“Greek Cooking, simple at it's height. Complementary dessert”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

A great value family affair.
Laopetra is located on the end of the promenade of tavernas in central Benitses.
We were very warmly welcomed and swiftly attended to. I also noticed that the following couple to be seated had extensive dietary requests and were well accommodated.
We shared saganaki to start, a traditional greek friend cheese and it was of excellent quality and skill, served simply with a generous lemon wedge.
We then had softido and kalamari for our mains. Again, both served simply. The softido was extremely tender and fell off the bones, with a hearty and well seasoned sauce. The kalamari was not tough, and was coated with a light flour giving crisp and added roundness to the flavour.
Dessert was complementary when we ordered the bill. We were served a strawberry cheesecake. Well rounded and flavoursome.
This meal only cost us around 30 euro.

“the best”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

very polite staff, spiro became a friend and we ate their most nights. the swordfish was the biggest serving i have ever seen and was cooked perfectly. the best chips in benitses, very reasonable on price as well. the first place as you come up from the police station end of town do yourself the biggest favour and eat there. dont chance the others compared to laopetra the other places are merely cafe,s apart from the last restruant (stratos) which isnt on here but that is a nice place as well.
