The hotel is quite grand and well worth the 4*. Reception is big and airy, staff friendly and helpful, plenty of room in the main bar and terrace. I should put in a special mention to Irene, Karol and Phillipe in the Beach Bar - well done.
We had a family room on the ground floor in block 11. It was of a good size, plenty of space although the wardrobe might be a bit small if you have 4 in the room. The bathroom looked like it had recently been refurbished and was very nice. A shower over the bath and a European wc so no paper in the bin!
As described in other reports, the restaurant is a bit of a free for all but never hard to get to the food, which is always varied and well cooked. The salad bar was well stocked with the basics. Towards the end of the evening some items ran out but were replaced by an alternative. The main irritation was that children (mainly Italian) were allowed to run around the restaurant during meal times.
The snack bar food selection was limited but always good quality.
The pools were always kept very clean. A suggestion to the hotel would be to move the slides from the beach side swimming pool to the children's pool, leaving it to be an "adults only" pool as there was not really a pool for adults to get away from the kids.
The beach itself is a gritty, sandy beach with stones to get past entering the water. Once in, the water is clear and it is worth snorkelling to see the abundance of sea life especially if you take a couple of bread rolls into the water with you!
Outside the hotel, there are s handful of small supermarkets and other restaurants. A 20 minute walk will take you to Lardos village. Take a short bus ride into Pefkos for a bit more evening life.
We were there for a week of R&R and we certainly got that. The staff all round the hotel were very friendly and efficient. The grounds were kept up together well and although it has been open for 8 years is showing no signs of tiredness at all.
The guests were mainly Italian and Eastern European, with a few Brits. It was a shame that one family of Brits out for a wedding treated the place like a travellers camp and took over a lot of the slide pool with their inflatable this and that, circling their sunbeds so no-one could get past and bringing beers back 10 at a time, plus 6 pina colada's. In one afternoon they managed to drive half of the regulars away with their behaviour and loudness!
Still that said, you could always get away from them in this large complex.
The animation team worked very hard throughout the day and evening to keep every one entertained. Yes it was a bit of a pain listening to him having to announce the acts in 6 different languages, but hey - it isn't the West End!
So in summary, this is a good All Inclusive hotel, offering good rooms and quality food in the restaurants, located right on the beach. We would go back.
