It was the kind of day that makes you wonder what the Roman soldiers made of Northern Britain, and that added greatly to the experience. This is an interesting site to visit and gave a good insight to some of our history with which we might not be very familiar. The visitor centre is well appointed, and the small museum adjacent to the site is really well done and quite informative. The site itself was really interesting, and the signage on the site was informative without being intrusive.
Even if Roman history is not a major interest there is plenty on this site that will appeal and the views across the surrounding countryside are not to be missed.
