Stayed here recently whilst visiting the Riverside.

The welcome was warm and the room clean with all the usual requirements.

Breakfast was fruit etc then a full Yorkshire, all good quality fresh ingredients.

Car parking was adequate but I think may be an issue if the hotel is full.

All the staff we encountered appeared to be well trained and enjoying their work.

Thank you for a lovely Sunday lunch today at Brockley. Fantastic and helpful staff, and of course an excellent menu presented by prompt professional waiters. If you’re in the area then you should book a table. The Bruns will be back!

We booked a table for afternoon tea as it was my birthday and it really was fantastic. We were taken into the dining area and the decor was amazing, the colour of the walls and paintings and the chandalere were amazing.

We were given a copy of the menu for afternoon tea and there was plenty of choice and our afternoon tea arrived in no time. We ordered Decaffeinated tea for my wife and I had breakfast tea.

The presentation was amazing and the sandwiches were cut into finger size portions and there were very tasty.

On a piece of slate was beetroot, cheese scone with pickle and relish a s well as a scotch egg which had a very thin crust and the yolk was perfect.

The presentation of the cakes were superb and there was a small portion of clotted cream as well as a small jar of jam.

Towards the end of our afternoon tea, a member of staff came in with a plate with 'Happy Birthday' piped with chocolate and there was a few candy piece to accompany it, a nice touch.

Overall it was a perfect afternoon tea, there was nothing to complain about and the staff were polite and well presented. If you having a birthday book a table for afternoon it is well worth it and you will enjoy it, as we both did.

Does the hotel still need some work? Yes. Is it one of the best hotels I have stopped in? Without a doubt
Made to feel so welcome when we arrived. Taken to our room (not given directions to get there). Room was spotless, well laid out. Lovely bed and enough places to store goods.
Drinks are reasonably priced, no more than pub prices. Great real ale on hand pulled and well kept.
Had dinner to celebrate parents 50th wedding anniversary. Everything made from fresh, so easy to do gluten free options. Had the terrine to start with, full of meat, well pressed together and beautifully seasoned. The had the fillet steak, like mine rare and it was perfect. Unusual to get this right but the chef knows how to cook (my dad prefers well done and he loved his steak said still moist which is unusual). I had cheeseboard and all at room temperature. Lovely presentation which was matched in flavour. Service was stunning (special mention for Emma), nothing was too much and not in your face but always there when needed.
Breakfast was fabulous, fresh fruits, great yoghurt, Yorkshire breakfast was perfectly cooked. Wife had salmon and scrambled eggs which weren’t presented as expected but she says were fabulous in flavour. Make your own toast, would have been nicer if hadn’t been pre sliced bread but was so very fresh
The element that makes the hotel special are the people who work there. Nothing is too much for them, they are genuinely interested in you as an individual, nothing is too much or too small for them if it helps you. Emma, in particular, did all she can to communicate with my deaf parents and ensure they were looked after.
Loved this hotel, if it keeps the focus on its people then it will only grow and get better as a hotel. The shepherds huts that open next year will be a fabulous addition to the dining experience. Can’t wait to go back

We had a romantic getaway to Brockley Hall and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and special, we were shown we were shown to our amazing room which took our breath away.
We arrived for pre drinks and were personally ahown inro a beautiful dining room which was only surpassed by the master chef style food which tasted even better than it looked.
After dinner we were served coffee and petitfoirs in the lounge and made to feel like the hotel was ours.
Can only recommend a stay here as nothing was toomuch trouble and it was wonderful to stay somewhere so unique.
