“Wonderful!”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

For our 30th anniversary, we decided to spend 3 days at I Tre Archi instead of Venice. Hands down, this was the correct choice!! Old buildings abound in Italy but out-in-the-country Italian hospitality cannot be found in the cities. And Tuscany proved more beautiful than I could have ever dreamed. If you're looking for creature comforts with chocolates on your pillow every morning, go to a stuffy hotel. People who need clean sheets and new soap every day seem to me rather snobbish and spoiled. But if you're looking for a truly down-to-earth experience, this is it!! And, the food served every morning was truly Tuscan so don't look for Belgian waffles...you won't get it. Delicious meats, cheeses and breads dominate the spread. We were disappointed that Silvia was on vacation with the kids, but Claudio did a superior job going solo. One day, Claudio recommended the Ostaria del Borgo restaurant in Micciano for lunch. Unfortunately, it was until evening. But attached to the restaurant was a small grocery store. When the proprietors realized that we wanted to buy ingredients to make a picnic lunch because the restaurant was closed, they decided to open the restaurant just for us!!! And, Micciano is on the peak of a mountain. Wow.

Our stay at I Tre Archi was a relaxing experience which met our needs precisely: friendly and caring hosts, excellent food and superb views from the very nice swimming pool.

Hosts Sylvia and Claudio both spoke good English and were able to easily guide us to places to visit and good local restaurants for lunch and dinner.

The location is easy to get to. It is within 1 mile of Pomerance which was useful for basic groceries and a beer at lunch time. Day trips to Volterra, San Gimignano etc are all within reasonable drive times. Advice is to go early to avoid tourist traffic and get parked.

Breakfast was a self-serve continental style (nice mix of meats, cheese and fruits) with hot water to make tea, or fresh coffee was already prepared. We chose to take the evening meal, which is a set four courses differing each night. I have to say the pasta was excellent and pizza night was a special treat (they have a wood burning oven).

Our bedroom was medium size, bathroom shower was excellent (good flow and perfect temperature regulation). Fairly hot in the room but the ceiling fan did its job.

Overall a really nice stay. Quiet, rustic, friendly...

This was our second visit to this delightful 'farmhouse style' property. It provided for the perfect setting overlooking the rolling hills of Tuscany. The proprietors Claudio and Silvia were more than accomodating to our requests and provided us with good accomodation, food and great wine.

Room Tip: All rooms are free from noise since the hotel is surrounded by fields. Although air conditioning is...

Yes a wonderful location. We stayed 3 nights but not once were our beds changed or the towels changed,no soap or any toiletries of any description. We had 2 meals which were truly disappointing no salad or any vegetables just meat and more meat,oh and bread.Even a basic travel lodge you get soap and clean sheets. The whole place could do with an upgrade considering we paid over a 100 euros a night.I personally think the owners could do with a little traveling themselves, you would not get away with what they pass off as a bed and breakfast anywhere else. Was not expecting 5 star, but in all honesty there was no service whatsoever.Only consolation was the awesome views.

I Tre Archi provided everything we could have wished for and more: a great spacious, clean and well equiped room, amazing scenery from every angle and the best meals we had in Tuscany, washed down with decious, home produced wine. We also enjoyed taking out the bikes and exploring nearby picturesque towns and countryside, and on returning taking a refreshing dip in the pool, looking out over the valley below, as the sun set. The location of I Tre Archi was perfect in allowing us to take day trips to beautiful towns such as Siena and Volterra and to the coast for a day on the beach (we recommend going down to Castiglione della Pescaia). Claudio and his wife could not have been more helpful and accommodating, making us feel most welcome and enabling us to have a relaxing and special week away. We will be recommeding I Tre Archi most highly to our friends and family! Ethan and Emily Handyside

A true family establishment, owned and run by three members of the same family. Set in an idyllic spot in classic Tuscan countryside. Easy access to Volterra, Massa Marittima. Monteriggioni, Pisa, Siena etc, but you will be tempted to stay put and enjoy the beautiful setting. Very peaceful but only a few minutes' drive from Pomarance which has a good supermarket, shops and local market. Rooms are tastefully furnished in keeping with the character of the property. Service is attentive but unobtrusive. Inventive and inspired home cooking ('slow food') including dishes you will not find at 'tourist' restaurants. This was our second visit and we intend to return.

We had a fab time. surrounded by gorgeous hills and views, the agriturismo is really welcoming and the ideal place to recharge your batteries. We stayed a whole week. We went with a small baby and Elena, Claudio e Silvia could have not made us feel more welcome. Would def recommend the grille BBQ on Fridays at the Agriturismo and the Osteria dell'ultimo Carbonaio in Montegemoli. Planing to go back next year!
