“Wonderfully fresh food and so very welcoming.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 March 2012

We stumbled upon La Noria on our second day in Priego and returned day after day. The fish was just amazing - especially the beautifully prepared hake - and the enormous fresh fresh salads (which we usually shared) sometimes containing pithless pieces of still glistening orange segments or tiny pieces of fig and much more just drew us back - even after a superb elegant lunch in the old part of Cordoba (Taberna, Puerte Sevilla, calle Postera 51) - in the evenings. It is a very Spanish little restaurant and bar in a beautiful location, just opposite the flood lit castle, and we were the only tourists. The really kind and extremely efficient waitress is still there but we also got to know a little the extremely talented and spotlessly turned out chef and owner. Towards the end of our visit we were often treated to amazing puddings to share or a freshly baked tapas or two. The whole atmosphere was extremely friendly and we loved it there.

“A restaurant where we felt at home”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 October 2011

During a one week stay in Priego, I think we dined at La Noria every day but one. It would have been every day, but they are closed on Tuesdays. The staff (the same waiter and waitress each time) really made us feel at home. They were friendly and helpful, and treated us very generously. It was the kind of experience that makes a vacation special.

We usually sat outside in the lovely square next to the priego castle, but the interior is quite charming. The menu is a short one, but everything we tried was really good. Of special note was the salad with oranges, fig bread, and bacalao, and their duck mousse.

A number of the dishes are available as media ración (half portion), although the printed menu does not indicate this. We found this a very helpful option if we were not very hungry.

“Superb value, nice location, helpful waitress”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2011

This is in the square with the (marvellous) church of Encarnacion in Plaza de San Pedro. The restaurant is directly opposite the old castle. It is a fairly typical bar-restaurant with tables outside in summer. We had both lunch and (because lunch was so good) dinner there. The same waitress seemed to be there working virtually alone for both services, and was unfailingly helpful and cheerful (as well as efficient !). The menu is, wisely, short and all of the food was excellent - starters, salads, puddings. The patas de lo pobre deserve special mention, often being foul and greasy in bar-restaurants, but here they were quite superb. Wines were fairly priced and good. Highly recommended for a visit to this nice town.
