The house is rather grand and Matthew and Yvonne make you feel welcome. The hill room is huge with views of the garden and the hill on 2 sides. The public rooms are also huge with great views of the loch. You eat at a shared dining table - we met some interesting people on the 2 nights we stayed. Matthew's food is excellent with many of the ingredients grown by Yvonne in her garden and poly tunnels - ask for a tour! You can take your own wine - there is a corkage charge. They run gourmet weekends which I imagine would be fantastic. It would also be a great place to go if you were a group of 6 - you'd have exclusive use of all that space!
The area is good for walking whether a short stroll after dinner or a longer hike to work off all the eating. There are also the Arduaine Gardens nearby and you can also do boat trips from Easdale (30 minutes away) - seafari run boats out to the Corryvrecken (3rd largest whirlpool in the world according to Wiki) and to see local sea-life - porpoises, dolphins, seals, whales and apparently puffins although not when we were there.
