We were on holiday on Thassos and following a little exploring found this hotel about 20 mins walk from ours. Guests are made very welcome and permitted to use the beach and its furniture for a 5 euro spend in the bar. The beach was lovely with a gentle slope leading into the sea. The staff were extremely friendly and could not do enough for you . We decided to have lunch at the hotel also, the food was excellent , served with a smile. My partner asked for a lemonade and was recommended a homemade version from the bar, it was delicious. A Greek salad and some calamari was the meal , this was cooked perfectly and was enough for two.

I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Thassos.

We stayed here the last week in July (2016). Its a very Greek family run small hotel which is just what we like. Step off the terrace onto the beach-a swim with a view! You can see Thassos town and the ferries.Sunbeds are owned by the hotel and the sign says you must buy a drink to use them but we just figured that we had drinks every evening with our meal so didnt feel obliged to buy one during the day when using the sunbeds and no one said anything. I do like a view and as the brochure says all rooms have a sea view I assumed they all had the view in the photo. The rooms with the best view (top and middle floor at the front overlooking the beach) are bigger and therefore usually taken by families as there is room for extra beds. Our first room was on the top floor so was a good size but with a side view out to sea and trees and washing in the foreground. We asked to be moved and did so later in the week. Our second room was in the part of the building overlooking the restaurant (top floor) with a view of Thassos town...liked it. These rooms have a separate entrance and are smaller but as we are "neat" travellers it was fine for us...all about the view! i believe that the front rooms can be had at a supplement but I liked our second room. There is no noise from the bar as its very quiet in an evening. Hot water was good and the free aircon was VERY efficient. Wi fi was good (phone signal not so good but hey you are on your holidays! ) Lovely friendly family who will do anything to try and make your holiday right for you. Yummy Greek food...you choose your evening main course in the morning after breakfast and we love this system. Breakfast is continental choices and cooked eggs/sausage/toast. We thought it was good. We had lunch in the restaurant a couple of days and it was lovely. We also ate lunch one day at Papalimani restaurant(and beach) which we would recommend. Turn right out of the hotel entrance and walk about 20 mins, theres a sign so you wont miss it. You have to walk on the road but its ok (take a torch if you go out at night but the taxis are good.) If you walk further there are a number of lovely coves to swim in. We walked into Thassos town a number of times and its only 20mins, you start off walking along the beach then up a steep track to the road (cars come down here be careful) there is a short distance on the road untill you end up on a pavement. We turned left down onto the beach road signed Costis pottery (which is worth a visit) as its nicer than the roadside. Town is busy and bustling with lots of nice looking restaurants and bars. We like the bar right at the end of town -Karnagio (very smart...apparently great for sunrises and sun sets but we went at lunchtime) We travelled with Thomson and the flight and transfers were good. The recommendations from the rep didn't really "fit" our profile but we have been to Thassos before so we knew what we wanted to do. The Thomson trips are expensive and we had every intention of going to "real holidays" in Skala prinos to book any trips (they also have a website and leaflets at the bus stops) but Thomson had 20% off so the prices were similar. We went on the jeep safari to mount Ipsarion which we enjoyed...bumpy but comfortable ride/fab views/really good barbecue lunch. We also went on a boat trip...there is lots of choice in the old harbour. When making your choice do ask how many the boat holds (they should also be able to tell you how many are booked on already) some of the boats are rammed!
Lovely relaxing holiday. Thassos is great and we will definately return. Would return to Villa Nister too.

Room Tip: Next time I would request room 401/402/403 or pay extra for one of the top floor rooms overlooking the beach.

Situated not far from the city of Thassos, this hotel is the best of its kind. The owners and managing family are the most friendly and helpful people you would meet on the island. The place is very clean, has a beautiful view of the sea, an abundant breakfast, all that you need for your vacation. You have to reserve your room well in advance as the hotel is usually fully booked during the whole summer.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good. There are a couple of rooms without a sea view but usually you don't need a sea view in the room.

We have just come back from a great holiday at nisteri beach hotel ,relaxing ,good food and very friendly .we upgraded to a top floor room which cost but the views ,fantastic !! Bigger rooms to .The beach is just there ,you have breakfast lunch ,dinner over looking it fantastic !! It's clear and clean waters and golden sand the best beach around . Don't expect night life it is very Greek and not all English either , no fry up breakfasts or roast dinners , if that's what you want it's the wrong place for you . Thannis the waiter knows every thing and every body and keeps everyone smiling .It is a true family run small hotel and very friendly and laid back ,it's a bit old fashion but we loved it .would go back and most poeple do . 20 min walk into town ,hard work in the heat but worth doing . The owner does all the garden which are to die for worth going just for them , I think it is quite a magical place to stay ,please don't change

Room Tip: Top floor fantastic views more private and bigger but you pay extra

We stayed at the Nisteri in late May,the owners are lovely people and are always willing to help.the staff are really friendly. Thannis our watier was always full of fun,the breakfast was continental and had lots of choice and was very nice. we really enjoyed our stay here.the only reason i gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the bedrooms are small, they are very clean and the safe and air conditioning are free. very good wi fi.i would definitely go back for a week but i think 2 weeks too long with the small bedrooms.

Room Tip: all rooms face the sea
