A one time micro brewery which was closed in 2008 we still serve local real cask ale and a variety of wines are behind the bar to compliment our menuThere is a rear decking area with superb views across the sea taking in many of the inner Hebridean Islands. We are a seasonal establishment which operates in accordance with customer numbers throughout the year and may be closed on certain nights even during the summer season. Looks a bit dark from the outside but once inside there is a light and open space to sit and enjoy the great food here. Hubby had the seafood chowder and pronounced it the best he'd ever had! The rest of the family also enjoyed good, tasty food which was well presented. Just the thing after a boat trip!

Brilliant place. Nearly made up for the disappointment of the rest of the day. Wonderful food, wonderful inside and lovely drinks.

Nice food, good beer, pleasant host - what more do you need. The food seems to be cooked to order so don't be in a rush, go with the flow.

“A lot to like here”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

This is a remarkable location and a very pleasant place to eat, it gets busy which explains some of the grumpy reviews below but a group of four of us arrived in the early evening and were very happy. Anywhere which has the superb Loch Tyne beers on draught can't be bad - Avalanche goes brilliantly with fish and seafood. Oysters are a reasonable £8 for six, but have to be eaten with care as there were several shell splinters. My venison stew was tasty, though the taste and texture suggested it was bought in. My companions liked their fish soup. Cranachan dessert was a bit over elaborate, but filling. An enjoyable place to visit.

“Best Stilton pate ever!”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

This bar and restaurant is superbly located with beautiful views over the sea from a sweet little beer garden. The service is always friendly, and the menu well thought out with some interesting vegetarian choices - this can be something that pubs tend not to bother with, so makes a nice change.
