What a little gem! Stumbled on this by chance and was completely amazed by the history of the family that have kept both relics from there past and the story of their ancestors alive. The lady who owns the house gave us a guided tour and the hospitality of both her and her husband was wonderful. Definitely worth the time to pay a visit and be humbled by the history..
So many emotions with this travel to the past thanks to the perfect tour, detailed description, given by Konstantina. It is a must see and a very unique experience whether you are interested in history and culture or not, it is not tiring and definitely worth a visit.
Not to be missed. This is made with so much love and enthusiasm and you'll learn a lot about Greek and Skitahos' history. If there is one cultural site to be visited on the island: this is it.
Visited this morning and was fascinated by the amount of information the two young ladies were able to put across. One amazing resource for anyone interested in folklore history. Not easy to find, but just up the street from the Admiral BenBow.
A family museum. It is more amazing if you scout around a bit you will figure it out. The central key here is not one, but a lot.
It's a puzzle. The author Papadiamantis is one, the shipbuilding, the pirates, Venetians, Ottoman empire. The Kastro. The world wars and the migrations.
The silkworm and how the women both old and young were dressed.
The war of independence. The connection with the British empire.
It's all in one house. And at the end they bring you a homemade unique treat made of walnut for only 2 €, but the price is not the only thing that amazes me. It's the hard work put down by the tour guides. All for just 2€. It was all good and very interesting. Maybe a bit magic.
Wonderful place. Lot of history and a nice tour from the family who tells you a lot about the history and very cheap!
