Just returned from a long weekend. We arrived on the opening day of the new CS palm village and at first we thought we may have made a mistake but the hotel is unbelievable and the staff are great. Food wasn't great but given time this will be a great hotel.

Having read number of negative reviews I was very apprehensive before we arrived . Family of 5 children 14,13,10 booked through expedia which identified cs grande as the accommodation this was clarified prior to departure and only became aware of the status of the reAdynes through reviews. First impressions where mixed reception was at cs grande and had to wait a long time to be serviced even though there was many desks all unmanned. Lobby erea is very impressive and creates a very positive impression. Once we were at desk we were treated professionally and given some limited info. This should have been more particularly regarding some of the available services eg bottle water is available at any time from reception just ask!,we were unclear about what accom we had but once we transferred the short 200m fro reception to our rooms we were not disappointed very spacious family suite each of our 3 children had sepaate ensuite rooms with own tv a very pleasant and unexpected experience. Advertised as 5 star it does not meet usual 5 star stds no tea or coffee making facilities even thou there is fridge and sink region in room . Room are spacious but lack furniture. Excellent patio let down by lack of seating this is a major issue and we would recoomend the cs group reappraise the use of bean bags. Being able to take the benefit of sitting out side your room would have added significantly to the experience . Main restaurants are in cs grande one with grill upstairs and one downstairs in addition a pre bookable table service out side the bar buffet restaurants were ok but be prepared for Luke warm food on cold plates hotel needs to look at implementing improvements inthis area. The children ate well with no complaints from them . The cake selection was always good and also the provision of wine etc was well appreciated . Evening entertainment very Dias pouting for a family lobby area of cs grande transforms into a railway station . Dosignificant not expect the usual family orietated entainment . Porgugals smoking policy of alowing smoking was major issue as we are not used to having to sit next to people who do this in closed env. The beach was short walk away use the new board walk opposite liquid lounge which takes you directly to beach. The beach is very safe and excellent easy to find a open stretch even during august! Children's play area not yet built this was not communicated prior to arrival and again nothing for teenage to do other than the pools. The hotel is on the sightseeing for bus route stop 8 but the trip is tedious and did not run to the published schedule. No other bus service available. Taxi to albufeira only other option. Positives accommodation , pools , albeit cold! , prebooked retauranrs . Entertainment and activities for teenagers needs to be resolved if this is truly to become a favourite With these open issues it is hard to recommend

if thinking of staying here i would wait until next year when meant to be completed, i was sold this holiday in june by thompson, to find it was not open so sent me to cs salagos grande which is not suitable for family, nothing for under 5yrs or over 11yrs, the only bar allowed smoking not suitable for children, if you are looking for couples holiday or golf for a week its ok, staff not very friendly, very far out from everything else even the beach, felt like we where sourounded by building site.
if you are booking with thompson dont expect any help from their rep joe, you will be inconvienience that you dare to complain.

We stayed for 10 nights at Palm Village and had a wonderful time. The accomodation was to a very high standard and more importantly suitable for my daughters wheelchair. The all-inclusive package allowed a choice of restaurants, each offering a high standard of food and plenty of choice, especially for children. The staff were extremely helpful and the majority spoke very good english. There were plenty of activities for adults and children if you wished to partcipitate, or the sunloungers and pool were very inviting.
My only complaint was that at the CS Salgados Grande Hotel, which is where you go for entertainment and meals, the sports bar allowed smoking inside, which we are not used to anymore. However there are other bars you can use at Palm Village.

My family (2 adults + 2 kids aged 3 years and 6 months) and I have just returned from our stay in CS Palm Village (27/06 - 06/07).

Unfortunately our stay was tainted from the beginning. We arrived at 3pm and having been assured whilst booking we could get access to our rooms from 2pm we were told our room wasn't ready and to "go for a walk and come back in 30 mins". With 2 small children who had been travelling for approx 6 hours this wasn't the news we wanted to hear. However, after another 2 visits to reception to check if it was ready we made our way to our room in block 2 on the 3rd floor (top floor). We quickly realised why our rooms werent ready - it was because they were probably still being built right up to us getting in them! The lift didnt work so we had to drag 2 pushchairs and hand luggage up the 3 flights of stairs although it could of been worse as our big cases were going to be brought up by hotel porters (more of that later!)

Got in the room and immediate thoughts were the cable from the TV ran the length of the room causing a severe trip hazard for my 3 year old daughter and indeed us. There wasa huge balcony with no furniture on at all and holes in the cupboards which we later found out was where the sink was going to be plumbed in!

The air con didnt work, the phone didnt work, we received no cases so i went to reception to complain - and subsequently had to visit 4 times and really push to get a manager in my room to agree that the air con was broke - Cue change of rooms!

2 of the most unhelpful hotel workers turned up and huffed and puffed but i ended up carrying all our unpacked cases and clothes and 2 pushchairs and 2 kids from block 2 to block 7. This room was better although beware a secret room in all suites in between the living room and bedroom - it has a balcony door although the room is sealed up from the inside. Yet another indication the hotel isn't ready is the fact that on our 3rd day 2 beanbags turned up as balcony furniture and on our last day 2 chairs at the end of the bed arrived!

Overall very disappointed as it was advertised as a family holiday destination however I found some reception staff incredibly unhelpful and the lack of anywhere for children to go (the advertised and i imagine included in the price of the holiday "Infant Playground" was nowhere to be seen)

Very disappointed indeed and feel betrayed and my holiday was tarnished as have paid top prices for half of the facilities. Such a shame as the hotel will be fantastic although the hotel & management have a responsibility to paying customers to ensure we get all the facilities we have paid for and if this is not the case to compensate us accordingly. You cannot expect great reviews if people are paying a lot of money to get a very average experience.

Dear Sir,

thank you for your review. Your opinion is very important for us and it will help us to improve our performance.

Further to your comments, we wish to apologize for all inconveniences caused by the unusual circumstances that did occur during you stay. Nevertheless, we wish to emphasize that the opening of CS Palm Village was made in different stages both Block 1 and 2 were indeed the last two to be made available to our Guests.
Unfortunately, we did suffer some unforeseen technical problems that surpassed us, namely Air-conditioning failures that involved some major repair works as well as some electrical failures that affected the good function of lifts.
With regards to your comments towards “a secret room” kindly note that the area that you refer to in your comments, was originally thought to be one more bedroom within that Suite.

Please note that the situations you have pointed out are not at all compatible with our quality standards and level of customer service. However, kindly note that all your comments have been properly registered, internal procedures were taken and all efforts gathered to avoid these situations from happening again.

We are, therefore, committed to enforce our quality standards which are improving on a daily basis and sincerely hope to have the opportunity of welcoming you again at CS Palm Village.

Best Regards
