“Another wonderful stay at Logis du Pressoir”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2013

After our latest stay at Le Logis du Pressoir, I can safely say that it's as wonderful as ever. Lisa, Mark and Tom are the perfect hosts - friendly, knowledgeable about the local area and always willing to help out or stop for a chat.

We stayed in Les Rosiers, which like the other gites, is well appointed, tastefully decorated and comfortable. Each gite has its own BBQ which we made use of. We thoroughly enjoyed spending the week lounging by the pool interspersed with a couple of visits to nearby Saumur to sample the wine. We were also lucky enough to catch a stage of the Tour de France which was passing just a few miles away.

It really is the perfect getaway; quiet and relaxing, yet close enough to some great tourist attractions. We hope to go for a longer visit next time.

We stayed in Les Rosiers for a week in July with our daughter. The gite was lovely with everything you could possibly need. The supply of tea, coffee, milk, bread, beer etc was very much appreciated. Lisa and Mark were wonderfully welcoming and always happy to stop for a chat. My daughter loved having her own ensuite bathroom upstairs - though the stairs are very steep.

The grounds and the pool are fabulous. My daughter loved being able to run round freely with the other children and playing in the treehouse. We really enjoyed not having to fight for a sunbed, and to be able to pop home to get a cold drink. The bread van delivery in the morning was really useful - fresh bread and croissants for breakfast without needing to get dressed even. There is a big intermarche about 5 mins drive away.

We were so chilled out, we didn't venture out much. Saumur was a nice day out and we also went to Bioparc at Doue La Fontaine, which is built into an old quarry and was the best zoo I have ever been to. We certainly hope to come back one day.

Thank you so much for having taken the time to review us. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and hope that you will visit us again and do some more star gazing. (We'll keep Tom in a tight rein!)

You are right to indicate about the stairs. They are steep and we wouldn't recommend this particular gite to anyone with mobility issues if they needed to use the upstairs bedroom.. (This gite has a double bedroom on the ground floor with shower room.)

Best wishes for 2013.

Lisa, Mark and Tom

We visited Le Logis for a week at the end of June. Myself, husband and baby girl stayed in Le Petit Logis and it was just right for our needs. Mark and Lisa are superb hosts, ably assisted by young son Tom and Archie the dog! One of the highlights of our summer was sitting out on our little terrace BBQing in the evening, sipping our Loire Valley wine and enjoying the peace of the countryside (baby happily slumbering upstairs!). Although the weather was not great at times we really enjoyed our stay in Brion. Lots to do in the Loire Valley and plenty of ideas in the folders provided in the gite. Another highlight was the morning delivery by the boulangerie....most delicious croissants ever! Highly recommended and we will be back...

I just spent a long weekend in the b and b here and it was perfect. I flew from Stansted on Friday afternoon and came back on Monday afternoon for fifty pounds. The b and b room is a gorgeous en suite room which is decorated to a beautifully high standard. Like the gites here, the room is rustic but luxurious. This was the perfect weekend retreat and I recommend it to anyone who wants to get away from it all from Friday to Monday. The journey was simple, and as I said in my last review, the accomodation is perfect. Wandering around the Saturday market at Samaur was a simple pleasure and I spent Monday in Tours, with its stunning cathedral and ancient town before I flew home at about five o'clock.

We returned for the second time to Logis du Pressoir this year, and again stayed in the largest gite, Le Pressoir. I really love this place. The gite is very clean and well cared for, and is probably the best equipped gite we have stayed in. The children especially love the big box of age-appropriate toys and books. This year the weather was very kind to us (in fact, 37 degrees when we arrived!!), so we had several days of lazing around the site, using the pool two or three times a day, and sitting out on the private Le Pressoir terrace watching the lizards sun themselves. Mark seems to make a full time job of taking care of the pool and gardens ... and it really shows. The place is just beautiful. Lisa, Mark and their son Tom are very generous hosts, and the gites are full of information about local sites, restaurants, and the like. In some ways I want to keep the secret of this place to myself, to ensure easy booking for next time, but Mark and Lisa deserve every success in this venture and so I am happy to give it a big public thumbs up!

It is difficult to put into words just how good an experience staying here is.

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights in the bed and breakfast.

From the minute you walk into the grounds you are totally relaxed and at home. The properties are well renovated, superbly clean and well looked after. The pool is great when the weather was as hot as it was when we stayed. The grounds are extensive and well looked after (Mark you do a fantastic job).

Lisa and Mark are great hosts and so hard working. Nothing is too much trouble and they will happily give out advice and recommendations for the surrounding area. We got a great tip for a circuit of the Loire at sunset and for a restaurant in St Mathurin. The breakfast is heaven in a basket and such a treat to have it brought to you. Ask Lisa if you want anything in particular ( tip: Try the hot chocolate).

They deserve any success going.

Great to meet Tom and Archie the dog.

All in all this will be my one and only choice when we return to the Loire.

Stayed 2 weeks. First week with son and girlfriend, the second by ourselves. Very nice gite, tastefully decorated and good quality throughout. Lisa and Mark excellent hosts and very helpful. Particularly likes the local Boulanger delivering in the mornings! Very relaxing place to stay. Spacious grounds so you don't feel crowded, we can see why it is popular with families with children. Plenty of things to do in the local area to fill a fortnight.
