Since many Greek people have summer houses in Thassos it is a crowded island. Archondissa stands on a hill, on it's own and in a quiet location. There is a pebble peach in walking distance however you need to climb down and up a steep hill to get to it. Since the beach is pebbly it is not crowded either. The view from the pension is really breathtaking. It has a nice restaurant with generally good food however the prices were the highest we have paid in a Greek restaurant in all the Greek islands we have been to in the last five years.
The rooms are small and the bathrooms are tiny and need reburbishment. The rooms and the bathrooms are only cleaned when you ask for it. In the restaurant area a lot of unused chairs and other furniture items are stocked in a corner like a warehouse which affects the atmosphere in a negative way.
Overall Archondissa is a pension with wonderful view in an quiet location. The owners are nice and helpful people, the restaurant has good food and good view. However it needs a few touch ups and a closer look at the price-benefit ratio it offers to its guests.
