“We loved our Greek holiday”
Reviewed 4 July 2011

This is our second visit to Thassos and we were pleased to stay at the Villa Eden. Typical good basic Greek accommodation, spotlessly clean set in a very pretty garden. The owners Dimitri and Denise are lovely, not intrusive, there if you needed them and happy to help. The whole place is kept beautifully by Dimitri, with the help of Denise and their two sons who help with the garden; a delight to watch as they watered the garden each evening! It ticked all our boxes and we had a wonderful time.
Will certainly return and do not understand the negative comment made, they must have been staying somewhere else.

On arrival all seemed good, however we were put in room 1, which should really be a single room and not a doube. The wardrobe door would not open right out due to the fact it hit the bed side cabinet, there was not enough room to put your clothes away, ok you could keep some in the suitcase, however there was not enough room to put the suitcase anywhere so we had to keep ours out on the balcony along with some of our clothes. The bathroom is a joke, the shower (wet room) made such a mess, water going everywhere making the loo, floor very wet. (be careful as it then becomes slippery), it was more like a hose pipe than a shower. We asked to be moved but the owner told us we had to wait until next changeover day, (4 nights away). But he was quite pleased to tell us we did have a kettle and of all things a chopping board. ( What a relief that was) He is a very rude and strange man who upset me with his attitude from day one, we finally did move on our 5th day after hours of reminding him. He has no respect for his guests. The accomadation is only on 2 floors, and he had put a disabled couple upstairs( who were moved 3 days later after the rep got involved), and a partially sighted lady had also been put upstairs.
Thassos itself is nice, the town only about 10 minutes away with lovely places to eat and drink. We hired a car for a couple of days which was very nice to see the rest of the island.
If you want a get away from it all holiday go there, but please be very careful if you choose eden villa to stay, Would I go back, not in a million years, I don't save for my holidays to be treated in this way. The best bit for me was seeing dolphins on 3 seperate occasions in the sea (something I have never seen before). So look out for them if you dare go.

Coming to the end of a two week stay in the villa Eden. We had a double bed the room is fairly small but has everything you need. The rooms are kept very clean and the apartments are in a good location, 10 minute walk from the centre with some lovely restaurants nearby. The apartments share a pool bar with the villa elia so you have two pools to choose from. Never had a problem getting sunbeds anytime of day. Theres a well priced supermarket within 50m 95cents for a 500ml. The rooms have a hairdryer and tv. All in all a well placed two star superior apartments

We stopped at Villa Eden 8th - 15th may 2011.

The villa is nice, well kept and well presented, staff are pleasant and welcoming depsite the language barrier.

Only problem was our beds were very uncomfortable and the blankets didnt keep us warm.

oh and a heated pool would of been nice

The villa Eden has nicely kept grounds with plenty of sun beds and shady areas around the pool. The owners live in the on site and are at all times VERY helpful, Demitrias the owner even drove me back to a port 20 miles away to pick up a car, and that was on a Sunday evening. His wife is English and they have two small sons, so they make you feel part of the family.
The Town centre is 15 minutes walk down a slight hill and the beach which is not very good is 5 minutes further on.
There are many Tavernas but the best is at the end of the old harbour up a small slope, you can usually park there as well
The Le Muse is also excellent, it is at the sea side and about 5 minutes walk away
The family make every one welcome at the Villa to such an extent that many of the guests who were staying there had been before, as we will.
Peter and Sylvia,
Manchester.

We stayed at Villa Eden in August for one week. My partner wasn't that keen on Greece initially as he'd only been once before along time ago. i, on the other hand love the Greek islands and wanted to visit Thassos, we wren't dissapointed.

We had a great transfer over on the ferry which took about 35-40 mins and Villa Eden is about 5 mins on the bus from the port, first stop if I remember rightly. We were shown a room which we didn't like too much and asked for a balcony room. We were given a fab room which was next to a real sun trap sun terrace, can't remember the room number unfortunately. We had the most wonderful week. Yes, the owner Dimitrius ws a little grumpy but so what, we weren't spending our holiday with him, and to be honest, he was so proud of the gardens and pool area he really looks after the Eden and it shows. We had the pool area to ourselves most of the week, and the little snack bar serves basic snacks to see you through til the evening but there is a nice little place next to the supermarket virtually next door Spyros I think it was called and we had breakfast there a couple of times.

Thassos itself is beautiful, the harbour area is nice to sit and have breakfast and then pop back to Eden for a bit of sunbathing (we had temperatures in the mid 30's) and the evening in Thassos has lots of lovely Tavernas to eat.

We loved it so much that we have booked to go back next August for 2 weeks, staying at a different hotel next time, only to try something else....Villa Eden is a fab place to stay, central, basic but clean (Greece accomodation is normally pretty basic) and only a straight walk into the harbour and Thassos town. I wouldn't be put off by other negative comments about it....
