Just returned from a week in Skiathos. Booked the Akti Hotel because i wanted somewhere central and at a reasonable price. The hotel has been recently renovated and looks great in comparison with the other tired looking hotels around. Was however disappointed with the size of the triple room. Its was a double with an extra bed squeezed in which left not much room to move around. The room is equipped with a flat screen TV, nice modern furniture and frames. The fridge is tiny and there is not much room to prepare any food. Would have been nice if there was a kitchenette, The bathroom was clean but the shower only had a curtain so we forever had a pool of water to deal with after each shower. The room has a nice clean feel about it and has nice crisp sheets changed once during our week stay, towels were changed every few days. Beds are very comfortable. I paid the extra for a sea view room but was disappointed that there was a tree blocking the view and a wall on the other side. If you have a choice get a higher level room. A must is to sleep with the window closed as you hear all the clubbers leaving in the early hours making a terrible noise followed by the road cleaners sweeping the roads of bottles etc. Had a very noisy first night. Location great, right opposite the bus station, supermarket next door and all restaurants, shops, cafes and clubs.

Room Tip: Higher floors will have a better view

Stayed here 20th/27th June 2012. Had a great comfortable clean double room with bathroom and stunning view. Immaculately cleaned every day. Very friendly owner who is always available on site during the day if you need any help. Would recommend this hotel for its location as it is right on the new port, near the Bus terminal for access to all beaches and the harbour for boat trips and boat taxis, and most of all for the superb bars and restaurants in Skiathos Town.

Room Tip: ask for seaview rooms....not all will have one!

Hotel Akti
Arriving at Airport, picked up hire car, surprised number of people walking into town (15mins) pulling suitcases on their wheels, end of runway is 5 mins walk from town centre (youtube it), car hire (20E) guy suggested AKTI (room only) Hotel and take car to one of 63 beaches (5 mins to 20mins) every day, small island, he was right, 40E a night, great views over harbour, right in town centre for night out. Supermarket next door (Beer 1E) and others local, we had breakfast on big balcony (bakery 5 doors away) or at loads of restaurants along front (6E). Hotel provided kettle and cups on request. Car to beaches during day, or bus runs until 22.45 pm. Hire a sailing boat (45E) or take boat trip (15E) from outside your front door. 2 bed apartment next door looked good, but just 2 of us so kept basic room with en-suite, it is Greece as we know it, not 5*, but picture views all round, looked at other hotels but missed harbour view and town centre location, so we preferred harbour view and town centre position here.

I stayed at this hotel as a last minute occurance, I was originally staying at the Taxiarchis in Skiathos town but it was terrible and we had no end of problems, so we decided to find a good budget hotel we could move to the same day. The Hotel Akti was in a perfect location and was one of the first ones we came across, on speaking with the woman on reception, she was happy to show us a room, and show us the views etc. and her courtasy was exceptional, after finding out the cost was more than reasonable, we decided to stay there for the remaining 5 days of our holiday. It was a basic room, with stunning harbour views, in a spectacular location, the cleaner was exceptional, and it was cleaned to almost sterile standards, the staff were always lovely, and even said hi if we saw them in the town itself, we felt welcome from the moment we arrived, and they even helped us find a store that stocked a new memory card for our camera! I will definetly be returning to this hotel, the Hotel Akti saved my holiday! :) (the only very very minor let down was the television in the room did not pick up many channels, and the ones it did were all fuzzy due to poor reception, but this is the only negative I can say about this hotel). All in all, a fabulous hotel, well worth the stay x

It was hard to find more than basic reviews of this hotel before booking, so I was sceptic, but at the end, we got what we expected. A clean, basic hotel, with the best positon. We stayed at the biggest apartment and had the greatest view ever ! The hotel is more as if you were renting a flat. The cleaning is daily.
There is no breakfast, but we did not expect one, since we paied for accomodation only. The location is great, because you are acctually on the main seaside walking street, looking at the ferries arriving and departing and private yachts swinging in the port. Everything is close and also, you can leave your car in the near free parking, although we always left our car on the street and had no problems. The employees are quite nice, but you don't get to see them a lot, since you just rent the accomodation. There is wireless internet in the hotel, but the signal weakens from the first floor above, so you need to sit in the loby area for longer connection. The kitchen was amasingly well equipped, including toaster, cofee machine, juiceextractor, mixer and all possible dishes and accessories. Oposite to kitchen, the bathroom was too small and uncomfortable. In the evening, you can enjoy the night life just by sitting on your balcony, since this is the walking promenade and way for the numbered cafees and discos. They are far enogh for you to get a nice sleep, but expect an early wakeup, since hundreds of youngs are coming back from nightnife around 6-7 am and they are always loud. We did not mind all these too much, and we would come again. It was a little pricy, though, but the view was worth it.
