Morag , is the hostess with the mostest . She is a great character and after staying in her home you feel as if you are friends. The house is clean fresh and large with lots of scenery all around it. Morags breakfasts are second to none so much so that they kept us going all day. Strathorchy is a place that I would definitely return to if I'm u that way again. Overall, well worth a visit and a blether with Morag.

We were greeted by a very friendly host and taken to our room. The room was adequately appointed though a little on the small size. Room and ensuite were quite clean. Breakfast was freshly prepared and nicely served. Morag willing gave suggestions about what sights to see and see recommended a lovely place to have a meal.

We were met at the door and greeted as friends, not strangers. Our room was immaculate, cosy and comfortable. Morag is special, for sure. Her breakfasts make me now yearn to return. She also gave us great hints on how to find Kilchurn Castle the easy way......and we were the only two at the castle that afternoon. Pure Scottish hospitality and I will stay again!

We have been here many times and it is always fabulous! We had an en-suite room which was extremely comfortable. Morag makes the most wonderful breakfasts and she and her husband Donny, gave us a great welcome. It is a marvellous place for access to Oban and the Isles, or inland places - Glen Orchy, Loch Awe etc. Lovely walking from here.
This is a family home as well as a business. The great value price reflects this - it is all one would want as a B and B. It is NOT an hotel, so why a previous posting should expect the Ritz in a country location of Scotland, I can't imagine.
We will always stay here in the future!

We found this to be a wonderful B&B set in a beautiful location surrounded by the most magnificant munros. The B&B was immcaulate. The lady that runs it (Morag) was extremly friendly and helpful. We mentioned we were going to spend an evening in the local pub (The Tight Line - highly recommended!) and she insisted on driving us there and collecting us because she worried about cars flying down the road not used to pedestrians. She knew lots about the local munros and how to access them and offered to take us and pick us up from the start/end points shuold we had wished to leave our car at the B&B. Basically she gave us the hospitality that Scots are renowned for all over the world.

The rooms were very clean, beds comfortable. They wern't en-suite but we had our own private bathroom opposite our room. The breakfast was also very good and filled us up for the day ahead.

Also the price was great for peak season at only £45 for the room. We'll certainly not think twice about staying there again should we wsh to go back to the area.

This was the last B & B of our journey in Scotland, which started in Doune and brought us to the the very North (Thurso). This was the finest place with the largest room. The lawn was okay and so the whole garden. Friendly people and no problems at all. In three years changed a lot!

Strathorchy is located on A85 about 15 miles east of Oban. The area is beautiful and Kilchurn Castle is just a hop, skip and a jump---literally from the B&B.
The B&B is a small home. It is but one business the family runs as the husband has a contractors business as well at this location. Unfortunately for the travelor, he must be very busy as the lawn had not been attended too for a very long time. Lawn furniture was laying on its side and the hedge had not been trimmed all summer, at least some of the hedge. One portion had been started but never completed. There are two doors to the building. Do not make the mistake of going to the side door adjacent to the driveway- a somewhat obvious choice. Go to the rear door or you will be frimly advised that this side door is not for you! Perhaps a sign would be helpful along with a light.
The room was clean and neat, but the hallway as you enter the rear door was awash with shoes, boots and magazines on the floor. Also, do not mistake the coin collecting telephone as a telephone. After putting in a pound to make a call and could not even get a dial tone, I was advised that the telephone was not hooked up. As I was told I could not get a refund, this telephone is simply a piggybank for the host.
