Just returned from a golfing trip for eight 60-somethings and a good time was had by all.
Prior to arrival, Andrew the golf pro had been very helpful over the telephone, accommodating all our requests and this level of service was reflected by every single member of staff during our stay.
Accommodation was very good; the bedrooms spotlessly clean. Maybe a little stingy with the consumables (tea, coffee, biscuits, shampoo etc) but not a problem.
Dinner was excellent with plenty of choice from a varied menu; not one single complaint. Breakfast OK. Most had the full English and there were the odd moan: overcooked black pudding, hard yolks in the poached eggs. One man requested the porridge, which arrived as a solid grey/brown congealed lump. He actually attempted to eat it using his fork, but gave up after 2 or 3 bites.
Golf: knowing it was a relatively new course, everyone's experience was way beyond expectations. They have a total of 29 holes available and offer a different combination each day; we got to play them all. The cliff-top course is undulating with generous fairways and tricky upturned greens. Condition was pretty good and some of the views spectacular.
In summary, very good value for money and I would not hesitate recommending it to my golfing pals.More
