This is an unassuming taverna about 3 km East of Colymbari on the road to Maleme - if driving East, turn left down a narrow lane just before a BP garage - it's indicated on the main road.
Service is very welcoming and the food is really well cooked - many of the ingredients come from Michalis' farm (genuinely as we regularly saw him and his son tending to their livestock from our villa). Although less refined in terms of presentation than Palio Arhontiko in Colymbari (which is currently rated no 1 in the area on this site), my wife and I though he edged it on his food. Particularly good were: Dakos (really light and crisp), baby/marrow/cougette balls, goat stew and stifado (goat from his farm) and sea bream (which was stunningly good). He and his wife also know how to cook chips (unlike many in Greece)!
I'd highly recommend.
