“Excellent in every way”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

Briefly - the very best! Tim and Claire (and Ruby the dog) were gracious, generous with their time and talk, and the most excellent of hosts and innkeepers. The food was the best in our 3 weeks in Spain. The room was quiet and cool and so very comfortable. Yeah, no TV!! The views and walks and the local villages were splendid but the real treat was a day at their pool just relaxing with a cold beverage and soaking in the water. We were all whacked out from days and days of travel and the respite here was like a refreshing elixir. We are determined to return.
OH and this is not for folks to like action, nightlife, or city living. Country at it's best and be prepared to perhaps get a bit lost going there. Worth it in every way.

This was our first visit to this oasis of calm. Tm and Claire were superb hosts and not only made us all feel at home but also made perfect recommendations that helped us get the very best out of our stay. We all left fully recharged and with a trunk load of memories and laughs that will last us until the next visit.
If you are looking for somewhere to just escape the rest of the world in the company of hosts who have a natural ability to just make the right things happen at the right time with seemingly no effort, look no further. This is a very special place to which we will return for the amazing food, friendliness and pure escape. Although I do agree with Jaap S's sentiment about the rave review paradox!
Thank you Tim and Claire for making our time with you very special, we will see you again in the not too distant future.

If you want to experience the real Spain then there is no finer place to start than at Casa Olea, with Tim and Claire as your inspiration. Casa Olea is simply beautiful: so much time, love and thought has gone into every detail to make this restored cortijo such a very special place to stay. From the gorgeous entrance hall presenting you with the view of olive groves and the distant mountains through a large picture window, to its cool and calming bedrooms with their own views of the stunning countryside.

The aesthetics of Casa Olea are only part of what makes this place a Memory Maker; the main ingredients are Tim and Claire themselves. From the moment you arrive you are greeted with the warmest of welcomes and nothing is too much trouble.

The passion and knowledge that Tim and Claire both have for the local area is infectious. In no time at all we were on bikes (available to hire from the Casa) touring the local sights. The routes (varying from easy to experienced off-road riding) were kindly provided by Tim, along with a detailed map, mobile numbers should we get lost and a lovely packed lunch made by Claire.

Casa Olea is ideally situated for any kind of holiday, whether walking, mountain biking or visiting the local white villages by car, or just kicking back by the lovely pool and enjoying the peace and quiet. Most of all, whatever your desire Tim and Claire will make it memorable. The highlights of our trip included visiting the beautiful white village of Zuheros (about 20 minutes away by car) and walking up to the 12th Century watchtower situated directly behind the Casa, guided by Ruby, enjoying spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

Lastly, whatever you do this next bit is a must.... Opt for an evening meal at the Casa and go for all 3 courses!! You won't regret it! Just when you think that things cannot get any better, Claire serves you some of the best home cooking ever. Ensure that you let Tim share his expertise with the choice of beautiful Spanish wines to compliment the meal.

Thank you both (not forgetting Max and Ruby) so very much for making our stay perfect in every way and especially for making our last evening one that will stay with us always.

Third visit to Casa Olea...Already planning next trip! If you are looking for somewhere to base yourself to visit Cordoba/Granada look no further than Casa Olea. You will not be dissapointed. Excellent roads mean you can visit both cities and return mid afternoon for R&R by the pool and look forward to a G&T at the bar and a beautiful meal on the terrace .We love it !! Tim and Claire are fab hosts , giving info on car parks/restaurants/hiking trails etc and anything you can think of.
Just exceptional quality in every respect.

This is a place you really want to keep for yourself and only recommend to selected friends in order to keep it the discovery it was for yourself on the first visit. Writing a rave review is not exactly a way to achieve this goal. We stayed in country inns, agriturismos and B&B's around the globe but never experienced the peacefullness and sheer perfectness of the Casa Olea. A description would not do justice to the real Casa Olea so, dear reader consider yourself a selected friend of this reviewers and take them on their word

We spent 7 nights there and had a wonderful time! We found the facilities, food, scenery, ambiance and the friendliness, helpfulness and knowledge of the hosts, Tim and Claire, to all be exceptional. After a day of sight-seeing, it was like coming home to family and friends. It was the highlight of our wonderful 3-week trip to Spain. We may or may not return to Casa Olea but our fond memories of our stay there will be with us forever.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Membrillo room which was large, sunny and quiet.

We stayed here for just 2 nights and had such a wonderful time! There is everything you could want, amazing scenery, stunning rooms, fantastic food and a truly luxurious pool area!! Tim and Claire were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with regards to walks, places to eat and sights to visit. Breakfast was lovely with a good selection for both vegetarians and meat eaters! We are already thinking how soon we can get back there!! :)

Room Tip: We stayed in Membrilla room with stunning views.
