Actually this hotel has cheaper brother, Hotel Imperial (without Suite). It is located on the same street but other side, 10m further from center.
I didn't stayed at Suite Imperial but I've seen their rooms. They're good with wi-fi but cost 50000 COP (October 2013) for single room. And there were some constructions at that moment so I decided to stay in their other hotel to avoid noise.
So Hotel Imperial:
There is no dorms in this hotel, only private rooms (30000 COP for single room).
Good location: 3 blocks from main Plaza. There is no wi-fi, neither internet room. Only some internet spots around town center (like 10-15 minutes from hotel). One huge supermarket is 4 blocks further then hotel. Several ATMs around hotel area. But be careful: not every ATM accepts international cards. So if you arrived to Tunja without a lot of cash, hotel accepts cards.
My first room was 122. Small but clean room with private bathroom and hot water (needed to wait 1-2 minutes). TV in the room. Windows of some rooms are looking at patio, some just at the hall walls, window in my room was looking at car parking. Everything looked OK, before I got to bed. Blankets and pillows (although were clean, at least looking clean) were smelling awful. On the mattress there was some huge plastic bag which made sleeping very uncomfortable.
My second room was 121. And it has window into patio. It has brick wall so if you are not into the grunge, you’d better choose something else.
Towels, soap and toilet paper were provided.
Stuff don’t speak English so you need at least basic skills in Spanish.
