“All round good holiday”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

San miguel is very quiet has about 4 or 5 shops and that is all. The Beach club was ok rooms were cleaned everyday bar offered a range of drinks and lollys till 11pm. Snack bar is open to 6pm offering burgers chips etc . Food for first 4 days was brilliant and went downhill from there, you have the option to book the restaurant or chinese restaurant in the hotel upstairs (sister hotel) which I did. The waitress gave me a highchair for my 2 yr old daughter with a sign saying "don't let your child make a mess on highchair" and they only served fish. The choice of two pool one upstairs in hotel and one in beach club. The Beach club is more child orientated very cold and the one at the hotel is more of a traditional pool. Very close to beach, entertainment was ok. All round was ok holiday

Room Tip: Room 26 best room in hotel

My partner and I took our 2 year old boy aboard for the first time on the 30/05/2014. We thought the San Miguel beach club was an excellent hotel and brilliant value for money. The resort it's self is very quite but nice if you just want a chill out holiday and there is buses and taxis to leave the resort if you wanted to explore! We went to Ibiza town one day which was lovely, plenty of shops and restaurants.
The hotel was really clean and the rooms had anything you could have asked for!
The food in the hotel was very good, had a good selection very night on the buffet and tried to caterer for everyone! The staff were so friendly and made time to make a fuss of my little boy! The hotel is right on a lovely beach! The pool was nice but cold. Great kids park outside the front of the hotel! Can't fault this hotel, would go recommend especially for families!

Just returned today (29/5/14 to 12/6/14). After reading some reviews we had some reservations and our expectations were not great. PLEASE IGNORE THESE NEGATIVE REVIEWS.
Yes it is only 3 stars resort but the hotel itself is clean and very comfortable. From the reception staff to the restaurant and bar staff and the fabulous David Dickinson look alike Manager, all were very polite and friendly and professional. The outside is always clean and tidy.
The food is fine. Always a good choice. Like all All Inclusive resorts, there can be good and bad days but we all always had a good meal and good choices. The Western Bar is fine for the kids if they get a bit peckish with all the swimming and activities the Animacion team and Thomson Kids Club provide.
If you have kids then this hotel is perfect. I travelled with my husband, daughter and 3 grandchildren. Girl aged 9 and two boys aged 3 and 4. The Thomson Kids Club is great for all ages (3-13). Caitlin, Chloe and Sean are fab with all ages of kids and come and see the kids out and about the pool and discos, which the kids loved. Along side this is a fantastic Animacion team, led by the extremely funny Zorro. These guys work 12 hours a day to make the guests have a brilliant holiday.
The only down fall I can say is the host of wasps around in the day. Take some wasp repellant and this will help. Our daughter had a room facing the pool. This was a little noisy at night with a few inconsiderate drunken fools but this is not unusual in any hotel but because of the large number of children I didn't think there would be too many idiots but these were the Dads of the children in bed!!!!! once the culprits went home it seemed quieter but still noisy til late I.e. gone 1am
We cannot fault the hotel and its facilities AND you can use the Hotel facilities too. The Chinese restaurant is lovely.
We found the pool was cold initially but the hotter the weather we found the pool got hotter too. The kids pool stays cooler cos its in the shade for longer. The deeper pool has a bubble facility and two fountains.
We will happily go back, even without our grandchildren. Thanks guys!
PS almost forgot the lovely Thomson Reps, Leigh and Sally. Always available, very visible during the day and evenings.

Room Tip: The ground floor rooms around the childrens pool are fab for those with very young children because...

We stayed in the beach club with our 3 year old. Got a ground floor room around the corner from the main pool area so it was secluded. We were there for a week (21-28 May) and were impressed with the thomson package. Family room of three twin beds (two pushed together and a stand alone single). The room was cleaned daily and towels/beds changed twice in the week. Only issues with the room were the bathroom door didn't shut properly and the patio light didn't work which was a little off putting at night.
The food at night was ok. Usual buffet style food with something for everyone. usual red wine, white wine or beer only for alcohol. Soft drinks dispensers were good. Have the ability to book 24 hours in advance to use the main hotel restaurant/chinese. This is well worth it as the chinese was fantastic (buffet style) although we were rushed out after 45 minutes. Main hotel restaurant is more varied but worth a change.
The Tapas tapas bar is just a bar with a max of 2 tapas per visit to the bar. They are small and not a meal but worth a visit.
The Western Saloon bar was handy for snacks, Burgers etc. Popcorn when you want it and icecream too. Great for cooling down.
The beach is only a 2 minute walk. There is free canoe use for all inclusive including life jackets. This was brilliant as we got to go out into the bay and have a nose around. Well worth it. The loungers and parasols on the beach tho are 5 euro each for the day and not linked with the hotel.
There is tennis courts and ping pong at the front door - free for AI too.
The playpark at the entrance is great too.
Kids club was fantastic. Sean and the girls were brilliant! Open 5 days out of 7 and our little one had a brilliant time doing lots of things with them. Totally recommend this!
The Entertainment was also brilliant. Kids first till around 9pm then adults until around 11. Zorro and the team do a great job to get everyone to participate which isn't always easy and there were the usual one or two that didn't appreciate his sense of humour but you can't please everyone! (although they pretty much did)
Only complaint which is voiced by various other reviews is the pool. The 'baby' pool was freezing cold (and filled with a hose from a tap at night). The main pool was also freezing. although you do get used to it as an adult our little one struggled and couldn't spend long in it without chattering teeth and blue lips.
All in all a great holiday and would happily go back again.

Room Tip: If you get ground floor be wary of too close to the entertainment as it can be loud especially in pe...

Just returned after a week at this resort (22nd-29th May 2014) myself, my husband, my 3 children (ages 8,5 & 4) and my parents all enjoyed our holiday. The hotel staff were very friendly and the entertainment team were fantastic!! there isn't one thing we disliked... the rooms were immaculate, the food was lovely with plenty to choose from, the kids loved the pool and it was right next to the beach with stunning veiws. Very quiet area ideal for holiday with young children. Got back yesterday and already looking at prices to go back next year :)

We have just returned after a weeks stay (May 21 - 28). We took our 2 children (age 8 & 3) and we were very impressed with the hotel and location. We had a lovely family room with a view of the pool and beach. The staff at the hotel were very welcoming and friendly and the hotel itself had everything we needed and was kept very clean.
We had all inclusive and we were impressed with the hotel restaurant - the food was lovely and varied (and the staff were very friendly and hard working). It was a bonus that we could also use the other hotel restaurants especially the chinese restaurant which I recommend. You need to book the chinese restaurant and the food was lovely! The other hotel restaurant was busier and more varied but worth a visit too and you get to enjoy a great view of the bay from there. The hotel daytime and evening entertainment was brilliant and they had something for kids & adults. The hotel is right on the beach so not far to go and lovely beach with a few shops near beach for souveniers and beach inflatables/toys. My 3 yr old went to the Thomson Kids club and loved it! The staff were brilliant with the kids. The one and only downfall was that we found the pool too cold for our 3 yr old. But this wouldn't put us off returning again in the future. I would recommend this hotel to anyone (especially families) looking for a good 3 star holiday. :-)

Room Tip: A lot of rooms have pool/sea views (which we loved) but these also over look the entertainment at ni...
