Arrived in Saltburn for the first time (staying at Serenity in Hinderwell). We parked near the Station and walked down to the Funicular (50p for seniors) which glides down to the Pier. We stumbled upon the Valley gardens and strolled up to the Italian Gardens. Unfortunately, the tea room was closed so I can not comment except to say it is nicely located. The walk up the beck (we came back on the other side) was really lovely with options to go off in all directions through the forested areas. Salburn is a lovely little town with a good beach, a pier and the bonus of these wonderful gardens.
