Lovely little b&b, run by the very friendly Annie. We had a very clean comfortable room with a superb power shower!
Good choice at breakfast, which was well cooked, and enough of it to keep you going all day!
Very conveniently sited for visiting Hadrian's Wall, only about 10 mins drive to Chester's fort and very close to the other ones.
There are several places to eat within walking distance, but we were there on a Monday so only the pub next door was open, it served excellent pub food, but beware the portions are huge!

Shaftoe's B and B is an excellent place to stay. Lindsey, the manager, and Anne the owner went out of their way to please us. Our daughter, Martha, and Ed and I were guests for 5 days, 4 nights, while we visited Hadrian's Wall area of Northumberland. The food was delicious and plentiful. The rooms were very clean and had everything we needed. The women were also very helpful with directions to out of the way places. Wish we could have stayed longer. It is a lovely, peaceful area to visit. Pat Faron

Shaftoe's is a truly excellent B&B! The room was clean, spacious, bright, modern and well equipped. We received a warm welcome and were very well looked after during our stay. Breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. The location was perfect for visiting Hadrian's Wall and the Tyne valley. We would definitely stay at Shaftoe's again.

We were met by the owner Annie who greeted us and she could not do enough to make sure we had everything , Lyndsey was fantastic and she looked after us over our three day stay and could not have been more pleasant , the location of Shaftoes was perfect as we were wanting a few days away exploring the Tyne valley and Hadrian's wall and we were within easy reach of Hexham and Newcastle on Tyne. The three local pubs all within walking distance , could not have made us feel more welcome. Our room was very clean and well fitted out with good decor, We found the WiFi connection excellent, so I did get some work done. The breakfeast was fantastic with great local produce, after a three day stay we cannot wait to go back. Thank you all so much for making our stay so memorable.

Great B&B, the happiest welcome imaginable, I'm still giggling, excellent rooms, towels could be better, but that's carping.Great breakfast, really cooked to order. I wish there were more happy and cheerful B&B managers.Shafttoes leads the way in welcome and attention yet is modest and understated. Well done

Had a lovely stay at Shaftoes B&B. The owner was terrific, very friendly and really helpful. I had left my mobile phone and she posted it back to me straight away which was very kind of her. Loved Northumberland, beautiful countryside and would definitely recommend Shaftoes B&B if your visiting the Hexham area.
