Reviewed 26 August 2013

Great hospitality, scenery, food, air, stars, moon, terrace, trees, walks, etc.
We had a great stay at la Cerra and we think this is how an agriturismo should be. Authentic and connected to it's region.
The warm hospitality of Alberto and his suggestions for visits nearby are of great value.
A walk to the monte Pulchiana is a must.
Hoping to visit la Cerra again.

Henry

We stayed at La Cerra in May 2013 and had a lovely time. As described by earlier reviewers, Alberto is unfailingly hospitable and informative about the area. He directed us to our favourite beach of our 2 week holiday, as well as telling us about the Bandit Museum in nearby Aggius which we would have otherwise missed. The evening meals are great with excellent local wine. We are still missing the homemade salami. Breakfasts are very simple but none the worse for it, and Alberto knows how to make tea the English way! Argo and Linda, the two farm dogs, are great and we enjoyed being escorted back to our room each evening after dinner by them.We were in one of the 2 rooms further up the track from the main building. Unfortunately this meant we weren't able to make use of the covered terrace and hammocks but we had more privacy and quiet which we appreciated. We definitely hope to go back to La Cerra one day, it is a beautiful place and run very well by Alberto and his family.

It's been a year since we stayed at La Cerra but we haven't forgotten the warm welcome we received from Alberto, the fantastic views from the terrace outside our room and the lovely dinners we had in the little restaurant up the track. This is a very special place - an absolute must if you're planning a trip to northern Sardinia.

We have stayed at La Cerra early April 2013 and have throughly enjoyed it. We normally move every day to a different location but wished we would have stayed longer in that instance.
The place is very relaxing and Alberto is so welcoming that you fell at home.
We had dinner there and it was a great experience of quality local products.

We thought the location was amazingly beautiful- lots of hills and granite, and a small stream with cork trees. The food was excellent, the fresh air was great. Good hiking at the site, and the hosts were really friendly. We had a very relaxing trip (which was nice with our one-year old).

I was not expecting much from La Cerra - it was the last agriturismo of a 10 day trip and we mainly chose it for its rural location and proximity to Tempio Pausania. We were pleasantly surprised however, as it actually turned out to ve one of the best stays on the trip.

What we loved most about La Cerra was the location - it is extremely remote and you have views of beautiful mountain terrain on all sides. One of the highlights was the privately guided walking tour which was led by Alberto's dogs. That's right, Alberto's dogs! We were trying to find the start point of the recommended mini-hike when the dogs darted ahead of us. We thought, 'what the heck!' and followed them, only to find that they wanted to walk the entire way. This took approximately 50 minutes to complete and provided plenty of photo opportunities along the way. There dogs are truly amazing and we would go back in a flash just to see them alone!

The rooms are simple and close together but this was perfect for us seeing as we wanted to experience a communal atmosphere. In the evening Alberto occasionally lights the fire, which provides you with the perfect setting to enjoy a bit of jazz whilst munching away on some home-cooked food. There are some great restaurants nearby in Tempio but we much preferred buying the food locally and cooking it from scratch.

Last but not least, Alberto was a great host and went out of the way to provide us with local restaurant recommendations and information regarding nearby sights of interest. I also loved the fact that he was a real farmer, and you would often see him driving up and down on his tractor to carry out a days work in the fields.

La Cerra is a very special place, so much so that we are in the process of planning our next visit for 1 week next year. Thank you Alberto for making this a truly memorable stay!
