There are far too many wonderful exhibits to do justice to in a short review but it should not be missed and at 2 euros entrance fee it must be the best deal on the island. A poignant moment for me was the large statue of the Roman Emperor Hadrian, many times in the past I have travelled parallel to it on the Roman Road from Carlisle (Cumbria) to Wallsend near Newcastle. It brought home to me how far people travelled centuries ago in such primitive conditions.

Lots of great artefacts and exhibits, all laid out in a time ordered fashion with plenty of space and light make this museum a pleasure to visit and it gives great insight into the history of Thassos.

I visited Thassos Town Museum of Archaeology in the summer of 2014 and i was impressed. The museum is recently renovated and it is very well organized. It has a lot of artifacts (I especially liked the statue of Roman Emperor Hadrianus and the statue of Pegasus).
The entrance was 2 euro, and it was worth it. On a hot and sunny Greek day, the cold air of history from Thassos museum was welcomed.
