My wife and I stayed at the Aberdeen Studios from August 25th to September 8th this year, and can absolutely recommend it. It is a complex of 11 self-contained bungalows, each with its own verandah with a table and chairs. It is set within a lovely olive grove with other trees including, plum, orange, apricot, cherry, pomegranate, hazelnut, medlar etc. There is a pool with sunbeds and a well-stocked pool bar, open for meals from 9 till early evening and drinks until 1 am. Carol, the amazing hostess of the complex, ably assisted by the lovely Zoe, who doubles as cleaner in the morning and bartender later, is always on hand to cook snacks and serve drinks. They, together with Vassilis "The Boss" are all very friendly and helpful if you have any problems. Some people have complained about the noise from the road, but I can honestly say that it didn't bother either of us. Just a faint rumble in the background sometimes. This is a "working" island after all. We have also seen complaints about the cleanliness of the accommodation and the poolside. We are at a loss to understand this - everything was immaculately clean while we were there. Thassos itself is a beautiful island, and has gone straight to the top of our list of all the Greek islands we have visited. We had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing holiday, and we would certainly go back to both Thassos and the Aberdeen again.
