their Goa visits.

I went for 3 days stay at Leela, Goa. Took the basic room. At 1st look rooms were pretty ordinary, not at all of standard expected in Leela,GOA. But apart from the room everything was good. Simply loved swiming pool, its the one of best pool.

Jain food was pretty OK. Casino is not upto standard. its has only basic games & is very small

Avoid going if there is a Wedding happening along with your stay
